Chapter 1 - Chapter-1:The beckoning

'DIE DIE DIE' reaper ulted as noises erupted from the P.C.

'Double kill, Triple kill, Quadruple kill, TEAM KILL'

"Hell yeah baby! I told you having mercy kite the entire team to that junction would turn the tides." Spoke nathaniel as a flurry of joyful screams flooded his headphones.

'Ah crap, its 2 am already?!' screamed Nathaniel internally and decided to grab some shut eye.

-------------

*BEEP BEEP BEEP*

'Gah should i just sleep in today? Mom and Dad aren't home anyway. But would that affect my attendance and in-turn somehow induce stress in me in the future? hmmmm quite a thought experiment this be, or maybe I'm overthinking like an idiot as usual. Welp, might as well head to school if I've got the energy to monologue first thing in the morning.'

--------------

Incomprehensible chatter accompanied a chaotic classroom and greeted Nathaniel as he opened the sliding door.

"Sup Nathhyyy" exclaimed jake, Nathaniels best friend.

"Morning jake. Oh, ya know, the usual. Midnight gaming session and bedside existential dread. Life feels so monotone that i might cause genocide just to entertain myself and the world for a bit. No FBI! that was a joke!" nathaniel spoke and stared up at the ceiling with his hands clasped together at the end.

"Ah yes, good ole' genocide" Said jake while snickering.

"Okay, quiet down class!" Screeched Mr.Woodsworth.

The cacophany of voices instantly halted and silence ensued.

"Wait what? You guys quieted down that quick? I thought I'd conduct a pop quiz but you guys just gained a lifeline i guess." Mr.Woodsworth spoke while chuckling and proceeded to take attendance.

27 students out of 30 were present. The teacher rapped his fingers on the teachers desk and yawned. The moment his eyes opened, an empty classroom greeted his vision and on each of the students desk lay a paper talisman with their name written in gold.

-----------------

A dark corridor erupted with light as clusters of light gently coalesced into shapes and lost their lustre. A metal door at the end of the corridor creaked open and a scheering cheer burst out.

"The gods have answered sire! They have been summoned!" screeched a stocky man in white overalls.

Blurry vision and vertigo accompanied Nathaniel as he jolted awake. He was sitting in the classroom staring out the window, and in the duration of a blink his body seemingly ended up on a floor with a feeling similar to those mid-day sweat filled naps.

'Where in the fuck am i?' thought nathaniel as his vision cleared up. A ball of fire was floating in front of his face.

'Is this how i die? Hit by some otherworldly fireball after being teleported? atleast i hope i was teleported, wait if i was teleported am i still on Earth? Is this one of those isekai scenarios where im gonna be forced to be a slave to the whims of some lazy king and his overpowered cult of wizards who do nothing but give "Important advice and assistance" to some kid they summon and term them a savior with no regard to the idea of consent? Wait how long have i been rambling in here for? Am i really not gonna die?' thoughts kept churning in Nathaniels head as his fellow students started to wake up. Fireballs lay floating upon each students head, some screamed in terror, some gasped in shock and stared in awe while one other student apart from Nathaniel lay stuck in thought as a million microexpressions painted their face.

"Those both seem promising dont they?" Spoke a man adjourning a red cloak. An emerald sword lay on his belt as incomprehensible letters seemingly flowed down its hilt like water, constantly squirming and churning.

"They truly do, one of them has an expression of quiet contemplation and his aura still maintains a serene state while the other is possibly rambling on about possibilites, his aura is unkempt and wild." Spoke an older looking man with long blond hair containing strips of red and blue.

The cloaked man snapped his fingers and whispered something. A green hue encompassed his body as his eyes began to glow and shifted shapes.

"Hear ye, Otherwordly champions, I am Garthorn! Ye have been summoned into the royal chamber of the Kingdom of Xindo. Confusion, fear and worry must be coalescing with yer hearts at the strange circumstances ye have found yerself in. The balls of igor won't harm ye and the off putting sensation crawling upon your body is the intake of mana occuring for the first time." Blared Garthorns voice as everyone's attention was split between the contents he shared and the green strings of light floating down the room, seemingly seeping out of the cosplaying old mans mouth.

"What the fuck?" muttered a girl with a tomboy cut, Nathaniel recognized her as Jenny, the marathoner.

'Now he'll introduce us to his king or something' thought Nathaniel internally giggling.

"Welcome our king, The savior of humanity, Lord Xernias." Spoke the older man who's name still remained a mystery.

'Maybe i have some clairvoyant class or something. If the king tells us about a demon king needing help with the eradication of evil i will genuinely strangle myself'

A giant of a man walked inside the corridor, having to duck and lean in at the massive metal door. He wore a Black cloak that hid his entire body and held glowing red blades in his hands.

'He must be 9 feet or taller, holy crap!' Thought Nathaniel.

"10 of you must die, pick the victims." Spoke Xernias with a calm demeanor, almost as if he was a doctor asking for their patients name.

A cacophony of voices cried out as the students began to complain, speak and argue.
