" Sister you are supposed to be getting married to a Prince, such a fairytale, why do you choose Kian instead?" Adalyn asked her along the way.
Alvah had agreed that they moved a bit faster. If Kian can make it to the district today so can they.
" Because I love Kian Adalyn, and not 'the Prince ' " she said in quote.
Alvah did not want to have any say in this but if he did. He clearly remembers that he did not choose Zillah, he wanted keva but it wasn't meant to be and it never worked out.
And what isn't meant to be will not be or will become a disaster. But teaching the desperate girl this type of lesson is not helpful because she was stubborn.
They walked longer than they thought and they could see city lights. " I think we are here " Adalyn helped to announce.
" Where do you think we could find him?. It was Soo much easier if it were the Prince at least we know he stays in the uppermost part of the district ". Adalyn continued speaking.
" If we were to introduce you to the Prince, do you think he would believe that you are his bride?" Alvah asked her looking at the treacherous state she was in.
By now it was evening, past 7 and it was dark. When they got to the gates they were stopped and Alvah had no other choice
" Who are you?" The guard asked.
" We are trespassers" He blatantly said. Adalyn and Della looked at him stunned by his answer.
" Trespassers?" The guard repeated after him. " Yes" he replied plainly looking at the guard intensely.
" There's a kid and a girl and... Him, do they look like trespassers to you?" The other guard asked the guard.
He looked back at Alvah. " You can't be here at this hour young Sir" He kindly addressed Alvah but Alvah wasn't having it.
He took the stick out of the man's hand and hit him hardly, once and his head and the guard lost consciousness.
" Heyyyy!" He shouted when another guard came and he dressed differently and looked differently. He looked like he was from the inside of the district because his clothes weren't the same with the guards.
He whispered something into the ears of the guards. And they looked at them strangely. " Come in" be said to the three of them.
When they walked in, a group of guards arrested them.
They took Adalyn from Della holding her arms, same with Alvah and they left.
When they got inside they were greeted with royalty. Adalyn looked with her mouth wide open while Della was astonished. The guard looked at Adalyn who was paralyzed by the beauty of what she saw while Alvah kept walking straight.
"Sit down" he commanded them. Della looked like she was getting cold hands and feet and Alvah noticed this.
The mission was to find Kian not her husband. " Excuse me" the guards looked at Alvah whose voice echoed due to the emptiness of the room.
" She needs to use the bathroom" he pointed at Della. She had a ray of hope in her eyes when Alvah said that. He winked at her and she smiled back.
Before the guards could react, " go hurry what are you waiting for, she's badly pressed please forgive her". He said jokingly
Della stood up running out the door not knowing where she was going but as long as she was out of there.
It was too late when the guards got the hint because they had looked at Alvah and he had a smirk on when switching his sitting position to stay beside Adalyn placing his arm around her.
She smiled at him and rested her head on his chest and he stroked her for the last time. Perceiving this was their last shared moment together he asked her " Adalyn what would be the last thing you would say to me if you did not see me again?"
He asked her expecting a whole hearted reply when he heard a familiar voice saying "Thank you " they both turned to look at him and they saw Kian dressed in an expensive clothing and looked cleaned up and good looking.
Alvah had his lips in a grin with Kian moving closer.
" Kian you... Are you ?" Adalyn wanted him to complete it but he only smiled at her widely.
She ran towards him and jumped on him and he caught her hugging her tightly. Alvah stood up with a fake sad expression holding his chest like he was hurt by her actions walking closer to Kian
" Prince Killian I see" Alvah said leaning on the couch. " Alvah. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and stress I caused you"
" Yeah right" Alvah shrugged. " I'm also sorry about ditching you to bring them here on your own in the dark night "
" It's all good. Your bride went to look for Kian. Looks like she's cheating on you" They both laughed but Alvah cut him off " no seriously she went off to look for you".
Before Kian could take off after her he stopped and looked at Alvah. " I know I won't see you again after this hour. Thank you for helping these two girls till this day. I will take them from here ".
" Alvah you are leaving me?" She came down from Killians arm and tugged Alvah to Carry her in his arms and he did pick her up.
" Where I come from there are no kids, but you make me feel like a father already". He brushed her hair backwards with his fingers.
Kian heard that and could not begin to process his statement. " I'll miss you Alvah, dearly". She said rubbing his bone cheek.
" I'll miss you too Adalyn " she hugged him tightly by the neck, taking his breath away but he was adamant to live. He hugged her back giving her small kisses on her cheek.
" Being kissed by a man like you makes me accomplished " she said smiling at him. And the both men were shocked to their wits at her words. Alvah looked at Kian who was also shocked at her words with both their jaw dropped.
Kian took her from him and they both shook hands. " Till we meet again?" He asked Alvah hoping for an assurance. " Till we meet again Prince Killian"
" I love you both" Adalyn said looking at both of them simultaneously. It was like they were brothers Sharing something in common.
" Bye Adalyn" Alvah waved at her. " Bye bye Alvah " she said almost crying. And he wiped her tears kissing her eyes softly.
" Don't cry for me". He said. " You are my friend and I'll never forget you". She said childishly.
" No you wouldn't " he said grinning. " My promise to you Alvah " . " You're such a big girl". He commented and she smiled. They all shared a warming smile.
" Goodbye Alvah " Killian said with emotions in his voice. There was a lot this two would've talked about but they kept it a secret.
" Fire Is your elemental right?" Alvah asked him and Killian was as shocked as daylight.
" You have a lot to learn. Goodbye Killian ".
Alvah teleported disappearing from their presence and Killian was convinced that Alvah was not an ordinary person and he needed to find out more. " That's my friend" Adalyn spoke and Killian looked at her and smiled.
Della was still running when the sudden grunts and voices from the guards stopped. She turned around to look and they were on the ground. Before she could move any further she hit her face on someone's chest.
" Alvah" she called his name and hugged him and he hugged her back.
" I can't make it out of here. What's the use? I should just be with the Prince. If...if Kian wanted me anyways he would struggle for me like I'm struggling for him" she was panting for air.
" Della" he crouched with her to be able to stable her breath. " Sometimes you have to stop running and face whatever is awaiting you. You'll be tougher that way". He encouraged her
" I will, thanks for the advice ". She was beginning to regain her strength.
" I'll be leaving Della".
