Chereads / The Alpha's Saviour / Chapter 17 - Facing The Vampires

Chapter 17 - Facing The Vampires

Jerry splashed another bucket of water on Jessica, making her makeup wash away.

She closed her eyes, disappointed.

"Wake up, darling." Jerry gave a tumble of protest in his throat. "You need to watch this."

Adrian growled at him, angered by the way he treats his mother. Too bad. They chained him up.

Jerry moved closer and warned. "Shut the heck up, else?!"

"Whack!" He gave him a scratch with his paws.

"Ugh!" Jerry reacted to it and turned back to him with an exasperated sigh.

The scratched healed in an instant.

"Nice try, Adrian. But now I see that you'll never learn." Jerry walked to where he kept the gun and loaded some silver bullets from the drum of liquid wolfsbane.

Watching this, Stormie was petrified.

"Sorry about your boyfriend, mum."

"No, I should be the one apologizing to both of you. You deserve better... I'm sorry Stormie, I didn't believe you. Love and affection blinded me. Adrian, I would make you transform back, even if it's the last thing I do. I know I'm not that perfect mum, only if your dad was alive, none of this would have happened."

Stormie turned to Jessica, rolling her eyes. She hated the fact that she easily gives up a fight because she's a woman.

"No one is, but you are our mum. You are our dad, you're the only one for us, mum." Stormie encouraged. "Just take responsibility!"

"Grrr...." Adrian whimpered, as if agreeing.

"Stop the boring family meeting, would you?" Jerry hissed at the three of them.

"Jerry, why are you doing this? I thought you loved me!" Jessica's eyes filled with tears and her heart shattered, knowing they'd come to this. It was unimaginable that the man that treated her like a queen a minute ago could treat her this badly. He even bought the ball gown and shoes for her as a surprise package.

Jerry couldn't hold back his simper. "Love.... How delusional humans are. I have zero feelings for you, Jess. You just wanted a fine man, and I played my part well."

When he moved closer, she looked at his eyes and teeth. Terrified.

"Are... Are you really a vampire?"

"Whahaha! Isn't it obvious?" He crackled at her ignorance.

Jessica felt a pit forming in her stomach as goosebumps crawled on her skin. She couldn't believe she liked someone this heartless.

"Fine... You win! Let my kids go. You can do what you want to me." She begged.

Jerry gave a serious laugh at her. "Aww, Jess. You know what your problem is? You think too highly of yourself." He walked closer to her, looking at her disgustingly with his glowing eyes and sharp fangs.

'Tsk-tsk-tsk-tsk', his lips smacked.

"I've been waiting almost 300 years for that castle. And I will not let some poor, infested humans like yourself and your stupid werewolf son get in my way!"

"But you have the castle now." Jessica's voice trembled as she begged. "Just take it and let them go. If you need blood to feed on, you can have me. Please, don't hurt my kids. They're all I have left!"

Stormie looked up and there was an open space from where she was chained to. The moonbeam kissed her skin and her vision blurred.

"Ugh, my head." Stormie murmured in pain. While Jessica kept on pleading. Her muscles started clenching. Stormie gave a choking noise, like someone drowning in fluid. The air from her nostrils to her lungs hooked up her breaths.

"Just do this last wish for me. Let them go."

"Unfortunately darling, I'm not a fairy, a merman or wizard to grant your wishes. I can't officially take possession of Wolfsberg manor if there's a living Alpha werewolf, so I would just end your kids right now, right here. End of discussion!" Jerry spat on her face.

"No one ever reads the contracts. You just signed up and smiled like the foolish lady that you are. Where were we.... Yes, killing the werewolf?"

One more look at the moon, Stormie's eyes turned maroon red. She closed her eyes, trying to focus on herself. Her mind burbled and her bones stretched.

"Grrrr!" Adrian howled, trying to cut the thick chains, but failed.

"Relax." Jerry pointed the gun at Adrian and, about to pull the trigger, an aggressive growl interrupted.

"Grrrrr!! Grrrr!!" the sound came from Stormie.

Jessica gazed at her daughter and realized she had just transformed into a werewolf.

"Let me guess, she just turned 14."

"Yes, last month." Jessica replied him.

At once, Stormie jerked off her arms, and the chains broke like tiny threads.

"Get her!" Jerry commanded.

Three other vampires ran towards her and with one wolf-roar at them, they camouflaged into bats and flew away. Stormie's transformation wasn't just a wolf. It was the beast, an alpha wolf with standing ears and huge, ape-like stature.

Her growl made the underground, cave-like passage tremble.

"What the...." Jerry cursed underneath his breath as he watched them fly away. "Such fools! I would never hire lowers again!"

Stormie jerked off the chain on her other arm and threw it at Jerry. His claws threw it away, making him hang upside down, batlike.

Jerry pointed the gun toward Stormie, but she grumbled louder, with all the strength in her. Dusts broke here and there, and the entire building began shaking. As if it would collapse any minute.

Jerry looked up, and the dusts powdered on his shiny pale face and black hair.

"You know what? I'll meet you outside!"

He wall-crawled and vanished from their midst.

Watching him leave, Stormie cut Adrian's chains and also released her mum.

"Oh, my... Stormie, Adrian. I can't believe my kids are werewolves!" Jessica looked at both of them with tears of joy pooling down her eyes. "Stormie, I need you to stop Jerry. Let him pay for what he has done to us!"

"And Adrian... We really need to get you home. To find a cure for you before sunrise!"

"Owwwww!" Adrian's howl intervened.

"Ooowwwwwww!!!" Stormie joined.

"Okay, fine." Jessica raised her hand in surrender. "Go, Stormie! I'm proud of you!"

Stormie went after them while Jessica helped Adrian out of the pub house through the secret passage. As it is, he was beaten up and tortured by Jerry's goons.

Getting outside, Stormie ran towards the graveyard. With her sense of smell and sight, she perceived their acidic blood from a distance. Getting there was cold and grave-silent as usual.

Stormie looked around, trying to find them. 'Could they have gone invisible?' she wondered, looking around.

From above, Jerry, in his black flying coat, jumped on Stormie, kicking her down from the back. She tried holding him, but he grasped her from behind. Digging his long claws into her body and at once, he threw her away. Stormie's body scattered the standing graves and statues. Immediately, she held herself up, undefeated.

"Grrr! Grrrrrrr!!" Stormie snarled, and the ground started breaking.

Jerry ran and Stormie followed, not giving up. She grabbed him and kicked him against the ground. He was strong, but she was stronger.

Just then, the other vampires gathered. The dark sky thundered, and the weather went icy. Colder than before. His veins started hurting again. The air was intoxicating.

As if they had extra powers, a canopy of clouds covered the glowing moon. The sky was as dark as the swelling wave of the ocean before the rushing waves. Even the stars that twinkled like secret eyes were hidden from sight. Stormie turned to them and the smell of their vampiric toxicity increased.

With focused eyes, the vampires moaned at her, warning her off. Holding a weapon each. Jerry touched his pocket and realized something was missing. 'The gun with silver bullets.... Where is it?'

Taking their positions to attack, Stormie growled at them. One after the other.

"Kill her already!" Jerry instructed.

They flew to her at once, hitting her enormous body aggressively as if digging a well. She jerked off, and they flew off her body like shreds of flesh. They hurt Stormie. She staggered, trying to gain stamina, but to her surprise, she was. Her giddy eyes raised up to the moonless sky. She was indeed ready. Opening her palm, she took out the gun and shot at the vampires, watching her to fall.

"Kpoooh! Kpoooooh!!" Two got shot at the heart while the rest disappeared into the night air.

The night was like a veil of darkness over the earth. Stormie looked through and fro. It was silent again. Too bad they were always hiding and running off. The way they've been doing for years. All she wanted was to end them once and for all, so everyone would be at peace.

Taking a turn, a heavy blow landed on her Jaws, and Stormie fell down, unconscious. Jerry and the other vampires came out of their hidden places. Her burry vision saw them moving closer towards her and she was too weak to move. Let alone stand or fight back.

"You are really troublesome, Stormie. Even in your wolf form." Jerry snapped, taking the gun that was now under his black, shiny shoe.

"Just give up already and accept death. No one can save you now... Too bad. You will die and I will still execute my other plans tonight." He said cynically. Pointing the gun at her.

No... It was a full moon. Today was the Wolfsberg Alpha saga. Stormie had a duty to fulfill. She needed to protect Wolfsberg, the manor, and her family.

Painful grunts escaped her breaths as she struggled. She tried standing, but all her body was heavy. Stormie so wanted to howl. She knew other weres, if they were apart from Adrian, would come join her in the fight, but she wanted to do this. As the leader of the pack.

She became giddy upon standing up so fast. Tumbling back to the ground, weaker.

About to pull the trigger, she pulled up at once and deepened something at him. He made a squashy sound and Jerry coughed out blood. Others turned to her, with their jaw dropping to the ground at how fast she was. Stormie stabbed a iron-steel stake through his heart.

It was one of the stake supporting the vines and fence of the graveyard. Trying to say something, Jerry's blood burbled out of his lungs and it took a while before he finally gave up and passed away.

Instead of fighting back, other vampires ran off. Unable to face Stormie. Looking back at Jerry's white body, she carried it over her back, walking through the dark woods.

Meanwhile, Jessica and Adrian came out of the pub house. They had to pass the busy market. It was almost midnight. People increased and most people in Gothic costumes were awaiting, already. The moon wasn't even visible. Some thought it was all a lie.

Thinking Adrian was in costumes, he and Jessica walked through the market. Some passersby glanced as they passed through.

"That's a good costume." a guy hailed from behind but Jessica pulled her son closer. Trying to get a cab to take them home, the full moon gently glowed out of the dark clouds.

"Owww! Owwwww!! Owwww!!!" Adrian's howl echoed and people turned their heads in his direction.

A taxi stopped in front of them, signaling them to enter. Adrian sniffed. As if smelling danger in the air, he ran eastwards.

"Where are you going, son? Let's go home!" Jessica called after him, but before she could even complete the sentence, he had disappeared into the thin air.

"What the heck!" Jessica cursed. Confused on what next to do. She got into the cab to check on Sir Shkodra. She needs to be sure that there was a cure somewhere. Jessica squeezed in her wet ball gown and the driver turned on the car engines, speeding down the road.

Adrian, who was weak a while ago, felt stronger. His body released a purring mechanism, making him howl again and again. Kicking anything he encounter on the road, he could hear her scream from the distance. Just then, he saw the building where her voice came from. It was Maria.
