I walked into class and looked at everyone. They were talking to each other and making friends with one another. I walked to an empty seat and sat down. I closed my eyes and crossed my arms. I felt someone pat my shoulder and I opened my eyes to look at the person.
"Yo!" Ashiri smiled then sat beside me.
"I'm surprised you made it." I said jokingly.
"Heh, come on. You thought a bunch of Advance Levels were gonna beat me? After all, we still haven't gotten to finish what we started on our last day of highschool if you remember." Ashiri said.
I had a flashback of Ashiri and me fighting on top of the school building, but that's the most I could remember. I shrugged and closed my eyes. "Pretty sure I was the stronger one in that fight."
"I'd say we were evenly matched, but...we never got to finish our fight since the principal stopped us. I'd like to battle you again and this time we should finish our fight." Ashiri smiled.
"Hmph." I said then smiled.
Our teacher appeared via teleportation and laughed. She had long silver hair, golden eyes, and a very excited smile on her face. She wore a white turtleneck, a red long coat, and black skirt with dark colored stockings and black thigh high, high heeled boots.
"Good afternoon Class! I am your teacher Tokichi Uzuhira, and I am very pleased to see all new faces who have the honor of attending our academy. We have trained very powerful warriors in the past and we are happy to do it again!" Tokichi smiled. "Let's get things started of with introductions! Everyone will stand up and say their names and something interesting about themselves when I point you...starting with you! With the big boobs!"
A young woman with long black hair extending to her lower back, light red eyes, and a mole under her right eye stood up. She had a curvy body with a large bust size. She wore her old academy school uniform.
"My name is Mitsuho Akechi. I guess one fact about me is I am a descendant of the Akechi clan." Mitsuho said then sat down.
"Very interesting!" Tokichi said then pointed at another girl. "You there!"
A young woman with long white hair, golden eyes, and a very lovable face stood up. She had a thin, but curvaceous body with a medium sized bust. She wore an idol outfit similar to what my older sister wears when she does her concerts.
"My name is Sumitori Yugimoto. I am actually a five time champion in a hit show called The Top Idol." Sumitori smiled then sat down.
Some of the guys were gushing over her as she was a very beautiful girl. They began to speak about how they saw her in the show.
"Very awesome!~" Tokichi smiled then looked around. She pointed at another girl. "You with the emo, gothic, and dreadful presence!"
A young woman with long pitch black hair with bangs that covered her left eye, light purple and green gradient eye color, and an ornate black choker on her neck. She had a curvaceous body with a medium bust. She wore a fishnet top, black tank top, black tutu like skirt, black and green leg warmers with black boots. She looked very dead on the inside.
"Uhm..my name is Kiruri Sabu. One thing about me is my Cipher grants me the power of a Sorceress." Kiruri said then sat down, going back to drawing in her notebook.
"Oh yeah I remember seeing that in the opening ceremony." Tokichi smiled then pointed at another girl. "Next up, you there!"
A girl with pink hair, bright blue eyes, and a bright smile stood up. She had a thin and slightly curvy body with a small bust. She wore a white button up shirt tucked into blue jeans and wore white boots. She bowed at Tokichi.
"My name is Juliana Hirori!" She started then stood back up straight. "I come from abroad, America to be specific!"
"Ahhh, an American here in Japan?~ Very nice and classic." Tokichi smiled then pointed at Minena. "You there!"
Minena stood up quickly and stood attentively. "Y-Yes! My name is Minena Sebara! I am from Greece!" She said then sat down quickly out of embarrassment.
The class softly chuckled and giggled.
Tokichi smiled and nodded. "Are you familiar with the Greek Gods and Goddesses?"
"Yeah. I used to study upon them before moving out here. People told me they've become obsolete and pointless after the discovery of the Cipher, but I still like to learn about how we came up!" Minena said.
Tokichi nodded then pointed at Ashiri. "Red head! Your turn!"
Ashiri stood up and smiled. "My name is Ashiri Seken. One fact about me is that I am an Elite Level Cipher user." Ashiri sat down after giving his introduction.
The class murmured and looked at one another. They were surprised that there was someone above Advance Levels amongst their ranks.
"Elite Level huh? Interesting~ And you beside him!" Tokichi pointed at me.
I opened my eyes then stood up. I looked at everyone in the class then looked back at Tokichi. "My name is Yusuka Akashiro. Like my best friend Ashiri here, I am also an Elite Level Cipher user." I said then sat down.
"Two Elite Levels, now this is a very interesting situation we are in. Two 19 years olds here are Elite Levels already. Heh...I am impressed. I've watched both of you fight and it seems like you, Yusuka was the talk of the teacher's lounge. Your skills even impressed the Headmaster." Tokichi said then smirked.
I closed my eyes and crossed my arms. "Is that so.."
Tokichi nodded and smiled then began pointing at the other students for them to introduce themselves. Once everyone was introduced, she clapped her hands together and a student handbook, student ID, and dorm handbook as well.
"Let's go over a few basic things, your Student ID can be used as your own personal credit card and each student gets 1,000,000 Yen to use however they like!" Tokichi said then smiled.
"Alright!" Some of the guys in the class said.
"For the boys who doesn't know how to use all that dough, I accept very special tips~" Tokichi giggled.
"Not funny." Some of the same guys said.
Tokichi began writing on the board then put the technological pen down. She turned around back to us. "Now let's talk about your Ciphers. Who here can tell us about the Cipher or best explain what it is?"
I raised my hand then Tokichi pointed at me. "It is a magic code in which grants the user power and different abilities. Depending on how powerful your Cipher is, you can get better abilities and even wield more than one."
"Perfect! Five points! Yusuka explained it perfectly! The Cipher is a magic code that allows one to awaken the power within you and the stronger the Cipher the better you become! Now about the different levels of Cipher." Tokichi began writing on the board. "The Levels are Basic, Advance, Elite, Master, Ultimate, God, Absolute, and finally Infinite. For many years the Cipher has still not been truly explained or broken yet. No one can crack the code and for good reason. The magic code is very complex and difficult to read since it's in an unknown language."
Mitsuho stood up and Tokichi pointed at her. "Is it right to ask who created the Cipher?"
"That is a very good question, but no one can answer the question. The Cipher is still in the Genesis phase meaning there are still things no one truly understands about the Cipher." Tokichi said.
Mitsuho sat down and wrote down the notes once more.
"Now let's talk about how we can improve our Cipher. The Cipher is like a life force property so remaining healthy and training your body and abilities will make the Cipher stronger. Not only is it a life force property but it is also a magic property that grows as you do." Tokichi said.
Minena stood up and Tokichi pointed at her. "Can you give an example?"
"Of course!~ Take Fire Manipulation for an example. Basic Level fire users can basically only detect and put out fires using their magic abilities, advance level users can generate sparks and flames and can even shoot fire balls and burn or melt things. Elite Level users can grant themselves immunity to fire and the heat and can even fly using the flames. Some of them can combust themselves and manipulate the volatile forces of the flame. Master Level users can do all of that and even more such as control the inferno, combine flames with other forces and create a new variant of the flame, and can even augment themselves using the flames they produce. Ultimate Users and up can use their power in ways only the gods and goddesses were able to. That's probably as basic as I can put it." Tokichi shrugged and smiled.
"I see.." Minena said then sat down.
"Alright, with the basics out of the way, I would like to do something different for this year. I would like to host a Mock Tournament with this class to gauge where all of you stand. From there I can teach to where everyone is comfortable. With that said, we shall all meet in the battle area!" Tokichi said. "Class dismissed!"
Everyone got up and began leaving the classroom one by one. Ashiri looked at me and tapped my shoulder. I opened my eyes and looked at him.
"You seem more lost in thought than ever. What's the matter?" Ashiri asked.
"Nothing, just thinking about how I can push my limits." I said then stood up.
"Huh, I've been thinking the same thing and I hope this mock tournament can help." Ashiri stood up then watched me stand up.
"Hopefully." I nodded then walked out of the class with Ashiri to the battle area of the academy.
We all made it to the battle area and sat in the sidelines of the arena, waiting for Tokichi to arrive. Tokichi walked out onto the battlefield and we looked at her.
"Welcome to the Battle Stadium where all of our major fights and tournaments are held! Here we will gauge where you all stand in power with a mock tournament! The opponent you will be up against are randomly selected. There are 16 of you in my class so that means there will be eight battles, then the quarter finals will have four, the semi finals will have two, and finally the finals will have one battle. That's how the tournament works! So, let's get this started!" Tokichi said then we all looked at the big holographic screen and noticed the brackets. "The first battle will be...Minena against Ibaru! Head out onto the battlefield and let's get this started!"
Minena looked nervous as her Cipher only granted her Healing abilities. She stood up and looked to see who Ibaru was. Ibaru was a guy who had light tanned skin, short dark brown hair and gold eyes. He looked at Minena and smirked knowing it was going to be an easy fight.
They both headed out onto the battlefield and Tokichi walked off the battlefield. Minena and Ibaru looked at each other and prepared themselves for battle.
"Begin!" Tokichi said.
Minena awakened her Cipher and cast a healing circle around herself then watched Ibaru dash to her. She looked surprised and stumbled backwards. Ibaru grabbed her arm then flipped her over his shoulder and slammed her on her back. She groaned and grunted once Ibaru kicked her across the battlefield and caused her to hit her back against the invisible magic wall. Ibaru held his hand out then his Cipher activated and he summoned a large ball of light energy then blasted Minena with a beam of light energy. Minena looked at the beam and yelped then an explosion happened once the beam came into contact with her body.
The other classmates watched and looked surprised. I frowned and grunted softly. The smoke cleared and Minena was on the ground out cold from the shock and power of Ibaru's attack. Tokichi looked at Minena then lowered the magic wall and walked over to her. She crouched down in front of Minena, checking her pulse. Minena was still alive, just out cold.
"Minena is out of commission. The winner is Ibaru." Tokichi said then picked Minena up and carried her to the sidelines.
I looked at Ibaru and sensed he was just holding back against the fight. He knew Minena was an easy win for him. I looked at Tokichi and Minena then stood up and walked over to them.
"Is she alright?" I asked.
"Yeah...she just passed out from the shock of the battle and the blow she took from Ibaru's attack. She's alive, but...I am wondering how someone like her even made it." Tokichi said.
"She tried using a healing field technique on herself that cures any damage you take immediately. She's an Advance Level so healers like her can do that, it's just Ibaru was too fast so the process couldn't be completed." I said.
"How did you know?" Tokichi asked.
"I could see the magic code she used to cast it or the very least, understand the code she used to cast it." I said.
"You can see the inscriptions of the Cipher?" Tokichi asked.
I nodded and looked at Minena. "Hers was very complex and took way too long to set up. To try something like that means she tried to make the battle a battle of endurance."
"I see. You seem very knowledgeable about the Cipher." Tokichi said.
"My dad researches and can read the Cipher and my mom and grandfather trained me to better the Cipher and make it stronger. I'm a mixture of the ability to read any inscription and make my Cipher stronger. I could probably learn the inscriptions and use the same power if I tried hard enough." I said.
Tokichi nodded then I took my seat. She looked at her Cipher Power Tracker and looked at both Ibaru's and Minena's Cipher Power. "Her power is so low and yet she managed to make it here.."
Minena's Cipher Power was a low 157, meaning she just made it to Advanced Level. Ibaru's Cipher Power was 899 meaning he was close to reaching Elite Level.
Tokichi looked at Minena against then looked back at the screen.
