Chapter 15 - Arrested : Part 1

"Huang Ji, what are you doing here in the middle of night by running up the mountain? Are you okay?" Wang Meng said, patting the dust away from Huang Ji's clothes .

Huang Ji just smiled and did not answer.

When Wang Meng saw this he didn't ask anything else. He just ruffled Huang Ji's hair and said, "Don't run around at night, your grandpa is gonna worry about you."

Huang Ji nodded.

After listening to Liang Yuan's words, everyone thought that when Huang Ji was running randomly he found them by mistake.

Huang Ji didn't explain anything. His foolish character, was his best explanation.

He wandered to the mountain without a reason.

No one there thought that he could find this place on purpose. If Huang Ji explained it neatly then he might be suspected.

After Wang Meng saw that Huang Ji was in a daze, he and everyone else stopped paying attention to Huang ji.

The group of people went down the mountain. Lu Zongmin and others were taken to the police car. On the way, facing all the inquiries of the police, they did not speak a word.

Liang Yuan on the other hand confessed about everything including that she was part of a gang of thieves .

After today's torture, she started to regret her escape the guilt that year.

She has not done as much as the other criminals. If she had voluntarily surrendered in the first place, she would have been released in two or three years, and she would not have been disabled or disfigured like today.

"I participated in the case where the Golden Buddha of the Tang Dynasty was stolen from the Luoyang Tomb Museum last year. It is in the hands of my parents."

"They...have already run away..."

Team leader Chen had not spoken, Wang Meng quickly said the truth, and the young man next to him stared at Wang Meng.

Liang Yuan smiled bitterly and said: "I deserve this. I will tell you everything I know. I really don't know where the Golden Buddha is. Based on my understanding, my parents would definitely not take the statue with their personal belongings. They must have run away while hiding the Golden Buddha somewhere else. If you want to find the Golden Buddha, you'll have to get my parents back."

Everyone didn't know what the cultural relic case was about. All they signed up for was to solve the kidnapping case.

It took only two hours from the filing of the case to solving the case. The reason why it was so fast was that a kidnapper named Lu Zongmin wrote a blackmail letter to the police with his name signed on it which led the police here.

The team leader nodded slightly when he saw that she was being so honest.

He looked at the other thieves again, although they was very obedient, they didn't utter a word about anything.

"Who is Lu Zongmin!"

As soon as he said this, Lu Zongmin's face which was expressionless, moved slightly.

Wang Zhen and Hu Feng looked dazed. They didn't know each others real names.

But inside Lu Zongmin's heart he was talking to his inner self: What the heck happened, why do the police know my name? Its Impossible, I have never exposed this name, even among those arrested back then, they only called me Spectacles.

Although surprised, he also looked like he didn't know who that was.

When the team leader saw this, he didn't mind it . He raised his chin and said, "Take them back. Lets ask them slowly."

"Liang Yuan, we will take you to the hospital first. After your wounds are treated we will ask you the questions hope you will explain this in more detail at that time."

Liang Yuan nodded, and when she had just gotten into the car, she turned around and ruffled Huang Ji's hair and smiled: "Thank you, Huang Ji, you have saved my life."

Huang Ji smiled and said, "My grandfather has always said that we must abide by our moral reasoning ."

Liang Yuan was taken aback for a second before nodding her head .She then said: "Your grandfather is right..."

Immediately, she smiled, although her face was covered with scars now, she didn't feel as much pain as before.

"Police officer, lets go." Turning around, Liang Yuan calmly got into the police car.

Huang Ji watched the police leave.

What Huang ji said to her was to let her not change her statements later so that she would finally abide by her true thoughts rather than her false attachments to her adoptive family.

With her full cooperation, there is no need for Huang Ji to be involved in this case.

"You have to record your confession too, but you go back to rest first, and I will come look for you tomorrow." Wang Meng laughed.

Huang Ji smiled and nodded, Wang Meng sent him home personally.

Early the next morning, the police came to Huang Ji's house for questioning.

Wang Meng also accompanied them. The whole process was very smooth. The village chief also came over and praised Huang Ji vigorously.

The police also knew that Huang Ji was a fool, and the county police finally concluded that this was Huang Ji's abnormal behavior that caused the kidnapper's den to be found by mistake, and finally the two sides were embroiled in a fight until the criminal police arrived.

The questions were not too tricky. They asked very simple question, recorded the statements and left.

Then someone from the curator's office came over and asked whether he would be willing to appear in court.

Huang Ji looked at him in a daze, and the folks in the village supported him by saying: "Why does he need to go to court? Doesn't Doctor Liang know everything."
