Chereads / God Hunter Malfroy / Chapter 4 - Curse of the Sun

Chapter 4 - Curse of the Sun

"Let the battle begin!"

Yohana with his newly acquired weapon was powerful, it was strong enough to even cause damage against me if it had landed an attack.

The Archangel initiated the battle against me, taking the Longsword and swinging it once more. Despite its thick and heavy nature, it's speed far surpassed his previous evolution as an Angel.

My eyes lit up in red once more and time slowed down, my perception of time was slower, and my speed was faster. The eyes of Four worlds gave many advantages in battle, and it's what I even used to move at speeds faster than my opponents.

Yohana missed the attack while I dodged to the side, my hair blowing in the wind.

("He's using that speed technique again, constantly getting faster than me, despite my new obtained evolution… Tsk, what a troublesome foe.")

Yohana gritted his teeth, spinning around to increase his momentum once more, and coming to attack me again with the Longsword. Once the attack approached me, I jumped over it.

"!!!"

Yohana's eyes widened to see he missed his attack, and that I was above him, slamming the heel of my boot right against his head, and slamming him into the ground below.

"…Impossible!"

He felt the initial blow send him to the ground, blood pouring out his head from my attack, though he started to heal.

"I see. Now that you're an archangel, you can heal your Astral-body if it takes damage."

I undid my buttons upon my trench-coat before throwing it to the side, and sending it into the wind.

"I'll just have to try harder with you. Cmon then, show me what you got."

Nebula would disappear from my grasp now. Proceeding forth, I placed my arm behind my back, as the other was in front of me teasing, and gesturing him to attack me.

Yohana stood up once more, however this time he stuck his Longsword into the ground, four large pillars of light surrounded the heavy blade.

"Divine execution!"

He was already adapting to his archangel powers so quickly, I couldn't help but smile…

My arm stretched forward and a three-dimensional setup of four circles appeared in front of my palm.

"Fumu. Bring it on."

I chuckled. Yohana proceeding to attack me with his new profound ability, sending a tsunami of white lightning throughout the barrier from the four pillars, in which was countered by the four three-dimensional circles in front of me.

"That could've done some damage if I wasn't to absorb it…"

I stored away the divine white-lightning into my Inner-Dimemsion.

"Where did it go? That attack was suppose to erase you from existence!"

Yohana in shock had questioned me, proceeding to grab the hilt of the Longsword even tighter with both hands, removing it from the ground.

"…You monster…"

I looked at him with a grin, the four circles in front of me vanishing.

"As I told you before, there are four worlds you must know. The Physical world, the Inner-dimension, the Spiritual world, and the Ideal world that I haven't told you about yet. In terms of the Inner-dimension, I have full control over it, and can utilize its effects, while also storing things there that causes harm to me, if I choose to do so."

The longsword of the archangel began to accumulate with holy energy.

"This Inner-dimension seems to be a problem… however, can you contend with me while also protecting MILLIONS?!"

My eyes widened slightly.

"…You will regret it, Yohana."

A fierce glare shown upon my face, and in that moment he had cut the Steam Flux's barrier with a wave of holy energy.

Once the barrier broke, gusts of winds came from the inside, pushing Dorothy and Carol back.

"H-Hey he broke my beautiful hard work!"

Dorothy shouted in anger towards the Archangel who had been seen soaring into the sky.

"Malfroy are you letting him get away? He broke through the barrier, do something about that guy!"

I looked up into the sky, my body getting weaker…

"Carol, Dorothy… look behind you…"

The two of them had glanced behind their backs noticing the sun rising.

"O-Oh no, it's morning already, then that means—"

Carol was shocked to see how much time had passed, which placed me at an massive disadvantage…

"What is it God Hunter Malfroy? You won't stop me?!"

The archangel in the sky shouted from above, while a wide grin shown his sadistic tendencies…

"With this power I can… do… ANYTHING! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

He extended both arms to the side, one hand holding his Longsword.

"I am unbeatable! I have obtained true power! The ultimate power of an archangel!"

Damnit, I couldn't do a thing… this curse still binds me… it just binds me to its power.

("It all happened years ago, the day I was born")

[Age: 2 Months]

[Year: 1,500, during the Middle Ages]

"What an healthy youngster, he shall grow to be as thy mother, strong and rich in glory."

A bearded man sat next to a woman inside of a tent.

"He is my boy, his name shall by Malfroy Dunnerville, my pride and joy… my flesh and blood."

The mother gently held her baby closer, however a sudden panic outside had awoken the sleeping child.

"GODS HAVE MERCY! HAVE MERCY GODS!"

People outside of their tent ran away screaming, horses began to neigh, some galloped along the pathways of the poor village.

It sounded like the apocalypse.

"What is happening my dear?"

The mother questioned the bearded man.

"Is it another raid? Those damn Bandits are back for more?!"

The father gotten up from the bed, walking over to his small barrel, taking out a sword and placing an helmet upon his head.

"We will not let our village fall to a group of bandits who think they have the right to own us, and take what we have! I'll slay them, along with the other men!"

The father approached the tent, as the mother crawled backwards on her bed, until she reached the corner of the tent. The screaming steady gotten louder… as if they were all in pain.

"GyaaaaaaAAHHH!!!"

A man fell straight through the front of the tent and inside their home, his body lit up with flames, burning him into a crisp right in front of them.

"D-Dear god, Walter do something!"

The mother yelled out in terror, watching the man die in front of them, threatening to set the entire tent ablaze.

"Hold thy self steady!"

Walter ran to grab a bucket of water they used for their bath, dumping it upon the poor fool who lost all hair on his body, even his skeletal structure shown from his severe burns.

"T-The Sun God… he killed us… he killed us all!"

The last words coming from the burnt man's body had terrified the family.

"The Sun god is killing us…? B-But why? We have done nothing to upset our lord Apollo!"

The mother began to tear up, her eyes in disbelief.

"Dear, this isn't happening! What have we done to upset Apollo? We have followed his ways and done what he has wanted for very long!"

Walter looked down at the burnt man who finally passed away, frustrated at the situation.

"My dear Emma… we do not deserve this, that much I agree. But we cannot win against the authority of a god… it's impossible my love."

The fathers hopeless eyes shown themselves clear as day, proceeding to take off his helmet.

"A LIGHT IN THE SKY IS UP ABOVE— GWAAA!!!"

One of the villagers shouted outside, soon dying afterwards.

"Walter, what is it?"

Emma gotten up and ran over to her husband with baby Malfroy.

"We must see for ourselves…"

They both ran outside of the tent, surrounded by burnt corpses… not one soul survived, not even the horses, nor the other tents.

"Ohhh, what is this? A group managed to survive the heat of the sun? What a pleasant surprise, even your tent isn't incinerated into ashes."

The light in the sky was none other than a god itself, Apollo.

"You've all done a terrible sin, betraying me."

It was nothing more than a ball of light hovering down until it materialized a human form, showing the god himself before them.

"Bringing in the scriptures from another religion. How treacherous! You all deserve to perish before me!"

Apollo angrily stared at the family who stood upon corpses of burnt villagers.

"L-Lord Apollo, we done no such thing! Please listen to our reasoning, we have no clue on these scriptures! We only follow you!"

The mother rocked her baby which started crying loudly.

"P-Please listen to my wife Lord Apollo, we have no clue on what is going on. We will follow you and dedicate our lives only to you!"

Walter kneeled down on one knee.

"Just please, listen to our truth…"

Apollo crossed his arms, his eyes looking off to the side until a wide grin shown creeping along his face.

"I'll forgive you two… if the wife hands over herself and become my bride!"

The God extended his arms to the side.

"How about it? Become my wife and I'll spare your husband and your child, both!"

Walter looked up and began to stand upon his feet.

"L-Lord Apollo, but—"

"Quiet!"

The god shut Walter down instantly, pushing him onto the ground.

"You only speak when I tell you to speak. Do not interrupt a god, and let your wife answer first!"

Apollo approached Emma with a charismatic grin, his hands raising themselves to just touch her neck, rubbing along her body as if she was a delicacy.

"The deal isn't too hard, is it, my dear Emma~? Come be with a divinity, one that you'll never get to experience unless you're my wife!"

He leaned his head in closer, Emma having a shadow covering her eyes.

*SMACK*

Apollo eyes widened, staring at the woman's face, he realized she just… slapped him?

"Don't you ever…"

Apollo blinked a few times, trying to process such an absurd action.

"Ever ever, ever disrespect me and my family again! I am the mother of this family and I've worked hard to take care of my child, and to provide food for my family! You being a god… means that you don't know what it's like to struggle and work hard for things! You can always get what you want or create them from thin air."

Emma's eyes were fierce, like a mother lion protecting its cub.

"My husband has done just as much as me as well, he is my soulmate! Without him I wouldn't be here, and Malfroy wouldn't be alive!"

Walter looked at Emma, his nervous expression becoming that of a smile.

"Emma… my love. You're in front of Apollo himself and yet—"

Walter dropped his head down chuckling.

"Ahahahah… and yet, you still show resilience towards those who disrespects our family."

Walter stood up and approached Apollo who was still in shock.

"My wife has decided, she will not take your offer."

Apollo balled up his fist… all the sudden the surrounding areas temperature would increase even more than before.

1,000° degrees fahrenheit, 10,000, 100,000, 100,000,000, and so on.

The temperatures steady increased, and yet the family was fine…

"What is this…? Why? Why won't you three just DIE FROM MY FLAMES? I AM THE SUN GOD, I AM APOLLO! JUST PERISH!"

Apollo steady increased the temperature, becoming hot enough to even burn space itself around him, yet it didn't effect the family.

"Damn you THREE, JUST PERISH FROM MY AUTHORITY! I OWN YOUR LIVES AND YOUR FATES FROM MY AUTHORITY! THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!"

The Sun god stepped back a few times, watching as the family in front of him had stern expressions, powerful enough to leave the god scared out of his wits.

"That child… he's the source of this problem?"

Apollo gritted just teeth, staring at the child inside of Emma's arms.

"Just what is he…? There has never been a record in history to where a human can resist the authority of a god…"

Apollo suddenly stopped in his tracks, the temperature going down.

"I see. It's almost as if he's a singularity, I cannot tamper with him at all, nor can I change his fate. This will be a problem not only for me but the other gods as well… so I'll curse him instead."

Apollo raised his hand towards the child.

"…?"

The mother and father risen their brows curiously.

("They won't know it, but I'll place a curse upon their child. Whenever the morning sun rises, he will lose his power, but in return I'll be sacrificing myself to keep him at bay. I will not let him ruin the future of us gods, no matter the cost!")

A seal suddenly appeared on the side of the baby Malfroy's neck, Apollo now disintegrating slowly…

("This family is mysterious, I haven't a clue to how they birthed such an child… but all I know is that I have to stop this child from ever reaching full power, no matter the cost!")

Apollo had now become transparent.

"Perhaps this was my destiny. Dear godheads of Sephirot, I will give up my life in order to prevent future disasters!"

He risen his arms into the air laughing.

"Ahahahahahaha! Ahahahahaha! I Apollo, all of you will remember me forever! I will be the most historical god to ever exist!"

His voice echoed before he faded away, disappearing to never be seen again.

Malfroy unknown to what had happened would now start laughing, as any clueless baby would.

"Let us go Emma, we will find shelter."

Walter grasped her arm, pulling her in close.

"Yes my dear… let us…"
