"Mommy, does Lola Mama hate us?"
I was taken aback by Nicole's sudden question. I looked at my little girl to find her playing with Plum. This little pup had attached to her. Plum followed Nicole almost everywhere, we had to put our foot down when she began feeding her human food.
Rather than answering, I asked, "Why do you think she hates you?"
It took a while for her to answer. I guess she was trying to find the best way to give me a response. She might be young, but her soul was complicated. After all, The Oracle reside in her as well.
"I remember her telling us, it was our fault that you had become like what we are now, Mommy," she said, then looked at me, a mixture of innocence and fear in her beautiful whiskey colored eyes. "Is it true?"
I had to close my eyes so that she would not see the burst of anger her innocent words had brought. My mom did a number on my kids. And I am slowly learning how she had done it to them.
