"Don't call me that. Damon is perfectly fine." He said side eyeing her with an annoyed face.
"This is beyond weird to be honest, and that little bro crap isn't going to make it any better." He Added.
Kass chuckled a little.
"Oh relax, you were just talking about living life to the fullest and finding ourselves. I think finding a relationship as brother and sister is a good way to start."
Damon sucked his teeth a little while twisting his lips as he slowly nodded in agreement. They sat there for a while sharing stories about their own experiences with Leon.
It turned out kass knew about Damon but not in the sense as knowing he was her brother.
All she knew was Leon would stay with her for a couple days whenever he came there and leave to take care of some boy around her age in village city.
She explained to Damon that Leon never told her anything else and would always change the subject if she pressured him, but before he left the last time she was told that she would meet Damon one day.
Eventually they began to believe that this mission to come to this place was a set up for them to meet.
Thinking back on the mission and witnessing the strength and ability Maru and others of their race had. Damon didn't see any reason why they couldn't defeat the blow souse worm themselves.
He remembered about the blow souse worm having the ability to attack their bodies from the inside through lithification.
That was their sole reason of not dealing with the threat themselves,but looking back now Damon wasn't sure about that. In fact he believed it to be a lie because it wasn't adding up.
After sharing his thoughts with kass they both went their separate ways. It was beyond late, but surprisingly Damon wasn't tired at all.
He was walking when out of nowhere seer appeared beside him falling from the sky. She walked along side him like it was nothing of concern.
Damon smiled and said nothing as he knew she had been following him from the very beginning. From his first training event all the way till now. She didn't go into Maru's training facility and just waited on the outside out of sight.
"Hmph, so you knew I was following you. Yes, I wasn't sure at first because you kept a great distance, but I figured it out after the first event."
Seer said nothing and continued to walk along side him.
"How much did you hear back there. He asked. All of it, if you ask me your dad is a real jack ass."
Damon laughed a little while agreeing with a head nod.
Usually He would have said something to her about the ease dropping and following but seer had quickly grew on him. He wasn't completely fine with her actions, but it didn't bother him so much anymore.
They reached the inn they were staying at and went their separate ways. Upon entering his room he sat down on a bed with yellow blankets and white pillows.
The room was simple with a bed, sofa, bathroom and small projection screen in the corner.
He didn't watch the outside world much through live protection, but as he sat down he figured he would watch a little.
Anyone one at anytime could see what events were happening such as stadium battles, beast hunts/discovery.
Their were many live feeds out their streaming to all screen projectors on different signals. Their were also recorded functions but one had to record it from their own personal screen projectors.
Reaching over to a small green orb on the nightstand beside his bed. He pressed the arrow button up and down as this was it's only function. Flipping through multiple live streams he stopped on a male broadcaster filming someone hunting .
A dark haired man that Damon had heard of many times in school and just around village city as he was known to be one of the greatest beast catchers of all time.
"Hello world, as you can see Mr. Edinburgh has done it again. Not only has he managed to subdue four high matured pit vultures which are some of the most dangerous flying creatures on planet syair. He also caught two lesser prime beasts." The man reported.
The view turned to the side showing large bird like beasts with huge talons and beaks screeching and ramming the huge cages they were inside.
They were red and black in color with spiky feathers. They looked scrawny and kind of creepy looking with their twitchy body language as they pecked and hit the cages over and over.
Moving the view again the camera landed on two cages a good distance away from the pit vultures. Pacing around in the cages were two eight legged beasts that resembled Jaguars in color and patterns.
Their heads were wide as a car tire with fury ears that flopped on the side of their faces which had long thick whiskers the width of a pencil that moved around slowly.
"Ladies and gentlemen. The two lesser prime beats Mr. Edinburgh captured are some of the most intelligent cat like beasts known to man. A male and female Mutton panther." The blue eyed silver hair broadcaster said enthusiastically.
Damon watched the live broadcast until he fell asleep.
In a small room that looked to be made with nothing but sculptures of furniture instead of real furniture Maru sat at a desk with his legs crossed drinking hot tea while speaking over a link crystal.
"Did my people make it to your city gates on time. We received orders from Tesgara of the high counsel to aid you and your people with rebuilding your homes." Asked Maru in which sir hughes responded yes.
"So, the girl named kass is Damons sister and you would like for her to return with him to village city. Hmmm, I see no problem with that, but we do have a couple of things she must pass before hand."
"Since the attack on our village we have put in motion certain criterias to be met before someone is allowed entry no matter the reason." Sir hughes said.
"Yes, that's correct. Oh that's completely fine. I'm sure kass will meet whatever your requirements are. My people have raised her well." Said Maru.
"Very well, by the way. Are you and Leon going to let me in on what you two are planning. This silly way you two came up with to let Damon and kass meet eachother. Why was it necessary." Sir hughes asked.
Maru then took in a deep breath.
"They had to meet this way because it was the only way to set things in motion. According to....Maru paused for a second.
" The soothsayer, the grand prophetess."
Sir hughes head dropped as he began to massage his forehead in irritation while letting out a sigh of annoyance.
"After nearly four decades. She returns to meddle in our affairs again. Damn it all, and Damn her."
" I don't like it either, but the grand prophetess is one of the main reasons we won that war back then and you know this as well."
"That may be true but the way she does things are unclear and we lost so much thanks to that meddlesome woman. Sir hughes added.
"She appears whenever she sees fit, twisting and turning things in her favor at the dispense of our own lives. Everyone on this entire planet has been affected by her ways in a more negative light than a positive one." Sir hughes says tighting his fists.
"I agree, but we also know how not following or at least taking in her wisdom with consideration has affected our lives as well. Something big is coming. Its the only reason she is taking action. She is the only one that can give us a chance. We must at least heed her words Malcolm." Maru responded.
They both spoke on the matter for a little while longer before the call ended. Maru continued to drink his tea while in deep thought.
"I fear this time will be a hundred times worse than before. We all will have a hand to play in this." Maru thought.
The morning came and the squad gathered in the small lobby at their stay. surprisingly to all of them besides vora and Damon. kass was in the lobby waiting for them.
Vora had been informed by sir hughes on kass joining them thirty minutes before she got ready to come down.
After getting everyone up to speed about kass joining their group until they got back home. they set off heading for the exit.
The group had many questions regarding their new addition and learning she was Damons sister was a complete shock to them all which In turn, made them question kass and Damon more.
Damon gave everyone the run down about them learning of their kinship and they all seemed to be satisfied understanding all of this was new for them as well.
Kass said her goodbyes to her people and had a brief conversation with Luna, which was her main teacher and caregiver while she was there.
Maru didn't bother to show and say his farewells which Damon thought he was just being hard hearted a little.
The squad moved out as vora gave them instructions and directions about their next mission which was a E ranked mission.
