Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

*Huff huff huff huff

…

"Why??! … How can it end like this?"

He was drawing his last breath, his life flashing, thinking .. about the events of his life, his suffering, his joy, his struggles, his Loved ones.

Tears were streaming down his cheeks as he yelled "What did we do to deserve this ? is this our fate? Oh you FUCKING Gods TELL MEEEEE"

"WHICH OF YOU CRUEL GODS MADE US, HUMANS ???. fragile, without strength, weak. if that's how our life was meant to be .. then WHY did you give us the heart to feel these sufferings …. Why?...why?...WHY???..." he said amidst sobs.

His eyes turned blurry from his tears and weakness. He could only see a small shadowy silhouette …and then he could see no more …

A few days ago

"son…. SON, ANGO, where are you?" yelled a woman in her early 30s, with a dirty face and hair and dirt visible on her clothes, similar to the other two dozen people in the old house. She was looking around, in and outside the house looking for Ango.

Inside this settlement, forty people were cramped together in a house to live; Since their Elven masters believed animals and livestock didn't need any privacy.

"Ahhh he is going to be whipped by the guards if he doesn't come back soon, it's nearly curfew" she said.

"Calm down Ria, don't get worked up, you're pregnant and you're gonna give birth in a few days. He is probably fooling around with Joe's daughter, Nina, in the bushes again, I'll go get them, You should rest" said a bald man with a dirty face and bushy beard with tattered clothes.

"Go then and be fast John, He was late this week once already and if he's late again ..." she said while pacing around with her hands on her sides.

The man named John nodded and sped off.

.

.

.

Giggling and moaning of a girl could be heard and the bushes were vibrating.

"hihihi that's it, that's… the… spot Ango" she said with labored breathing and a flushed face. The rosy red color on her face was locked in a battle against the white of her skin and it was winning.

"shish Nina everyone will hear" a boy with green eyes and dirty auburn hair. His naked body moved rhythmically between the girl's legs wrapped around him with his mouth on her neck.

"just.. hah ..keep..going"

The boy put his left hand on her mouth to muffle her voice without stopping his movement. He used his elbows to stabilize himself on the ground and grabbed a handful of her hair. The hand covering the girl's house was giving a her a sense of urgency that her body welcomed with open legs.

His movements were becoming stronger and he was now grunting when suddenly he heard the bushes moving and turned his head toward the sound.

The girl, feeling him stop, while she was at the edge, tightened her legs and started moving her hips forcefully toward him a few times and then shuddered and started squirming with moans escaping her mouth; her stomach jerking upward every few seconds.

The boy who was looking toward the sound was surprised at the sudden movement and was mesmerized by the scene beneath him when he looked down, he was planning to risk it all when-

Suddenly they heard a voice whisper "Well, seems I was right, stop whatever you're doing and come fast, it's almost curfew. Ango, you'll get 20 lashes if you're late again and your mom won't let me hear the end of it"

"Dad?!" the boy named Ango asked with surprise.

"What are you doing here dad?" he asked after taking his eyes away from the beautiful sight of Nina squirming underneath him.

His dad didn't answer the rhetorical question.

"Oh… we'll just be there mister John" answered Nina after a few seconds of catching her breath.

"Yeah …. I'll be right there" Ango said with a tone of disappointment.

Sensing the disappointment in his tone, Nina looked at him and said mischievously with a smile "we could continue for a bit more you know"

With conflict visible on his face, he struggled for a few moments but the memory of the last time he was lashed made the decision for him.

"no… let's go, I don't want to go through that again, not with that guy"

"Alright" she answered with a fallen expression but her mood improved a bit when he saw his 'spear' still erect and a smirk found its way unto her face.

They stood up and dressed, a task that was a bit difficult for Ango.

After they were dressed in their rags they started moving and saw a smiling John that was squatting amidst the bushes. He got up and asked "Done?"

Then he looked at a particular body part of Ango, smirked, and said "it seems not but we have to go" that's how John was, cheerful and friendly. He had told Ango that this was how he had won his mother's heart.

Ango groaned but nodded anyway and then they started moving quietly toward their house.

On their way, they saw elves in armors who were holding a kind of scroll made of leaves head counting in front of the houses with humans lining up in front of it. The elven guards were wearing brown armors, similar to tree barks. Whips could be seen on their sides; since they were inside the settlement, they had not brought their bows.

They sped up, now uncaring if the guards saw them since at this time each guard was responsible for a particular house so they wouldn't care for them.

As they were getting closer Ango's house Nina bid farewell to them and ran off towards another house, luckily the guard responsible for the house had not arrived yet.

The same couldn't be said about them though. They could see that the guard responsible for their house was shouting none stop for their numbers, meaning that he had already finished head counting and had found out they were missing.

"WHERE ARE NUMBER 16 AND 47?" the guard was asking Ria with a dangerous tone while waving around a whip.

None of the human slaves actually had a name, they were given numbers. Usually after they were numbered, one of the slaves would name them. According to their traditions, one person was taught names by the previous person who knew them and they would name the children after the older one had died. that's how everyone was named but the elves didn't care for that and kept using numbers to refer to them.

"WHERE ARE THEY???" he asked again and cracked his whip.

"the- the- they arrre just running a little late master, they will be here soon" answered Ria with fear visible on his face.

"DID I ASK YOU FOR YOUR OPINION NUMBER 19?? YOU FUCKING SCUM"
