It was a sunny day. The Cackling Crow Agency building was in peace and quiet as always. Faust is sitting on his chair admiring the sun while drinking his tea. *Bam* the door to his office swung opened. Alex, looking nervous and anxious frantically entered Faust office.
"Sir! Sir! Jamal! Jamal!"
Faust eyes widened. He quickly stood up from his chair and walked to Alex. He grabbed his shoulder and shook it a few times.
"What happen to Jamal?!"
"He.. he.. he is in the infirmary."
"What?! What happen? Tell me what happen. No we can not stand here. Take me to him and tell me what happen while on the way."
"Let's go sir."
They walked quickly across the hallways.
"A few minutes ago, I got a message from Jamal saying that he is near here. He told me that he wanted to meet me to give the information he got on the Snow Alchemist. He then sent me a location to meet there. When I arrived there, I saw him leaning against the wall covered in blood and cuts. He also seems really cold. He breathe out cold air when I found him. I immediately called the medics from our agency to treat him and take him to the medical room."
"Was he attacked by the Snow Alchemist?"
" I am not quite sure but the possibility is there."
"Alright, we will listen the story from him."
They arrived at the medical room. Faust pushed the door opened. He saw doctors tending to a brown skinned man with golden eyes and dark red hair. It was Jamal. He has bandage all over his body.
Faust and Alex walked over to his bed. Jamal was half conscious. His eyes was half opened.
"How is Jamal's condition, doc"
"He is good. He has some cuts here and there but mostly light cuts. There are two deep cuts on his thigh and shoulder but not life threatening. His temperature was really low before but now his temperature is back to normal. He needs a week or two of rest."
"Thank you doc"
"It is nothing Faust. This is our job."
The doctor walked away leaving Faust and Alex near Jamal's bed.
After a few hours, Jamal regained consciousness.
"Boss you are here? Where am I?"
"You're in the medical room of our agency. Alex brought you here."
"I'm sorry for troubling you Alex and thank you."
"No prob. Can you tell us what happen, Jamal?"
"Yeah, I want to know what happen to you at the western district." Faust chimed in.
"Well, it all started when I arrived at the western district. I went around snooping here and there to gather any rumours about our Alchemist. I then got a lead on where he lives so I made my way there. I stayed around the house the Alchemist lived to gather if there were any talks about him. There were a lot. He rarely went out of his house but I confirmed that is the Alchemist. He has snow white hair and a scar on his lips. The grimoire he use has snow white cover with a little bit of cyan.*Cough*cough*"
"Here drink some water first."
"Gulp gulp gulp. Thank you. One day while I was snooping around, suddenly there was a sound of rumbling. A few minutes later, the Snow Alchemist house collapsed revealing him standing amidst the rubble. He was holding his Grimoire on his left hand while chanting something. When he finished chanting, a blizzard and snow storm came. It was so fierce that it froze the people near him and the ground he stood on turned ice. I quickly ran away from there but a few icicles flying around cut me here and there. I got two deep cuts on my left thigh and right shoulder as I made my out of the area."
"Is he going berserk? But why? I never encounter any berserked Alchemist before. Has he gone mad trying to improve himself?" Faust was muttering to himself.
"When I turned to look back, the area I was in before was completely white and the temperature was really low that I could still feel myself freezing."
"It is the Snow White World spell."
A man suddenly appeared out of the shadow.
"Farik. Do you know what happen to him?"
"Yes. He made a contract with a demon."
Faust was shocked by the statement. Farik nonchalantly just told him that there are demons in the world. He just confirmed Faust believe on the existence of demon.
"You knew about demon?"
"Yeah. We are told by our teacher that demon do exist. And she told us that there is way to summon demon."
"Summon demon?"
"Yeah, summon. The method has long been lost but it seems Ruth found it."
"But why? Why did he has to summon a demon? Why did he want to?"
"For more power of course. Snow White World spell is a high class spell can only be used by a really powerful Alchemist. The person must be below two stage of the stage that most of the Colours are in now. And Ruth is not in the stage yet. His strength was supposed to be five stages below me. But he suddenly gain an explosive power."
"Is that all? For more power? It surely makes sense but is that all?"
"He made a contract to invalidated the blood pact. Right now, there is demon power inside him contaminating him slowly. The magic of the blood pact will slowly be corroded by the demon power invalidating it."
"Then, what will happen to him?"
"Then, he can kill me but I can't kill him."
"So that was his true purpose. The level just gone up a lot. I am not quite confident to kill a demon contracted Alchemist. I don't even know if I could face him."
Farik looked at Faust with a serious face.
"I'll help you. I might not be able to kill him but I can face and subdue him. Because the blood pact is slowly corroded, the restrictions on me has also become loose. I can at least hurt him."
"That is reassuring. Now it's time to make some preparation. Let's go Alex! To the basement."
"Yes sir!"
"Rest well Jamal. Thank you for bringing me the information. I will make good use of it."
Faust, Alex and Farik leave the medical room and they walked towards the basement to prepare for the upcoming fight.
