It'd been over a week since the incident of Wendy finding out about her system and she had learnt enough about it to know that It'd be a big help to her getting her mother out of poverty.
As soon as her biological clock rang, she was out of bed and had a brief morning exercise before making a simple breakfast of fresh tea, toasted bread and fried eggs. She added grilled tomatoes, onions and some chopped parsley.
She wrote a short note for mother, telling her not to worry on a yellow post-it note before leaving the house clad in a simple blue knee-length dress with her waist-long hair made in a French braid.
The early morning sun shone brightly on Wendy as she made her way through the crowded streets, thinking of a way to earn money to improve on the living conditions of her and her mother. As her eyes roamed the streets and stalls, she saw a notice for an available vacancy available at a cafe. The vacancy for the spot of a waitress.
She quickly went into the café to try her luck. The woman who interviewed her was unwilling to hire her because she felt that Wendy looked too young and soft to handle any hard work.
Before she could voice out her rejection, she heard a customer shout in agony and turned to see that a waitress of hers had spilled hot tea on a customer.
She immediately grabbed and nearby napkin and diligently wiped the table before offering tissue to the customer. After her apologies, the customer calmed down looking at her fair and beautiful face.
Seeing that she managed to placate a customer and did do without even being told and noticing her diligence, the boss decided to hire her on the condition that she maintained this attitude and was always professional.
Wendy immediately got to work. She served as many customers as she could and managed to get a huge number of tips on the first day of work only.
'This is the first step of a lot I have to take in order to ensure my mom and I live well.'
After her day shift ended, she walked around the street by stopped short her blood running cold. She saw a face she thought she'd stay away from for the rest of her life.
She clenched her fists in anger as it took everything in her to stay where she was. She knew that it was too early for him to know anything about her and start his schemes but the thought of all she'd been through made her want to deal with him mercilessly.
'Since you refuse to stay out of my life and appear in front of me, this is probably a sign that I shouldn't let you be at peace for what you did. Steve, I swear to make you regret everything you did in my previous life. Along with you, I'll torture every single person who played a rule in ruining mine and my mother's lives", she swore to herself.
At that moment, she heard a 'ding'.
"Master, you've just received your very first mission. You have to help the Mr. Zu, arrive safely to his destination. He is being stalked by some thieves and once tou accomplish this mission, you'll get 10 points."
Baobao's voice rang in her head as she wondered what had happened.
'Who is Mr. Zu? And where is he?'
'He's currently in the alley on your left", Baobao responded as she saw a panel with a map displayed in front of her with a red beam of light flashing at the alley displayed.
