It was a long corridor with its elegant decorations brought into focus by the pale yellow glow from the overhead lights. The whole feeling gave off a slight air of oppression, especially considering that there were precious few people in sight.
And those who occasionally walked past gave off a sense of not having any presence. Not like in normal conditions where ordinary people tended to disappear in the crowds– but, it was more like these people deliberately lowered their sense of presence.
A man walked forwards with measured strides along this corridor, his footsteps noiseless on the carpet floor. He gave off a feeling of being assured, yet at the same time, there was that discomfiting feeling of lacking a presence contained within this assurance. It was a curious sensation– somewhat frightening to be honest.
