"Have they settled the power ranking outside?"
"Don't you have the ability to know more than us?" Jake was confused.
"I was busy cleaning up the warehouse yesterday and had to fetch some people this morning." Kyle had no time to walk around aimlessly just to search for information.
Jake gave thumbs up and then gave general description of what happened outside.
In short: it was both chaotic and orderly.
Aside from some casualties on the very first day, the government and polices moved quickly to settle this matter. These awakened still couldn't beat guns, so when the soldiers were deployed, they all acted like a little puppy and followed the order.
They didn't want to die yet.
It would be better to follow the rules.
Some soldiers were tasked to clean up the dead bodies and they were all sent to crematorium. It was because the number of deaths were too many and it would be too difficult to arrange proper burial in such a short period of time.
Thus, the destination ended up being the crematorium.
Only a few number of people didn't end there because of their family's members influence and will still be arranged for burial.
The rest… couldn't really hope for that.
Aside from that, the soldiers also made several posts this morning near the entrance to various underground water channels. First was to guard ordinary people from entering, the second was to guard from these rats breaking out.
In that post, they could also register to enter but to do so, they had to prove that they had the abilities.
Either their hunter license, gun's possession certificate, or being the awakened humans that had been appearing.
Kate listened to Jake's explanation and sighed deeply. The society was changing and it seemed that it would be harder and harder for the polices to control these people in the future.
The government's system alone was already democracy, which gave considerable power to the masses.
And with this period of awakening power…
Kate believed that the structure might change even more in the future.
"Eat first and then we'll depart." Kyle decided after listening to Jake's words. "We're all awakened, so we should be able to fight these rats."
"Well, all of us had received military training back then." Jake shrugged. "It's not a problem to use guns either."
Dylan only nodded without saying anything.
"Meow."
"And you'll tag along. Your space is very convenient to keep items." Kyle rubbed Kate's head.
"MEOW?!"
Kate shook her head.
No!
She hated rats!
Damn it! Those rats were like giants in front of her and she basically had no fighting power. Asking her to raise her soft paws against those rats would be the same as asking her to commit suicide!
"I'll keep you in my pocket." Kyle arched his eyebrows. "Be obedient."
"Meooooowww."
