"Damn, this is not as simple as I thought."
Damon tried again and again but wasn't getting anywhere. His energy began feeling off and he became lightheaded. If my base form can't even take a step then I have to use the other."
He had regained his depleted energy from earlier and plus he still had 7 minutes left in his demonic form before it would reset.
Just like charging bolt or any attack he used that would activate on his command. The ki energy that was charged to form it would return to him if he didn't use it.
The same was for his demonic form when he didn't use the complete time for it. He could either cancel it all together resetting the time, or save the remaining time as it would not take any extra ki.
It had already been taken out previously and he didn't use his entire time limit in his demonic form.
Rather than resetting it to use more ki when reactivating, he just saved the remaining time as he made that mistake before when him and vora went up against the alpha shell wolf.
Just when he was about to activate his demonic form he thought of something. He thought about everyone in his squad with a higher power level. They were stronger than him in his regular form.
"I should strengthen my base form. After all my base form power level is linked to my demonic form because it doubles." He thought cancelling his thoughts to use his demonic form.
"Ok, it's not just weighing down my physical body but my energy as well. So is it a mixture of moving my energy to bare the weight and my legs or just one." He contemplated while focusing on all the energy he transferred to his legs.
As he focused hard he attempted to walk with using his own energy instead of his physical body.
He focused on moving his legs with his energy and could feel what the boy meant a minute ago. During this Damons eyes were closed and he had shut out all noise as he concentrated.
He could feel his energy pulling against another force that was pulling in an opposite way. As he began making his energy pull back the other way he felt the weight lighten up a little.
"That's it, I can do this."
He focused on pulling opposite of what the weight of the flipflops were doing and as he did the weight got lighter and so he focused on visualizing his feet taking a step. It didn't stop there as he repeated it over and over.
It then came to a point were his energy was tiring out. It was like his energy had become a complete extension of his body. He pushed on until he couldn't take the weight of the pulling anymore and opened his eyes.
The first thing he saw was a crowd of people, the same crowd as before erupting with cheers as he opened his eyes. The same black haired boy with blue eyes walked up to Damon giving him a pat on his shoulder complementing him on a job well done.
Damon was still not focused completely through all of this and as he looked down and back, he was only a few steps away from the starting point but everyone was shouting and congratulating him which made him confused as he realized the match was over and he had lost.
Not only lost but, came in last place. Damon was sweating profusely while trying to make sense of everyone cheering like he had scored the game winning shot in a basketball game.
"You did great. It's not often a guest of our age get that far on their first try. I see you have pretty good focus. You must meditate alot as it is essential for this event." The boy said.
Damon still hadn't said a word and finally straightened up his posture as his body felt like it had been through a lot within that short time.
He received a notification but was distracted by the boy who stood in front of him gesturing for a hand shake.
"Thomas,Damon." They said while shaking hands. He deactivated the flipflops by repeating the activating words. "Massburden"
The two walked towards the counter returning their flipflops and as they did tusk walked over with a smile.
" Very impressive Damon. You did well."
"Forgive me, but what are you guys talking about. I did horrible, I didn't even get anywhere." He said looking at them trying to see if they were just saying it because he was their guest or out of pitty.
Thomas let out a chuckle.
"Dude, we're serious. I didn't even move at all my first time and that goes for many people here. The fact that you took four steps on your first try is incredible." Thomas said with a serious, but happy face showing many of his teeth.
"He's right Damon. When I was your age, I only took two steps my first time. It's not a easy training game. In fact out of all the games here it's the second hardest. So like we said before. You did well." Tusk added.
"Really." Damon asked to them both.
"Yes, really. Take some pride in all your accomplishments, even if it's small to you. Everyone will not celebrate your accomplishments but you should. After all you're Leon's son. Tusk said
Damon's eyes widen as he looked at tusk hearing his father's name.
"Yes, that's right. I know who you are."
Shortly after. tusk,Thomas and Damon left the area heading to another training game. On the way tusk explained a few things.
It turned out tusk wasn't just a simple bijou. He was one with power because his father was the 5th chief and his older brother was the 6th chief of their people.
Tusk was the youngest son of the 5th cheif which meant the current chief of their city was his brother and the boy Damon and his squad saved was his nephew.
Damon also learned he knew his father pretty well.
"Your father saved me and my youngest sister when we were around your age. We would perform work for cities from time to time creating structures."
"Well my father the fifth chief was heading out to a city called Tarpon far east and boderline north. myself and my sister followed him without him knowing. We were the adventurous type of teens and well let's just say it didn't go so well.
We ran into a little trouble after losing sight of our father in Tarpon forest back when our settlement was closer to the crown kingdom borders.
Tusk didn't go into great detail but Damon now knew a few things.
Damon tried to gain information and as much as he could but tusk only could provide shallow information in a sense. Damon was looking for recent information like his father whereabouts but tusk hadn't seen him in over six years.
He learned his father didn't save tusks life once but many times on separate occasions and was well known by the bijou race.
"We respect all of our guest. Many here know who you are and we respect your father greatly. He is a kind, strong and interesting person to say the least." Tusk added as they walked into another area.
Thomas was tagging along and just listened while they talked until they reached a game called ring out.
Looking ahead, multiple 12 meeter circles were drawn out on the ground. Six of them to be precise. Sitting in Indian style were two people in each with their eyes closed.
Damon could feel twelve different energies battling eachother and could see them as well. One in particular caught his eye as a young lady facing another girl energy was captivating.
Damon watched with curious eyes as both auras clashed and Everytime one got the best of the other, their bodies would slide back.
"As you may have already figured it out. This game is exactly what it looks like. You get in a ring with an opponent to have a battle between auras. You must push the other person out of the ring and it must be done without moving your actual body. " Tusk said.
Damon understood the game well, as it was simple. Even though the game was simple he imagined beating anyone participating wouldn't be as simple as it looked.
They did the Same thing as the last game with getting tickets and waited for their numbers to be called.
While waiting Damon and tusk continued with their previous conversation.
"Its been so long since I've seen him but I know for sure Leon is alive. Not because of his strength but his stubbornness. He's the most stubborn man I've ever met. People like him don't die very easy I assure you Damon." Tusk said.
" You're right, he is alive and I'll make sure to find him no matter what."
