"As you all are aware this place is our very own guild hall. many of you I know and many of you I will get to know.
this building will be your life for as long as you want to be a guild member.
you will train and learn more about your strengths and weaknesses. you will be placed in your own squadron of seven members and there will be a test for me to select a squadron leader and a second in command for each group I choose."
sir hughes then instructed them to get in two lines and follow him inside. once walking in a couple of large white and gold flags could be seen hanging up high on flag poles. In old English text was their guild's name. The Hollow souls. the text and the patterns of the flag were gold while the majority of the flag was white. the patterns looked to be moving on their own constantly reshaping.
"right now this flag means nothing. it's up to you all and myself to give it a meaning. in your free time after squadrons are made I want each squad to present me with a symbol or graphic design for our guild and flag. only one will be chosen. this building has1 plenty of rooms so for the next two years this will be your home. you are to pair up with two people and share a room.
The boys will be upstairs while the girls will be downstairs. as our numbers grow it'll be your choice to go back to your regular homes with your family.
seconds later Bison could be seen entering with a large oval shape mirror looking machinery placing it in a corner, leaving and returning with another placing it in another corner. Sir hughes then walked up to them pulling out a blue colored crystal placing them in a slot that was on the mirror.
"this is a travel port. they have them set up in many places throughout the kingdom. when going on a mission that will take more than three days to reach or is labeled as urgent you all will be using these by setting the locations. I will explain more about it later so for now Pair up find a room and meet me at the stadium.
Damon and jolly got a room while copper and steel found one as well. calvus ended up sharing a room with Bay.
Levy and vora shared rooms while Alice paired up with a girl named blossom. the same mongrel that had the power to heal.
Afterwards everyone arrived at the stadium where sir hughes had created a series of tests.
"you all will have to complete tests I have prepared. these tests will determine who I will place in your squadron and who I will select as squad leader and second in command. I'm sure you all were expecting some type of field tests that would show off your skills but no, I already know your skills and power. but one thing I do not know is your mind.
please take a seat in the stands. Bison will give each of you ten papers with very detailed instructions. each paper is a mission explained very thoroughly. I want all of you to answer how you would go at taking on these missions. I want you to explain every choice you would make with every situation clearly. with every choice you write down it can be erased but only two times per outcome and after every choice there will be a reaction to the paper and the mission according to your choices. that is all. complete all ten missions and then you may leave. you will know my decisions by the end of the day. you may begin." sir Hughes said while taking a seat far away from them along with bison.
"why did you decide to test them in this way and not simply create real scenarios on the battlefield as missions. asked Bison.
Because it's all about their minds. Just think about it. There are no wrong choices but there are better choices. with them writing their choices that gives them time to overthink. those papers are not normal. once I put them into my machine it will tell everything that has ever been written on them no matter if it was erased. what I am looking for are people who are going to be able to live with their choices not ones who overthink the situations. Sir Hughes explained.
So whoever erases a lot has no confidence in themselves to make choices and stick with it for themselves and their squadron. hmmmmm I believe I see your logic. I wouldn't want a person that overthinks situations to lead. Bison responded.
Exactly, they all have great potential but that doesn't mean they are able to be leaders." sir Hughes says.
"I saw that your son and my niece had a pretty exciting battle while we handled business at the capital. ahhh yes I had the pleasure of watching that myself. your niece gave him a much needed beating if you ask me." Bison laughed a little as they both continued to talk about the footage.
Damon was contemplating about a part of the mission he was reading.
"hmmmmmm, the opponent has my squad out numbered and our location and cover has been blown. the enemy is now on their way to apprehend my entire squad and i can see them coming. i only have approximately 2 minutes to make a decision before they arrive.
this outcome of the mission was a result of Damon's previous choice. once making a choice the mission would change depending on that choice giving them the outcome of their choice.
"Damn it I must have made a bad choice earlier. I believe I passed the other three missions but this fourth one has been a little tricky." he thought.
an hour had passed and only 12 of them had completed all ten pages. calvus and vora were the first two followed by copper and mumsy. the other eight were a mixture of people. soon Blossom, Jack and kimbo were done followed by Levy, Bay and John locket. the same boy that was in the free for all battle.
Berry wade, jolly and Damon finished after them and an hour later everyone else did as well. During that time Bison and sir hughes talked about many things but one of the main things was what they had learned once they returned which was about the hyencalue and what happened to Damon.
"you know all of the mongrels side and I know all of the soul master's side. I suggest we put our information together to form their squads. I feel you are a good judge of character." sir Hughes said to bison after they received the last few tests.
Everyone else met back at the guild hall. some stayed out chilling in the break room and other rooms on the bottom floor that were made for many people while a few went to their rooms.
Damon and jolly were currently in a room that had a very long sofa in the shape of an L. there were six tables and stools all around along with a small bar. the floor had blue and white carpeting and it also had a fireplace. it looked like a large study area and living/Dinning area at once. there wasn't any drinks or anything at or behind the bar. they believed this area was made for adults but their weren't any adults in the guild so far.
"so, you think you did well. jolly asked Damon. yea, at least on the first few I'm sure of it but the rest I will say it was a bit of a headache.
I agree with you on that. steel says walking up and sitting down after overhearing jolly questions. right behind him was copper and Bay. they all talked about the test along with certain missions.
" it seems like we all had the same missions but in different orders. I know one thing, that was a lot of writing and explaining. I don't think I've written that much In just a couple hours before." copper said wiggling his index finger as if suggesting his little finger had it rough with all the writing.
they all agreed it was a lot to be writing. just then vora, Levy and blossom walked in and sat at a table.
"Daaaaamn, is it me or all three of them got banging bodies. jolly said. all three of them have on something different from when they went to take their tests. he also added.
"they must have gone and changed clothes in their rooms." Bay said.
They all had on thin tight leggings. vora had on a black pair that stopped at her knees while leavy and blossom had on a long pairs. which were pink and blue. they all wore white shirts but vora's stomach area was cropped out revealing her sexy sixpack. it didn't look overly muscular like a man. it looked smooth and well defined.
"never seen girls wear stuff like that. yea what type of material is it. I'm guessing it came from their planet. they must have dimensional storages as well. Damon said replying to jolly and steel.
