Chapter 69 - Clingy

That night, Prisca made sure to get every juicy detail from how Audrey spent her evening with Lucas. Laughing giddily with a flushed face even if she wasn't with him, Audrey recounted how nice their evening was.

"Oh wow!, That is so romantic!", Prisca shrieked over the phone, she continued, "I never thought your boyfriend was the type to be that romantic!", "Yeah, I could say the same!", Audrey supported.

"Well, that's how it should be, don't you see the way he looks at you!", "You don't have to tell me twice, literally, everytime we are together he just doesn't want to let me go!", Audrey confessed.

"That's good then, and don't forget that you found someone just right for you,so you have to fight for him!", Prisca said, about to let Audrey in on huge deal.

" what do you mean by fight for him?", Audrey asked confused, "Ohh Audrey, you surely didn't expect dating such a rich CEO to be that easy, did you?!", Prisca asked, her palms slapping her forehead in disbelief.

" Ohh, I'll be more vigilant then!", Audrey said with excitement before she continued, "I seriously wonder how you know so much, yet you aren't in any relationship!".

" Well, It's really not my fault, it's just that I know so much about boys and dating!", Prisca said lying through her teeth, "well that's a lie!", Audrey countered.

" Oh well, I was lying, it's just that I don't know how to feel when dating someone!"Prisca confessed, "okay sweetie, anything you want!"Audrey replied, not willing to drag the matter

She continued, " what of your dad!, how's he doing?", Audrey asked, concerned. With a smile on her face, Prisca replied, "he's better ,like really, really better, he even helps with cooking at the diner!".

" So, you mean your dad also cooks!?", Audrey asked, "yes he does, that was why the diner was built in the first place. Mom used to tell me she and dad used to cook before I was even born. You should come over sometime to taste his cooking!", Prisca said in an attempt to lure Audrey to visit.

" Maybe I would, probably this weekend, I would come over to taste his cooking!", Audrey said. They had a series of conversations after, gossiping mostly, something they used to do while Audrey stayed with Prisca and Lizzy.

WAlTON GLOBAL.

"Why don't you go!?", Lucas asked Martin as he immediately saw the invitation he dropped on his table. It was an invitation to an annual ball hosted by one of the many dignitaries in the continent.

" Uhuhn!!", Martin grunted before he continued, "you didn't want to go to the meeting in Nirsinia, I went there in your place, and ohh, let's not forget the programme I went to!", Martin huffed, expressing his grievances.

"Well, in my defence, I have lots of work to do!", Lucas said, " your defence, you dump all the work on me and then you spend time with Audrey, not that it's bad, but you are getting used to it!", Martin squealed.

"Anyhow, you're going and not me!", Lucas said in finality, Martin bobbed his head, clapping three times before his last resort came to mind, " I'll tell mom!", Martin said, immediately grabbing Lucas's attendion.

Gasping for the longest time, Lucas said, "you wouldn't!", " watch me!", Martin said leaving the invitation and walking out. "Fine!", Lucas growled, " I'll go!", Martin turned, wiping the victorious smile on his face.

"Good then, I'll be on my way!", Martin said, stepping out of his office. Lucas sighed before smiling, Martin still knew what could make him agree to any situation, their mother.

If he didn't agree, she was going to take Martin's side because he was younger. He had become too addicted to Audrey following the months they had spent together, feeling reliant and intending to be an opportunist in that situation, he called Audrey.

" Hello!", Audrey said after picking after the first ring, "hey, are you busy?", ucas asked in the lowest voice he could speak with. Audrey thought something was wrong, so she removed her hand from her mouse in panic

"No, no, not really!", Audrey said, "can you come up?", Lucas asked referring to his office. " Yeah, I would be right there, give me a few minutes!"Audrey said before she cut the call.

Audrey went up the elevator, heading straight for Lucas's office. The elevators dinged open again, Audrey walking out of the elevator and taking the turn which led to Lucas's office.

Unlike the first few times she went to the fiftieth floor, directly to his office, she was met with piercing stares from most of the female secretaries.

Curiosity had led them to ask Craig the right hand man of the president who had told them they were in a committed relationship. That alone gave Audrey the immunity she never knew she had.

The secretaries didn't even spare her a glance as she entered Lucas's office after knocking. "Oh My God!", Audrey exclaimed, " you lied!", Audrey shrieked as she approached Lucas who had a goofy smile plastered on his face.

"I didn't lie, I just didn't say why I wanted you to come!"Lucas clarified, his hand stretched out, which Audrey willingly took. " Well, that is true. But really, why did you call me up hm!", Audrey exclaimed as she was dragged onto Lucas's lap.

"We are in an office!", Audrey yelped as Lucas wrapped his arms around her. " I'm aware of that babe!"lucas said, still wrapping his arms around her, peopering kisses on her luscious hair.

They just stayed like that, enjoying their time together in Lucas's massive office. She leaned into his chest, his strong arms wrapped tightly around her, but not too tight so she could breathe. She didn't understand why moments like that felt so good yet unbelievable, it turned out that the cold, aloof exterior was just a facade. The real Lucas was very clingy.
