"I apologize about the boy."
Stated by a woman with long, wavy cream-colored hair that was styled with a waterfall braid above her hip.
Her gesture was kind, and her voice was calm like placid water in a lake, but even so, Khalid felt like he was sitting in the middle of the mud ever since he took a seat on a soft cushion in front of the saintess for a tea.
"It's an unsightly scene, isn't it?"
She added as she peeked at Khalid, waiting for him to respond, but then her forehead wrinkled, noticing how he gracefully sipped tea without paying attention to everything she stated.
It made the saintess tightly grip her cup as she carved a rictus-playful smile on her lip before she continued to speak.
"I heard you paid a large amount of gold just to meet me, so what made you do that?"
The saintess put down her cup as she stared into Khalid with her alluring eyes, but seeing how he stared at the gigantic door beside them made her grit from frustration.
The room was lavish enough as it was covered with precious jewels and stones; even the saintess was mesmerizing to look at, but then everything inside the room did not catch any of his attention, and it almost reached her nerves to the point that she made a hostile look while Khalid still gazed upon the door without noticing how the saintess formed a smirk on her lip.
"Are you worried?"
She teased, knowing that she could catch his attention once she discussed something about his companions that were left in the hall of the temple.
And just like she expected, Khalid looks at her in the eyes but immediately avoids it after seeing how apathetic they are.
"As you are aware, only those authorized by God may meet me-"
She merely finished her words when Khalid spoke.
"So how much money do I have to throw in this temple to get a free pass?"
He asked sarcastically while his eyes pierced into her, making the saintess turn mute in a minute as she boiled from rage.
The angelic look on her face immediately changes into the face of a madman with a vicious look in her eyes, as if she were losing patience with him, knowing how he had responded rudely to her.
"What do you want?!"
Her eyes were covered in schemes without breaking eye contact with each other.
*Clank!*
Khalid then puts down his cup as he interweaves his fingers like an old man.
"Give me the antidote; that's all I wanted."
He stopped and glanced at her.
"But even so, a saintess could treat any disease without it, wouldn't you?"
He mocked her, which made her explode like an erupting volcano.
"This brat! Are you questioning my ability?!"
She was trembling in anger while she stated those words from her mouth, and seeing it, Khalid could not stop himself but to form a smirk on his lips before he affirmed some words that were enough to make her go berserk.
"I would not do such a thing, ma'am."
The saintess could feel her face burning from his words, making her inhale tons of air from her stomach.
"Ha! I see."
She spoke with displeasure.
'You would regret this!'
She thought as she let out a victorious chuckle from his mouth, but still, Khalid did not pay any attention to her behavior because he knew that something was already off from the beginning.
'One, two, three. No, there were seven of them; I could feel their presence.'
He thought as he gazed upon every window inside the room, and when the saintess went silent, Khalid immediately knew what was coming.
'I knew it! This woman is up to something! '
Though he didn't panic.
"You said you were Khalid, right? The new king of the abandoned land, then you must have forgotten who you were talking to."
She spoke as Khalid stared at her blankly.
"I am Agnette, the saintess and the law of this land!"
She answered with such confidence.
"No one would dare ignore me!"
After stating those words, the smile on her face was evident after seeing how Khalid threw up blood in his mouth.
'I'm just going to scare him a little; an ample amount of poison is enough to teach him a lesson.'
She thought, and before she could even blink an eye, an arrow shot at where Khalid was sitting, surprisingly she was left frozen on her seat instead when Khalid swiftly vanished into the air just to find him pointing the bayonet at her neck.
'I-imposible! That redocaine was enough to make his legs go numb!'
Her eyes widen in disbelief. She could feel how sharp the tip of the bayonet was pointing at her neck as her blood slowly dripped from it.
As Khalid was about to swing the bayonet to detach the saint's head from her neck, a fountain of blood burst on his arm while he found his right hand on the floor that seemed to have been cut in a distant place, but instead of groaning in pain, Khalid's contagious smile could be seen visibly while he swings his right hand so hard that magically grows back on his arm.
Seeing it with their own eyes made their jaw drop, which made them lose track, without knowing that Khalid could move as fast as a lightning bolt making the saintess pet panicked one by one as Khalid mercifully butchered their bodies.
Some even get confused by his speed to the point that they slash the neck of their companion until one of them is left, and with that, Khalid goes behind him without him knowing his presence, which makes Khalid hold the guy's head so tight, twisting it like a knob.
'No-no!'
The saintess could not move an inch as she could not also dare to look behind her, especially when she felt the same sharp thing pointing at her neck.
"So, Dear Saintess, won't you help this brat?"
The whole room turned into a mess in just a minute, as if it had been attacked by a hurricane; the curtains were torn and the chopped bodies of the people, who were all wearing black, were scattered all over the floor as their blood splashed everywhere in the corner.
"Now what? Did your tongue get cut by the cat?"
He whispered in her ears leaving Agnette eaten by confusion and terror.
'No way! Why can't I feel his heartbeat? Is he even breathing? No, is he even alive in the first place?!'
A sudden thought popped into her mind: Even though he stood so close to her, she could not hear or feel the beating of his heart or even the breath that was supposed to come out of his nose and mouth.
Because of it, Agnette was immediately taken aback after feeling the chills creep on her nerves. Her plan to scare him has gone too far, to the point that she dug her own grave with her lousy plans.
And when the tip of his blade slowly came closer to her neck, she started to panic.
"This is a sin from God!"
She shouted at the top of her lungs, which made Khalid stare blankly at her before he responded.
"I don't believe in God."
He smirked while Aganette tried so hard to keep the bayonet away from her neck.
"Are you nuts?!"
"Kinda?"
When she felt that Khalid wouldn't show any sympathy, Agnette immediately stood up and tapped Khalid's hand as if it took needles for her to swallow her pride.
"Fine, I'll give you what you want! Now put that thing out of my neck!"
She tried to slap his hands, but before Khalid let go of the saintess, he cut his hand first and made her drink his blood, and all of a sudden a luminous light came out of the saint's body along with the ancient Roman symbol that formed on the ground which both of them stood.
After a few minutes had passed, he let go of the saintess and tore a piece of clothing off of the guy who had attempted to execute him earlier, using it as a polish to clean off the blood on his blade.
*Bang!*
Both of their attentions were caught by Reinhardt who was covered in sweat while wearing a bothered expression on his face.
"Milord!-"
He immediately turns silent when he notices the surroundings and the saintess, who's left trembling in anger while kneeling in the mud of blood.
"I'll explain what happened later."
Khalid then affirmed as he continued to wipe off the excess blood on the tip of his blade.
Just then, Reinhardt immediately spoke without catching his breath, which made Khalid lock up his attention to him as he began to panic.
*Huff!*
"Ha!! Huff!"
"It's about the kid!"
Khalid froze because the only person who came to his mind was none other than Lillibet, and seeing how much Reinhardt urgently burst into the room, a mixed thought entered his head, which made him wish it did not happen. But after hearing her name come out of his mouth, his mind began to sink.
"It...-It's Li-Lily! She's gone awol!"
Hearing that, the window glasses and the statue inside the room shattered one by one into pieces as Khalid let out a murderous, dark aura from his body.
