My dad and Zayn's parents were having a talking about wedding preparations, I tuned them out and watched as Valery answered her phone, and started fidgeting, a nervous habit she developed in like the 3rd grade. Before I could look into it any further Zayn walked up to me and kissed my cheek.
"What's up?"
"Valery's strange behaviour." He looked over at Valery narrowing his eyes.
"I don't trust her as far as I can throw her."
"Hey! That's my best friend you're talking about." I slapped his shoulder.
"Well your best friend seems like a snake in the grass." I looked at Valery thoughtfully, I wanted to much to believe that she was trust worthy, but with the money I'm racking up, I do find it hard to trust any one.
"Miss Montez?" Zayn waved his hand in my face.
"Penney for your thoughts?" He smiled at me and I smiled at him.
"Nothing, when are we getting out of here?"
"We're waiting for the big toast, then we can disappear."
"Good." I smiled at him, liking the way my stomach did backflips every time we locked eyes.
After about 30 minutes of socialising, I started getting really irritated. I walked over to my dad and he smiled warmly.
"Dad, I'm really tired, is it okay if I leave?"
"Your luggage is being transferred to Zayn's car already. I want to say something before you guys leave." He looked at me with so much regret, but we both know it was far to late to turn back now.
We walked over to the entrance where James stood. He smiled sadly, tears gathering in his eyes.
"James are you crying?" I said, choking on a sob.
"Of course not Ms, I have something in my eye." He wiped at his eyes and opened his arms, I immediately stepped in for the hug, grateful to have had such a great father figure as a butler.
"We're going to miss you Ms Montez."
"And I'm going to miss all of you. I'll come visit often." I pulled back a little and smiled.
"You ready?" I turned to see Zayn standing awkwardly. I nodded my head and stepped back. I gave my dad a hug and said goodbye to Zayn's parents. My security detail stood by the hotels entrance and escorted us towards our limo.
Zayn opened the door and I tried to gracefully hop in, he chuckled and got in after me. We drove for about five minutes in total silence before Zayn cleared his throat.
"Listen Ri, I'm sorry for what you heard. It wasn't even like that, we were talking about..."
"Zayn, shut the fuck up. I don't want to hear you pathetic excuses."
"Ariana please."
"No, nothing."
We drove silently after that, I kept my gaze on the passing buildings, the reality finally setting in, I'm going to marry Zayn Bradshaw.
