Best of friends couldn't fully comprehend the bond the girls had built within four years, how close they had become was a very big contrast to their relationship when they just met.
Yes, it had been three years and the girls were now more mature than they used to be, mentally and physically. They had been through so much all the while supporting each other, being there for each other and most of all having each other's backs.
In the years they spent at University so far, Nelly had come to accept the fact that her father was never going to accept her. Over the years, she had learned that her father had permanently moved to the city where her university was located.
She had stalked his sons enough to know their schools and his wife's grocery shop. She had stalked his family enough to know that he already owned a company that bloomed over the years.
What seemed to be the most painful part for Patricia was the fact that every time she saw his expression, he always seemed happy and contented, he never seemed to be bothered by the fact that she wasn't with him.
When she couldn't take it anymore, she confronted him one day while he was at work, where his wife or children wouldn't disturb them. She picked a lucky day to visit him, a day when no one would question her identity.
She had gone to the topmost floor seeking a meeting with the CEO, Mr. Joneson, the unsuspecting secretary who was expecting a female liaison from another company and had thought she was the one.
When she entered his office, he gestured for her to take a seat as he was busy with some papers, he didn't even look up to see who entered his office as he was expecting someone else.
Patricia didn't even clarify the identities as she sat down. Mr. Joneson was surprised to see someone else sitting in his office, it hurt Patricia greatly that he didn't even recognize her, her father!
"Uhmmm, please do I know you miss?", he asked oblivious of who sat in front of him. "I'm your daughter, remember?", Mr. Joneson had a very horrified expression on his face after Patricia had said those words. His skin paled like he had seen a ghost, " what are you doing here, come on get up quickly and leave, I don't want my wife seeing you here".
His statement seemed to pull Patricia out of the belief that he would ever accept her. "What about me daddy? why did you never contact me?" Patricia had asked innocently with tears brimming.
"Get up now and leave!!" Mr. Joneson said terrified, he didn't want his wife to come with the liaison and see his child with his other wife calling him her father. The liaison was referred to him by his wife and he didn't want to take any chances.
He practically dragged her out of his office toward the elevator attracting the attention of the employees on the top floor. After he successfully got rid of her, he turned and said to his employees, " no one should ever allow that girl inside my office, understood??", the employees nodded their heads " Good! And no one speaks a word about what happened just now" he said and stormed into his office cooling himself down before receiving his wife and the liaison.
It turns out that Mr. Jenson had long forgotten he had a daughter when he married another wife. He had destroyed every evidence that showed he was ever married before, including his daughter, Patricia.
Patricia had done back to the dormitory that day shattered and cried her eyes out like her whole world was crumbling down. The girls did the needful and left her on their shoulders to cry on, being the chirpy person she was, she came to accept the fact that her father had refused to acknowledge her.
Patricia had also stopped staying at the dormitory during school breaks, instead, she went to spend the holiday with Audrey.

Hyacinth and David had become much much closer, over the years they had built their bond, regardless of their petty fights and tantrums, they still stuck together like a real couple would, close enough to start talking about marriage.
David had originally been three years ahead of them having graduated two years later after completing his studies at the university. Being the ambitious man he was, he had gone to another university to complete his master's. In 6 years, David already had his master's degree in pharmacy.
He mostly did his best to be the best boyfriend he could be for Hyacinth, taking her out on dates, going shopping, on movie nights, and so on. All the attention he gave to her made her best friends jealous of their relationship, a type built in patience, commitment, and trust.
They had their differences of course, but they both knew when to apologize. The funniest part of their relationship must have been the part when Hyacinth started spending time in his apartment. She had heard that guys weren't keen on celibacy.
She had thought to consummate their relationship when in fact she was scared herself. She was going to his house for the very first time since he had left the university.
David had noticed that she was not comfortable just by looking at her, her beautiful smile seemed forced and she walked stiffly unlike the happy-go-lucky Hyacinth he was familiar with.
After he couldn't take it anymore he asked coming closer to Hyacinth "babe, are you okay?", Hyacinth who was so lost in her thoughts as she sat stiffly on the couch flinched from hearing his voice so close to her ear.
" Uhm", Hyacinth drawled because she didn't know how to lie to David, "well, the thing is..", " tell me already," David said before hyacinth rushed her words," I heard a few days ago that men don't go well with celibacy, so I thought maybe…" David cut her off laughing very hard.
He explained to her that he had himself under control and that he would only do what she was comfortable with Hyacinth sighed in relief and gave him a tight hug.
