"Crown Prince Regaleon George Asten of Grandcest." I heard my father the king say behind me. "It's a pleasure to grace us with your presence today." he continued.
"Crown Prince?" I asked. That's when I found out why his name sounded familiar, he was one of the princes of Grandcest. I just knew that the royal family had five princes and one princess. I thought that the princes of Grandcest were still fighting for the position of Crown Prince but it turns out they had already chosen their Crown Prince. And to think that they decided on their youngest prince as their Crown Prince. He had just turned 17.
"It is my pleasure to be here with you all your majesty King Edward Heist Johns of Ethiopia," Regaleon replied.
"You are just as bold as the rumors about you say. Stealing the first dance of the third princess before her father." my father said as he giggled. Just then my stepmother entered and she was staring daggers at me as I was next to Regaleon.
"I am sorry. I didn't know that there was a custom here in Ethiopia that the princess had to do the first dance with her father." Regaleon said with pride and boldness as if he didn't care. "I just wanted to dance with the third princess and didn't see any problem. I hope this didn't offend you your majesty, King Edward." he further continued.
"Haha, not at all young prince. I am sure that the royal family of Grandcest is known for their impulsive nature. I'm sure you must have been taken aback by her beauty." my father replied.
"Yes, indeed we are very impulsive. We make sure to get whatever we want." Regaleon said.
There was some tension between my father and the crown prince. Their words were coated with respect and love but deep down I could feel that they were deeply insulting each other.
"Crown Prince." a very tall young man approaching Regaleon said. He was taller than the Crown Prince and had short dark brown hair. I saw him whisper in Regaleon's ear. It was undeniable that he was the prince's aid.
"I am sorry, but I'll have to cut this visit short. A very important matter has opened up. I am sorry to leave your ball early princess Alicia." Regaleon was talking with me.
"It's okay crown prince. I wish you safe travels." I said.
"Thank you, princess Alicia, for letting me dance with you. King Edward, Queen Rose I'll take my leave." Regaleon slightly bowed and soon left with his aid.
"Disrespectful young man." I heard my stepmother say.
"Now Rose do not make a scene." my father whispered back. "Their kingdom is much stronger than ours. Their military army is also bigger and stronger than our kingdom. We can't offend them directly." my father continued.
"Hmph." my stepmother said. She turned to leave. Before leaving she gave me a deathful stare with sent chills all over my body.
Prince Regaleon got on a carriage with his aid and soon they went off away from the castle.
"Your highness, everything has already been prepared according to what you have said." his aid said.
"Very good, David." Regaleon said. "They have something coming up their sleeve. I want to know what it is." he continued.
"Your highness, about the third princess Alicia Heist Johns... are you sure about this?" David asked.
"Alicia Heist Johns. I have never had second thoughts. You know that well, David." Regaleon said with confidence.
"I understand your highness." David said as he bowed.
In the royal family of Grandcest, a king having many wives was a custom. They would spread the blue roses' seeds and broaden their lineage. But for a prince of Grandcest to give a blue rose to a lady of noble and high-class birth or someone of a royal family means that he wants her to be his first and legal wife.
The first time Regaleon put his eyes on princess Alicia. Seeing her blonde hair and blue eyes, seeing her unmatched beauty, he knew that he had to make her his wife and the queen to stand by him.
Regaleon opened the curtains of the grand carriage and took a look at the night sky. The dark blue sky and the bright yellow stars twinkling in the sky. He remembered the blue eyes of princess Alicia.
"Princess Alicia, I'll make sure that you become my queen and stand by my side." Regaleon whispered to himself.
