In this temple there was only peak rank 5 being, all of them had great senses, one of them would have felt if someone had entered in the treasure room. Then it could only be a mystery of the universe.
A mystery of the universe was an event that would happen and couldn't be changed, it could go from less important things like the disappearance of the method to the death of a being. What needed to be kept in mind is that a thing linked to a mystery of the universe would be of great importance or power.
"Is there someone who already learned this method, Arkantos ?" The ancient one enquired, Arkantos suddenly thought about Zoe, she knew the method she would be able to give them. "There is one ! My daugther, I'm going to ask her what it the content of the method !" He exclaimed loudly.
Suddenly the elder interrupted him. "It's useless, she won't be able to explain it to you, if she still can use it she should have triggered something that made her the only in the world, perhaps in the universe to train according to this method."
"She won't be able to explain ? What are you meaning ?" Arkantos was confused, if she could still practice it why she wouldn't be able to talk about it.
"It's because this method became a part of her, everything linked to it became instinctual for her. It should have merged with her soul, in order to retrieve it now, you would have to seek in her soul and tear parts of it, I think I don't have to explain what it mean to tear parts of someone soul." The elder explained.
When Arkantos heard this, he could only let go of his idea to get back the method, never would he cripple his daugther for this method, what's more it didn't disappear at the moment she started to practice it, it meant that something unknown happened that put her on the right track.
"I know you already took great care of her but now spend twice the effort you were already spending, given a bit of time she could become a key figure in the upcoming war, after all we, are only bags of bones." The elder added before the silence came back in the temple.
In this huge room there was only Arkantos, still on his knees, he was thinking about what he had to do next. In the end the priceless method she brought back could only be used by her and won't become a great asset of the kingdom, at least it was his daughter the one who could practice it.
He returned to the palace, what happened was a mystery, and the reason this mystery happened would stay unknown. Maybe one day Zoe would be able to discover it, as for him he doubted that he would be able to be there when the truth would be unveiled.
He decided to summon Zoe just to check if she really couldn't give the method. When Zoe entered in the thron room she was a bit confused.
"Can you write down the core of life method ?" The King asked, she nodded took a pen and when she was about to write on the blank book she was given, nothing came. The crux of the method was to form the seed, however at the moment she put in words how she had done that.
When he saw that she wasn't writting anything, the King understood, he didn't have great hope, the words from the elder were true. "Don't worry I expected this outcome." The King added while smiling, he saw that the fact that Zoe couldn't remember it made her nervous.
When she heard this she calmed herself and nodded and asked. "Does it mean that I can't practice it anymore ?" She wasn't sure.
The King shook his head, he looked at her with loving eyes and said gently. " Don't worry about it, you will be able to practice it, the universe only want you to be unable to write down the method." When she heard this she understood, if she couldn't explain how to make the seed, the rest of the method would be useless so there was no need to test the rest.
Everyone in the genius squad was waiting the D-day for the war simulation, each of them saw with the snake's mission that they had a terrible coordination, it was the time to improve it.
The day before the simulation everyone gathered in a room, they had to make plans, no one wanted to become a laughing stock, they were geniuses so they had to show their might. Bea, as always, was leading the meeting.
"Tomorrow each of you will have to focus, Xaratus and Galitos, I know that both of you are reluctant to fight as a team but you will have to put those thoughts aside, after all Kimstros won't be able to fight, we can't have 2 of the most powerful like you doing as you please."
Kimstros squinted his eyes, he looked at Xaratus in anger, he wanted to take revenge however for now he won't be able and in the time he would take to heal, Xaratus would improve.
"Taron, Zach, Xaratus and me will go at the vanguard, mysterious girl and Galitos, both of you will lead the rearguards, you have to cover us. Just so you know, I got the information that everyone we will fight will be at the peak rank 2 and lead by a low rank 3." Bea announced.
The face of almost everyone darkened, the weaker in the squad were mid rank 2 and apart from Bea only half of them were at the peak rank 2, it meant that if they would be at disadvantage against the same number of opponent.
This fact meant that their mission was more to not loose too miserably, winning would be an impossible task, Bea knew it, her objective wasn't to win. After all they would be against a team who was experienced in fight against other beings and that had a good coordination.
Once everyone got what they had to do the next on the war simulation they dispersed. Zach and Zoe were returning in the same direction so they talked while they walked, suddenly Zoe fell on her knees, Zach didn't understand what was happening and thought that it was bad.
However a few moments later Zoe looked up, she had Zach's head just above hers, she had a huge smile on her face. Zach was confused about what happened and could make her smile like that, so he asked. "Are you alright ? Why are you smiling like that ?"
"I broke through !" Zach was even more confused, he could still more or less feel her cultivation level, she should still be in the peak rank 2. However the next instant he understood what she was meaning.
"You mean you are in the soul low rank 2 ?!" Zach exclaimed, Zoe nodded and added. "Yeah ! I saw it, I saw my soul, it's gorgeous, such a beautiful white bead with greenish glints." When he heard her he was confused, his soul bead had golden glints, he was also in the soul low rank 2 so it should be the same.
Once again he thought about the core of life method and the awakening, the awakening did something to her soul as for the core of life method it should have an effect on her soul so maybe both this events made it so her soul was peculiar.
What Zach didn't know was that his soul bead was also an oddity, the simple fact that he could already saw it before the rank 2 should have alerted him but he didn't thought about it. A casual soul bead would stay white, the color would only become more and more matte.
"What are you feeling Zoe ?" Zach was curious about what this break through would bring her. "I don't know, it's like I can feel a new thing, I see one in you, I also see one in me but what's odd is that there is one in your shadow." Zoe replied.
When he heard her, Zach's back was drenched in cold sweat, he had an idea of what she was talking about, but it should be impossible, he couldn't put any life form in his shadow.
According to her there should be something in his shadow that was living, he wasn't sure about what it was but it didn't put him in a confident position.
"I'm sleepy so I'm going to bed, congratulations on your break through." Zach said and went away, he had very important things to do. Zoe squinted her eyes, she knew he did that to go away without talking about the thing in his shadow.
Once in his room he took out what he believed to be the thing that created this anomaly, he took out Zaalem.
At the moment he had it in his hands he suddenly felt the trendemous craving for soul it had, he knew he was right. 'It's not a simple weapon, it should be a mix between a weapon and a living being.'
The craving was getting even more powerful and Zach started to feel that he wouldn't be able to keep it in check so he tossed it back in his shadow.
'I've still time to unravel the mysteries of Zaalem, for now I will rest after all, tomorrow it's war.' On those last thoughts Zach fell asleep in a few seconds.
