Only dead things as well as objects could be stored inside his dimensional storage and so he dug a hole at the foot of a tree and covered them back up while marking the tree by carving an x in which he planned to pick them back up on his way back to the city.
Damon decided he had enough bull birds and planned to find something else. he had never gone beyond the area of the bull birds before in the past because of how vulnerable he was but it was a different story now.
he walked until he came out of the grey leaf forest on the other side reaching a small river around fifty yards in width.
"hmm some fish would be nice but I don't have any equipment with me to catch any, or maybe I could just try this."
he says kneeling and submerging one of his hands in the river. he then released a small amount of electricity and within seconds three fishes floated up to the top unmoving but was quickly carried away by the flow of the river's current.
"well good to know that works well, I guess I should find a part of the river with a slow current or else the same scenario will probably occur again." he thought.
He followed the river down for a few minutes and realized the river color had changed and seemed different in some way, it now had a thick silver liquid on top flowing with the current. he could clearly see whatever the liquid was that it was different from regular water due to its separation from the water itself. like how oil mix with water separates itself because of the difference density the have. that is how the river now looked.
using his oversee skill information popped in his line of sight.
[territorial waste from a silver back eel. A silver back eel is an aquatic beast that loves to live in rivers. it is rarely seen and uses its own waste to mark its territory. they are highly aggressive but will disappear without a trace if a bigger threat than themselves are near.]
[it is believed the maturity level of the silver back eel can be determined by how much waste is within their territory.]
"so it's shit and piss, the hell ewww no way I'm sticking my hand in that." He thought as he continued to walk alongside the river bank. it felt like he walked at least a mile before the waste of the silver back eel couldn't be seen anymore.
He finally reached an area of the river that had a slow current and was actually more shallow than what he had seen so far.
Activating oculus he could see within the water as if he was actually submerged in it which surprised him a bit. It turned out he could only still see so far but could see the outline of many fishes, slight vibrations coming from their movements and tiny heat signatures as well.
"blue gills and yellow guppies it looks like." he thought to himself.
Damon then submerged his hand in the water again releasing a small electric wave as thirty or so fish floated to the top of the river. "well shit I guess I have to get in to get them so here we go might as well have a little fun." he said getting up taking a few steps back getting a good running start and taking off his boots.
yaaaaaaaah!
spoosh!
splash!
ripples and small waves were made as Damon balled his body up in the air and jumped in the river.
puh puh!
Damon resurfaced spitting up a little water that got into his mouth waving at Javalin who was laying on the river bank. "come on girl, the water is cold but it's great."
He then swimmed back and forth grabbing hold on each fish shoving them into his storage. they had shocked and died instantly because of the water being a surperb conductor for electricity. Damon noticed this and was happy he didn't use a large charge of electricity or the fish probably wouldn't have been any good.
while thinking this he decided to try and get as many as he could to come to the surface as he dived down around ten feet. he still had oculus active and could see many more types of fish and many were 5 times larger than the ones he had just got which were around 10 to 15 pounds each.
Damon could see the bottom of the river where most of the big fishes were, he knew if he got too close they would swim away and so he focused on swimming in place while submerged and emitting a small surge that was still strong enough to reach the bottom.
clasping his hands together Damon generated a small ball of electricity the size of a marble. Damon thought about how his demonic ki would pulsate and thought and focused on how to make it the ball he just created to pulsate but in waves that would spread to certain ranges like a electromagnetic pulse.
He calmed his mind and felt the energy within the ball and slowly released a small wave of it while holding the rest in. he could see a wave of electricity leave the ball in a circular radius but disappear after a few feet. he repeated the same steps over and over until he had to come up for air.
afterwards he dived back down and focused once again. it took a few more times coming up for air but felt if he added a little more push with his mind he could make it happen. this time he focused on releasing 4 waves of electricity at a time and noticed each wave that was behind another actually pushed the one in front of it further. seeing this he realeasd 6 waves of pulsating energy and within seconds he could see many large shadows rising from the river floor all around and once they got closer he could tell it was a plethra of fish in mazy sizes and many different kinds.
swimming to the surface he could see over two hundred fishes floating.
"yes yes I did it Javalin look at all this food." he said splashing around in the water all smiles. Javalin just lifted her head up and licked out her tongue a few times before stretching it and laying it back down.
"ahhh well you're no fun, woah some of these fishes are pretty huge."
Damon started swimming around and with a simple touch they zapped away into his storage. fifteen minutes had past and he only managed to get a little over fifty but made sure he went after the biggest ones first. the current of the river was gradually getting stronger making the floating fish move further away from where they originally were. they would drift regardless but at a very slow pace.
it wasn't until the current of the river increased again that he felt something wrong. looking up stream the same way he had come from he saw the water moving oddly like it was alive. by the time it clicked in his head he was in danger a large wave appeared and crashed into him submerging him completely. Damon twisted and twirled gargling water trying to yell but of course it was useless underwater.
After his body stopped flailing around underwater he looked all directions in a panic while holding his breath and swimming in place. his eyes eventually were set on something but he wasn't sure what it was. large yellow circles appeared in the distance and seemed to be getting closer.
"e,ey,eyes." he said subconsciously.
a large and long figure could be partially seen as somewhat facial features emerged. it moved side to side slowly and stopped 30 meters away. high bladed fins could be seen that seemed to be silver in color.
"silver back eel, but, but I'm out of it's territory so why attack me." Damon thought.
The eel eyes were still and focused and its body remained unmoving as it just watched Damon like a little helpless fish that could barely swim. a creeping pressure could be felt and it slowly began to grow. "I know this feeling, it's different but yet the same. Sir hughes popped into his mind as every bone in his body wanted to yield to the large pair of eyes that seemed to look through him. Its using will."
Damon felt his legs and arms get heavier as if his body wanted to stop moving but he knew he couldn't or he would sink and drown so he did what had to do which was fight back.
fighting the unnerving force that was trying to hinder him helpless a purple electric current vibrated within his hand. his focus wasn't clear, not with the silver back eels will, pushing on him and so it was incredibly difficult for him to harness his power. His power sparked up and faded a few times but he managed to summon it still.
the silver back eel saw this and a set of teeth were shown as it opened it's mouth. it's mouth was so big Damon believed it could swallow him whole.
"hmph I think you're too focused on me." Damon thought to himself as a sizzling and boiling ball came from the darkness crashing into the eels side.
Boof!
the eels body thrashed and turned opening it's mouth like it screamed in pain. Damon released his demonic ki out of his palms as purple electricity shot out. another ball of boiling water came from the eels other side crashing into its face with greater force than the first one.
Boof! Boof!
the sound of explosive impacts were muffled because they were submerged.
A snake beast with a head the size of a cantaloupe swimmed up beside Damon. it's blood orange underbelly as well the blood orange spikes and scales underneath could be seen glowing.
Javalin's mouth opened as a black flame was seen shooting out. the submerged flame moved effortlessly as the water around it started to boil and evaporate, the type of heat her attack was putting out was like a barrier against the water surrounded it which surprised Damon.
