Chapter 15 - Duel

Leon took out his sword from its sheath and pointed it at James. "Young Lord James Johnash, I challenge you to a duel." Leon said.

"Hahaha, you challenge me to a duel? Fine then somebody get my sword." James yelled proudly.

Immediately, a servant ran to James holding his sword.

"Give me that sword!" James yelled as he took the sword. "I accept your challenge." James said glaring at Leon.

James unsheathes his sword and points it at Leon. They both take their positions.

"Are they going to be okay?" I asked Will. To be honest, I was more worried about Leon than James. "To tell you the truth, this is the first time I will watch an actual duel." I said.

I had seen my grandfather practicing with the knights and Richard. They were preparing for future wars, etc. But this was my first time seeing an actual duel. I was nervous and didn't want anyone hurt especially Leon.

"Don't worry. This is not a serious duel." Will assured me. "But, they will surely sustain some injuries." Will said.

Thinking of Leon made my heart beat faster.

'What's wrong with me? Isn't it normal for a knight to fight for his master/lady? Why am I feeling that I don't want Leon to get hurt?' I thought.

I started hearing the sounds of their swords clashing together. I was getting more worried by the second.

Leon was moving fast. His moves were swift yet elegant. Every stroke of his sword was made with precision and accuracy.

James on the other hand looked like he was having a difficult time. His proud and arrogant face was now turned into a serious one. I could see the sweat dripping off his forehead.

Leon was striking with full force whereas James was just taking steps backward and defending himself.

Only a few minutes had passed but it felt like a lifetime. I looked at James and saw some visible cuts that he got. I also saw some parts of the clothes stained with blood, whereas Leon looked the same as he did when the duel started.

"Ahhhhhh." James said. He had tripped on a stone.

"Surrender." Leon said. He was hovering above James pointing his sword at him.

"Never." James said. He gave an angry look at Leon. Suddenly, he took a handful of dirt and threw it at Leon.

"Ahh." Leon screamed in pain.

"That's cheating." Will said.

Then, James lunged at Leon at started pointing his sword at Leon.

"Noooo." I screamed. I didn't want Leon to get hurt.

I heard the sounds of the swords clashing again. Then suddenly, a sword was flung into the air and dropped on the ground.

When I looked to see who got disarmed, I saw that James was the one who got disarmed.
