Chapter 84 - WE ARE DOOMED!

She should have ended that human when she had the chance. The scrawny human was smarter than she expected, she already wiggled her way to Zamiel's heart. She already..... she was now Zamiel's beloved officially. And Zamiel, what is wrong with him? Why would he fall for her, a human, a bait at that? What was he thinking? Whatever he is up to would cost all of them their lives. Beebah stole a quick glance at the loving couple feeding each other. She couldn't help herself but clench her fist with the dog food the couple kept feeding her and the rest. No she has to keep her emotion in check or she might regret it it; besides, it's just few days left, and everything would be back to normal. She ( Mira) can go back to being a spoilt princess with her "Husband". She took a deep breath to help her unsteady emotions. She quickly straightened up seeing one of the men approach her. Her pathetic mood vanished into thin unveiling the no-nonsense mood on. She had that impatient and arrogant air around her.

" What?" She asked with the toughest tone she could come up with. She was aware he wasn't fazed at all by the aura she tried to create for herself. She glances at the man taking a seat beside her. The guts! She thought within her.

"It's about what Ramon discussed with us the other day. It would be wise for you and for everybody to accept the truth and move on. You know Zamiel can't help us any longer, we can't rely on him anymore" The burly man named Azrael said as if chanting a spell or an incantation. "He must have rehearsed all this " Beebah said- within herself. Azrael was not a man of words instead he was a man of action.

"I'm in" She responded, saving him his breath and decreasing his sense of uneasiness - she was pretty sure he can't hold it in any longer.

"Good" Azrael responded with that look that says "You've made the right choice". She nodded in return, before getting up from her seat to leave his company.

" We meet this midnight" Azrael's voice sounded from behind making her halt in order to digest the info, she resumed with exiting his company after digesting his words.

"This was getting messier than she thought. Zamiel just proved to them he'd rather put their life on the line than to miss the opportunity and moments with his " wife". He'd give the group up for that scrawny human. Uggh! She growled kicking on dried leaves. She was in the woods obviously there to find comfort in nature like she have always heard from people. But it was all lies, nothing works! Not even her life! Not to talk of love. Love isn't as they explained it. Yes, it feels good but it doesn't make her feel good, instead it made her hurt the more in silence. Tearing apart in silence, dying silently with no one to cry out to in times of pain cause everybody has their own pain which they are nursing.

She just wants to cry but no matter how much she longed to, the tears refuses to breach its dam and burst out. She was too cold on the inside, she nurtured herself in that way forcefully. She sat down on the filthy ground, hiding her head between her legs.

She quickly raised her head up in an alarming manner. The signal, they've just signalled her. It was midnight already? That was fast, did she sleep off?. She asked rhetorically in her head, getting up on her feet to meet with the rest.

"Three days is what we have left " Ramon's voice echoed in her head like a chiming bell. "Before all this ends. Believe it or not Zamiel.... Zamiel wouldn't be able to save us this time around. "

"So what do we do now. "

"Kill or get killed". Ramon replied with a serious tone dreaded with fear, they could all feel it - the disaster that awaits them, knocking on their door.

" Fight?" One of the men named Uriah said. "So you mean there's no plan than to fight?. You called us here to tell us that?" Uriah spoke with distaste.

"You like it or not, that's the only way out - to face the sour truth" Ramon returned with the same energy, maybe a little bit stronger than Uriah's." I know you all know what's going on so let's not pretend about it". He added with a tiny dash of gloom.

"So we lose the money?." Uriah shot back cutting into Ramon's motivational speech. Ramon shot him a deadly glare but who cares, he chose to ignore it. The main reason he decided to join this "trip" was because of the money, and if there's no money..... Well is it not time for him to back off?

"So all this while, all this time we've been travelling, suffering under the scorching sun, fighting trolls. All those was for... nothing?".

" It'd be, if you die" Replied Ramon, shutting Uriah from ranting any further. And sure it worked, it shut him up.

"There is still a chance of we getting the money, remember we still have power stone with us. So that gives us a step ahead of them." Ramon reasoned, he had his hands placed behind him elegantly as he paced back and forth like a military man giving a speech to the squad. He stood by the campfire surrounded by his audiences.

"We must get that money and at the same time escape. But the only problem on ground is that Zamiel is willing to put our life on the line for her." Ramon explained with a stoic expression, stealing a quick glance at Beebah's hurt expression.

"Trust me, you might think you are strong enough, you've trained your whole life but what is in front of us is far worse than you think". Ramon's patient voice turned grave and threatening suddenly.

" What do you mean? What are you talking about!" Uriah voice was overwhelmed with fear but he didn't care what anybody thinks. The rest felt the same -threatened, but they all had the talent of hiding their emotions so well.

"The dark elfs, they work for Ramiel". Ramon announced, arousing thousands goosebumps on the group's skin. What have they gotten themselves into?. The dark Elfs were known for their undeniably perfect skills in physical combat. Their reputation spreads far and wide all over the realm. The mere call of their name brings fear into the heart of the old and young because they were also popular for their wickedness - they are said to have been born like that - cold and merciless. No kingdom wants to go against them and the last but not the least they don't work for outsiders, they are committed to their nation only. For Ramiel to have dark elves for henchmen or assassins then they were surely doomed.

" Oh my God!" Uriah exclaimed in fear, placing his hand on his forehead like a worried mother. The rest of the group couldn't hide their fear any longer, though they looked super composed on the outside but their dilated eyes gave off their cover, unveiling everything they felt including what they were thinking. Ramon took a glance at everyone of them in silence, satisfied he finally passed the memo to them successfully.

"We are dead" Uriah, lamented in fear, totally unconcerned about what the others think of his attitude.

"No we are not" Ramon assured with a stern look, shutting Uriah up for the second time.

"Yes we are. " Uriah returned with a much stern look at Ramon. "We are just existing for the main time. We are talking corpse. Did you know that a dark elf blade must not pierce you not to talk of cut you, if it does, then your chances of survival is Zero" Uriah explained fretting like a child. "Only they possess the antidote. And no dark elf is willing to spare a drop to anybody.

" Well, that's the reason why I said we had no choice but to fight. Running won't take us no where, they will surely find us" Ramon explained, switching back to his stoic self.

"How many dark elf do you think he has?". Phillip asked, finally deciding to interfere in the matter.

" I'm not sure. But the maximum would be five".

"That's too much" Uriah exclaimed pathetically, earning himself everyone gazes.

"I know, that's why we have to use the power stone we have in possession wisely. They had the power to attack us and snatch her away but they didn't, for fear we might act irrational. So they waited till now"

"But it's irrational still to face them, don't you think?" Uriah reasoned.

"At least it's better than to die without a fight" Azrael chipped in with utter distaste.

"Can't we just have Zamiel speak with her for us. She's our only escape, she's the only one that can save us believe it or not." Phillip reasoned with a serious face,
