Contrary to Yang Jingshen's fears, the whole affair regarding the repair of the first stage of his soul was concluded just like that without making the slightest ripple. He didn't have any accidents, didn't get attacked by some unknown ghosts or demons, starved to death because he couldn't move, and most importantly, didn't lose his little life.
It was all good. And since it was such a resounding success, Yang Jingshen was of course more than happy, if a little bewildered. Like– wasn't it the norm for something to happen to the main character -he wasn't one, but still- when going to increase his rank in cultivation? Like falling prey to demons or inner demons or getting attacked by enemies?
