J's Point of View
"Jaei! Stop right now!" My cousin, and also a kind of attendant of mine, shouted in annoyance. "I'm so tired already!!!" She added while holding her chest as she run.
"I never told you to follow me, Pita!" I shouted and ran even faster.
"How am I supposed to not follow you? Hello? They entrusted you to me." She shouted back. I didn't answer, instead, I continued to run. I have to think of a way to stray her— gah! Even before I can finish thinking of a plan, she used her charm against me.
(Charm: In Nirvana, supernatural powers are called charms)
Her charm is called eternal binding, it can bind any living thing using an eternal rope, it's unbreakable, but it can be removed by the user or by another charm called entity sealing.
"You know this is against the law right? If you use your charm against me-" Before I could even finish my sentence she covered my mouth and panted.
"Geez, you're a really fast runner." She said and breathed heavily, then continued to talk. "Anyways, yes! I definitely know, thanks for asking. But I think you forgot the part where an emergency can nullify that law right? This..." She pointed at me. "is that emergency! What's my use being your 'servant' if I can't stop you? They clearly made me your servant because of my charm." She added. I glared at her. "How many times have you run from home again? 1, 2, 3– damn I can't count it all."
"Let me go, Pita. Just tell my father you couldn't keep up with me and I quickly disappeared, poof!" I said. She shook her head quickly.
"And what? Get me beheaded? Definitely not! Let's go back." She said and pulled the end of her invisible binding rope.
"You know he can't do that!" I said and forcefully stopped her. "Wait, Pita! Hear me out!"
"What now?" I was about to speak, but she cut me off again. "Look, J, I love my life, and I still don't have a boyfriend, okay? I most definitely don't want to die a virgin, so please do me a favor."
"Is having a boyfriend more important than your cousin's freedom Pita?" I asked her. She sighed and rolled her eyes.
"No... but my life is." She said. "Lucky you though, you already have a fiancé." She added. I glared at her, she knows well that I hate the idea of having a fiancé that I don't even know of!
"As if I want that wedding to happen? That's the very reason why I'm running away." I said and rolled my eyes. If not because of her, I could've been far away from home by now— hell rather, how dare I call that place a home, a home is where parents cherish their children, and not sell them through marriage for Pete's sake. "Darn it, you ruined my perfectly planned plan."
"Well thank heavens for making me stay up late and hear unusual noises from your room." She said which made me more annoyed. I forgot the fact that she stays up late on Fridays, who knows what she's doing. But anyways, because of that mistake, my escape plan failed again. "Come on J, you still have a week before your marriage, since you don't have a choice, just enjoy for now, or beg your father to stop your marriage."
"You know he will never back down— and no, I beg to disagree, I still have a choice. And that is this! So, please! Let me go!" I begged. She sighed and pulled the end of the string again.
"No can do, Princess."
And yes, unfortunately, I'm back to this trashy hell.
"Peace and glory to the daughter of Kingdom Alvaea." The maid greeted. "Princess, it's time for supper." My servant said, I just nodded, then royal maids came rushing to me, to get me ready for supper.
Upon arriving at the dining hall, there I saw my father, stepmother, and step-siblings. I bowed and sat in my usual place.
"Peace and glory to the King and Queen of Alvaea." I greeted nonchalantly.
"I heard you tried to run away again." My father started as he drank from a glass of wine. I didn't answer and continued to eat.
"J! Don't be rude to your father! He's the king of Alvaea!" My mother shouted— well, not really my birth mother, she's my stepmother, my biological mother died years ago.
"Now now, it's fine Serene." My loving father said— please do note my sarcasm. "No matter how far you run away, we will always find you, and no matter how you disagree, your marriage will still continue whether you like it or not." He added, I couldn't take it so I stood up and walked away. I heard them call me but I didn't listen.
This wasn't part of the plan, but this is now happening because of that Serene witch. It's clear to me that this marriage is not only to strengthen our Kingdom but to sell me off to give Seira an opportunity for a better and bigger marriage.
Seira is one of the 5 children of Serene, she's two years younger than me. I know Serene thinks I'll get in the way of her daughter Seira, that's why she persuaded my dad to sell me off to some royal I don't know of. I bet he's from a lower rank, she's determined to make my life a living hell.
I went to my mother's garden, just at the back of the main palace. A few only know this place. My mother specifically made it for her personal space— well I completely understand why she made this, my father's clearly a psychopath.
Anyways, it's not easy to find this garden, because my mother used charms to keep this place hidden.
I sat on the vibrantly emerald green grass. If only I was in the mood, I'd already appreciated this scenery. I raised my head to look at the sky as a bird passed by, which made me remember something.
My mood immediately became sour as I remembered that my so-called fiancé will come tomorrow! The thought of it made me more eager to escape, I have to plan the very perfect plan, and I mustn't fail! I have to carry out a plan tonight! I haven't seen the guy I'm supposed to marry and I don't have a plan for meeting him.
I quickly got out of the garden, I was about to go to my chambers, but then I saw my cousin, Pita. I smirked, I've just got the perfect plan.
