It's been three weeks since Timi left and alot had changed. Father has finally gotten what he wanted, I was no longer a general's daughter but the daughter of a king.
Since father become king he no longer let me out of the house, I was like a caged bird in my own home, strictly secured by well trained swordmen, all because he thought I was his only hope if things went wrong.
He later got a new wife as he had planned. Since he became king he decided to show off his status by marrying a very rich and well known king's daughter from another empire.
Zainab, a young promising beautiful girl, with full body curves, she was indeed very boosty and had this very alluring grey eyes, full lips and thick long lashes with her personality that fits her beautiful self. At first when father brought her home, I wasn't fond of her and did not like her much, I thought she would be like Father's other wives, even with the fact that she was now the younger and got Father's full attention but I was wrong she was nothing like them. But now I was overjoyed to have her here with us, she was Father's wife but to me she was like a sister and a best friend.
My thoughts wandered back to when Timi and Jamila was still with us and a sardonic smile plastered on my face.
Well some of Father's wives did not get along with Zainab, they hated her because she got Father's attention the more. Why wouldn't she? She was way younger and more beautiful. But except for mother who was so happy father had remarried, now she was no longer his favourite wife and his attention was given to someone else...
I walked down the corridor with Zainab beside me with a basket of oranges and apples in her hands. We both strode to the garden.
" I find here peaceful" she said sweetly.
"Me too." We sat there for a while eating on on the fruits slowly as we watched the new solders train with their swords.
" I need to make use of the restroom, I will be right back."
"Hmm be quick." Zainab nodded at me and I quickly stood up to leave but stepped on my long red fitted dress and stambled forward, almost falling before a strong arm came around my waist and saved me.
Straightening myself, I looked up to see who it was, who had dare to touch a princess like that, it wouldn't have been any of my brothers, they wouldn't even care if I died. My brothers were spoiled brats.
Looking up, my eyes met a pair of dark captivating eyes, they were so large and beautiful, it was like it could see through me. I had seen this eyes before. I tried hard to remember but could not.
"Are you alright, my lady?" Asked the young man in front of me, a frown plaster on his handsome face. Suddenly I got butterflies as I gazed in his eyes.
Who was this man? I I had never seen him here. Then my eyes wandered about his perfect body. He was tall, he had no shirt on and his perfect broad shoulder and abs was fully exposed, long slim legs and beautiful thick raven black hair.
" Have I seen you before?" I asked
" Yes, my lady" he replied" I was the swordman you met at the market" I just stood there without saying a word, staring at him with admiration in my brown eyes, he also stood there staring back at me with a frown on his face.
"Hmm hmm.." someone cleared her throat behind us " I am Zainab and she's Muna.."
"Kinshi.." was his short reply, smiling sweetly at Zainab. " If your alright now milady I would like to take my leave."
"Yes, yes... I am." I said cautiously, a shy smile making way to my face. He bowed elegantly before turning around and leaving.
"Kinshi what a name, hmm, that's one good looking young man and I have never seen a man this polite" Zainab pointed as we stared at his back while he walked away.
Yes I thought to myself. He was indeed a very good looking man, but who was I to desire him, I am a woman and women had no luxury to look at a man. After all father would soon be marrying me off.
"It's getting dark, we should go back inside and help mother and Sarana prepare dinner" I said but Zainab was too occupied to hear me. Her gaze kept following him until he was out of sight. I snapped my fingers in front of her face to wake her up
"Yes, yes, I think we should go." She hurried to say.
" You have seem to forget that your a married woman Zainab." I said emphasizing on the 'married woman', mock sweetness colouring my voice, I laughed a bit
" And who said married women are not not allowed to admire other men." Zainab said, the look on her face so serious. I tried to suppress my laugh but could not when Zainab noticed I was only joking we both fell into a chapter of laughter.
