What's this?
I blocked the blazing sun that blinded my eyes with my hand. The sky was blue and there were no clouds in sight. I looked down and there were many people. People my height and looked to be around my age. Some looked either a year older than me or a year younger.
They all wore uniforms. Perhaps this was a school.
What was the school doing here?
I wondered why there was this place, I also wondered how I came here. I was in the darkness a few moments ago and now I'm here.
Someone tapped my back. I turned around to see who it was. They looked at me, smiling.
It was a male. He had an attractive face, light green eyes and blonde hair. He also had an athletic physique and was tall.
"Why are you staring off into space like that, Yosuke-kun?" The boy said.
Yosuke? Who the hell is that?
The boy looked confused. I know he expected an answer but there was no reason for me to answer him; I didn't even know him.
I walked off to where the other people were. I need to find out what this place was. I realised I was holding a bag in my hand.
"Hey, Hashimoto-kun!" A feminine voice called. I looked back to see a girl, a few inches shorter than me. She had long brown hair which went below her shoulders and brown eyes. Her looks were average however she still somehow looked attractive. "Where're you going with my bag?"
I looked at her for a few seconds before turning around and throwing her bag into the crowd. I heard someone running behind me so I moved out of the way. It was the girl from before and because I moved out of the way, she tripped and fell over.
Oh right, I have magic.
I tried to cast a spell to teleport away but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't.
"What's with him?"
"Maybe he's a chuunib." A few students laughed.
People talked about me and laughed at me. I tried as hard as I could zone them out of my head but it was useless. Their voices haunted me.
I tried to live peacefully while trying to gather as much information as I could about this world.
This world closely resembles the world of the humans before I had gone to them and told them about magic. I was in a place known as Japan. Luckily they spoke a language I knew so I understood them.
My name was apparently Yosuke Hashimoto and I was the average student with average grades and average life. I have recently started my second year at Okazaki Nishi High School. My childhood friend and best friend, Shiro Arakawa and his girlfriend, Ayako Aizawa who I haven't met yet. The girl who tripped over after running was Shiho Nakamura who is a girl I'm supposed to be close with.
Although it has only been an hour since I have come into this world, I have some amount of knowledge which would be enough however I cannot leave this word because I do not know how. I also need to find out how I came to this world as well.
"Ugh." A student sighed. "There's a test today."
A test? I wonder what types of tests they have here.
A booklet was given to everyone in the class.
This is a test?
I admired the booklet which sat on my desk in awe. I couldn't remember much of my past life. I cannot remember anything before I saw darkness however I do have vague visions from time to time. Since I've come to this world I've had at least three visions.
This is easy.
After I had completed all the questions, I looked at the time to see how long I took. A minute had passed and I finished the test and now I had around an hour and a half left to do nothing.
What do I do now?
I caught someone looking at me from the corner of the room. I stared back at them. It was another male student. He had a bizarre hairstyle and hair colour and looked muscular and athletic. He looked at me in confusion.
Perhaps the person I was now, previously wasn't as good at academics and now that I had finished all the questions so quickly students who knew me would probably be stunned by the sudden change.
The student looked back at his test paper. He then flipped through the booklet and each time he flipped a page he looked at me, each time with more confusion.
"Oh, sorry, someone here has a college-level paper. Whoever has it can put their hand up." The teacher said.
Everyone flipped through their papers and went to the front to see what level their test was. I also did the same and surprisingly, it was mine. I raised my hand.
"Hashimoto—"
The teacher stopped speaking and looked at my paper in shock.
"Hashimoto-san, how did you get all these questions right?" The teacher asked me.
"They were..." I replied.
I didn't need to lay low in this world.
I have to go back…no…that place was torture.
Why should I go back? I could live here in peace.
"They were extremely hard but I still did them." I replied. The teacher didn't believe me completely.
"This is the test paper." The teacher said as he gave me a similar size booklet.
After an hour and a half, the test was finished. The teacher collected all the test papers and we all waited for the next set of tests.
We all went home after the school day ended and most students were in groups.
"You acted weird in the morning today." I looked back to see Shiro Arakawa.
"Oh yeah, I'm sorry for that. I had a lot on my mind." I apologised to Shiro. Although I didn't come to this world of my own will, I could use it. "Shiro-kun, how about I make it up to you?"
"Huh?" Shiro stared at me with confusion.
* * * * * *
"This is my treat!" I said. Shiro and Shiho both looked confused. They were both sitting on the opposite side of the table.
"Didn't you have…problems?" Shiho mumbled but I heard her.
"Financial problems? It's fine." I said. They didn't believe me and I could see the guilt in their eyes.
"You don't need to apologise for today like this. I'm sure you just had a lot on your mind." Shiho said.
These two won't even take this opportunity, it seems they truly are Yosuke Hashimoto's friends.
"Please get something! Anything! Please!" I cried. Everyone in the restaurant looked at us. I saw the two get embarrassed as everyone watched with judging eyes.
"Fine! We'll order!" Shiho pouted.
They ordered and then we parted ways and went home.
Now for the next person.
I walked around the town that I was in. Although it was nighttime, the cities were still brightly lit with the artificial lights the humans created.
"Please…stop…" A girl cried.
Perfect timing.
I heard a girl cry out for help however no one was around so there was no one to help her, apart from me. I walked towards the voice and found that she was trapped in a warehouse-type building. I kicked open the door and it seems that most of the strength that I honed for multiple eons now left me. I was only left with less than a percent of my strength however it was enough in this magicless world of peace.
I looked inside the warehouse. The warehouse was dark but I could make out a few silhouettes. Five people were surrounding one helpless human who grovelled on the ground.
I could see them!
My senses were sharp as always. I could see every little detail on the group's clothing. I could hear everything. Every little sound was like the droplets of tears hitting the ground.
"Who's there?!" A man yelled.
"My current speed and strength should be enough." I muttered to myself. "I'm just someone who was passing by!"
"Yosuke-kun?" The girl on the ground mumbled.
I heard a zipping sound before the group ran towards me, all wielding baseball bats in their hands.
"You guys are quick!" I yelled to mock the group. One of the people then threw their baseball bat at me with meticulous accuracy and speed. "Thanks!" I said as I caught the bat.
I held the bat in my hand. I then threw it back at the person who threw it at me. The impact of the bat sent the person flying into the wall behind them.
"I'm sorry!" I laughed as I held the neck of the person who tried to attack me on my left. I threw the man onto another person and the impact of the throw knocked the two out.
Two left.
Another person held his baseball bat in his hand and came at me while throwing it. I dodged it however the bat changed trajectory. The person had a chain connected to the bat and on his wrist so he could bring back the bat anytime he wanted.
I went behind the person and grabbed his arm and with one leg I made him slip and as he fell to the ground I used his arm to push him down into the ground.
One left. Oh, they can hide. Behind, top left.
The person jumped at me point-blank. I sensed them and dodged them while delivering a fatal blow to their solar plexus.
I walked over to the girl who was still quivering in fear. The moonlight shone on the girl's face, revealing her identity.
"Ayako?"
My plan had worked. I haven't been in this world yet I already have progressed with my plans. I smiled at Ayako and my progress. Her clothes were ripped and Ayako covered her breasts with her hands. I took off my blazer and covered Ayako with it.
"Yosuke-kun, how did you do that?" Ayako asked. Her eyes were glimmering in the moonlight.
"I did a few push-ups." I replied with a smile.
Interesting.
