Chapter 8 - Celebrating in ‎Constanța

Daisy was a hard-working girl, even if she had faced a lot of things in her life from a very young age, she never made it a point to back out from doing things that needed her attention desperately. Daisy was way ahead of her peers, yet very modest and down-to-earth character. She never believed in showing off to other people, because she knew where she came from and never forgot her roots. She was about to reap the rewards for work well done during her final year project in Mechanical Engineering. It was during their time at university, that Daisy's group secured first place for the best project during an external review session.

Maria, Philetus, and Jericho were part of Daisy's group. Maria was like a sisterly friend to Daisy; they visited each other's home very often. Maria was fated to enter Daisy's life even before they joined the University of Pitești. After Daisy had completed her 12th Grade with flying colours, Daisy and her mother, Danielle decided to visit Church on a Sunday morning by walking on their foot, to express their gratitude to the Almighty. Once they were finished confessing their love to God, Daisy and Danielle decided to get a Cab as they were tired, having walked 5 KM from their home to Church, symbolizing their sacrifice to God. As it was an early morning, there was only one cab available which had to be shared with other 3 unknown people. It was Maria, with her elder sister and Mother. A week later this rendezvous, on the first day of joining the University – Daisy was seated next to Maria's friend. Maria never thought that she would be accompanied by Daisy for the course of the next 4 years when girls were barely interested in highly technical subjects like this. Maria was able to recognize on the very first day, that she was the same girl from the Cab at Church. Daisy however still wondered, where did she probably see Maria. Lost in her thoughts, daisy still kept wondering about the same in the evening, and shared with Danielle about seeing Maria somewhere else before seeing her at the University. Danielle suggested, "could she be the girl, whom we saw at the Church, in a cab?" and Daisy's brain was struck with millions of lightning bolts, " Oh yes! how could I not see it?" Daisy expressed the same to Maria the next day when she had seen her. Maria replied, "Yes, I already knew!" Daisy replied with a crazies smile, "why didn't you tell me, I was going nuts to figure out, where I had previously seen you!" And that's how their journey of sweet friendship began.

The clock ticked its time and 4 years went by, now here they were going to present their research paper in Constanța along with Philetus, Jericho. Jericho was the top scoring student in their batch followed by Maria. Both were quite studious and similarly spectacled. Whereas Philetus and Daisy were not as studious as Jericho and Maria, rather they were fun-loving people. Philetus was both Daisy's Dance and Sports partner. Both had secured jobs in reputed companies, whereas Jericho and Maria pursued higher studies in Germany. Philetus and Jericho were related at that time through exam preparation classes for local competitive exams. Daisy's so-called project group was a vicious circle of crazy friendships. That's where the team's strength came from. All of them knew each other so well, that understanding was never a problem. Each person was there for each others when things went crazy during the project. As for Daisy, things were already nasty at home, when her father George lost his job. Daisy managed to wear a mask of confidence and a smile on her face – whenever she had to face the outside world. Philetus, Jericho or Maria didn't have the slightest clue what was happening in Daisy's life – just because she happened to wear her mask very gracefully.

Now it was time, that they went Big. Her group was selected to present their research paper at Constanța, in one of the International Conferences by Springer Journals. It was two weeks right after the Christmas holidays were over. Daisy packed her bag and got ready for a memorable moment of her life. As Constanța was away from Slatina, they decided to go by train, where they would enjoy the journey with each other while admiring the beautiful scenarios on the way. Maria, Jericho, Philetus and Daisy played card games, watched movies together and killed their time joyfully with lots of laughter. Daisy was never good at card games or any indoor games. This made Daisy even more short-tempered. When it came to indoor games – she just happened to lose her patience out of nowhere, this stole the hearts of a lot of people around. Once they reached Constanța, arrived at the hotel, kept their luggage, and went for the conference venue. On their first day after attending one of the workshops on Fluid Mechanics, they left the remaining conference once they got to know their schedule about when they were going to present their paper on the next day. They enjoyed their evening on the beach and visited nearby museums.

The second day arrived when their paper presentation was about to begin. The jury panel was a team from NASA, who would be understanding and reviewing their paper. The speech was initiated by Daisy, followed by Maria, and Philetus and ended with Jericho. After the question-answer session was over, Daisy's group left the room immediately, as they did not see those questions coming and felt that they could have been answered in a much better way. All of them were tensed. Was their presentation so bad, that would it be going further for publication? It was not known to them; however, they decided to travel to the next city and forget about it. They decided to enjoy the present beauty of nature and went for various sightseeing, boating, bird watching and adventure activities like zip lining and scuba diving. After this presentation at International Conference, all of them returned to their lives and never to see each other again. 2 years later, Jericho announced to the group, that their research paper was finally published in the International Journal. It was a team's achievement, without which Daisy would not have seen this day coming.

Immediately after this event in Constanța, Daisy was back in the corporate world, and this time Annual Day was about to organize, where the company's achievement would be highlighted followed by a cultural festival. This involved signing practice with her friend Andrea until the day of the event arrived. Daisy was beautifully dressed in her traditional clothes, a white blouse with a colourful printed skirt with an over Jacket. She added her subtle look with a pair of shimmery earrings that went very well with her dress. Mr Norberto came to pick her up and went with him to the venue of the Company's Annual Meet. Andrea and Daisy sang well, and Norberto and his team danced to the song to appreciate their singing. More than 1500+ people attended the event. Once the event was finished, people were dancing with joy and enjoying the gala dinner.

3 months went by, and her time in the department of manufacturing was over. Daisy was offered to continue with Press Manufacturing, by the head of the department. Daisy denied the offer as she knew right from her University days that she was not meant for highly technical stuff. Daisy left the decision in the hands of the HR Team. Unlike other trainees, Daisy's one-year training period was over. Based on each & every individual's performance, they were going to be assigned a fixed department. The day of selection came, and Daisy was assigned to a department called EHS. A department that none of the trainees had ever heard of, or what it was. Daisy was different from all once again, setting her foot on the unseen trajectory. Daisy started thinking again, "What about my purpose? How will I impact people's lives, does it have anything to do with revolutionizing society and its culture? It feels like being here would not help me live my purpose. However, according to Daisy, it was just not the right time to leave the Company. Little did she know that her life at EHS was going to change her life forever. Daisy kept her patience alive, to see what was yet to come!
