Sorbey woke up after feeling some noise from living room. After adjusting his bed, he came out from his room, to see what is this noise.
After coming to living room, he saw, a skinny boy, around his age, removing his shoes at doorway. He was carrying a big bag around his shoulder and some books in his hand.
After hearing some noise, the boy, looked at Sorbey, and said while walking towards Sorbey.
"Hello, I'm Jirin, your new roommate"
"Hello, I'm Sorbey"
"I was wondering if you will come or not, you see, I came here five days ago, and, almost every new students reached here two days ago. Yesterday was our house selection event and, you were not there and, our master said that, you will be in 'Fire' house. I thought my roommate is not coming but, yesterday I was informed that you are my roommate, and for some reason you are coming late".
Sorbey just blankly stared at Jirin, he didn't know what to say, and just nodded. Jirin again started talking,
"It is my first time seeing appearance like yours, I know that every region has their own unique appearance and very different from us, but you really have most unique appearance I have ever seen. Are you really from here."
"No"
"So, from where."
"I don't know, I originally lived in a small village."
Originally, Sorbey was also curious about his appearance, in village very few people were willing to talk to him, most people were very repulsive towards him and looked at him like, he was some strange creature, he looked very different from everyone he ever met. He felt like he didn't belongs everywhere he go.
"So, everyone looked like you in your village".
Jirin asked Sorbey with deep in thought, he looked like a detective, solving a mysterious case.
"No" Sorbey answered.
"Oh, I was thinking of visiting your village, you see, I read lots of books, and about different people living in different areas, but never heard about people with your appearance".
After some pause, Jirin thought of something and said while panicking.
"Don't take me wrong because, your appearance is really unique, you have unique features that I have never heard of, so, I was curious. Nonetheless, you are really handsome".
Sorbey looked at Jirin with no expression and said in soft tone, "don't worry about it, I hear it lot".
People always questioned Sorbey about his appearance, if they didn't ask directly, they will always talk behind his back and look at him with strange expression. Sorbey always ignored that type of people . It was never new to him. When he was small child, children from his age never played with him. One day they were talking to a woman named Aja, after talking to her they came to Sorbey and asked Sorbey to play with them, it was only time he played with children.
Jaran smiled and said, "okay, from now on we are roommate's, we'll spend most of the time together , if you have anything to ask, just ask me and I will be happy to help you. l'm going to wash up now".
After saying that he left for bathroom to wash up.
Sorbey sat on a chair, little uncomfortable after sleeping in the afternoon, thinking about how he met so many kind people after coming from his village. After some time, he got up and went to his room. Sorbey grabbed a book. He has this book with him for many years and it was special for him, he then started reading this book. This book has no name, It has techniques of basic magic and Sorbey really liked it, he read lots of advanced and popular books after coming here but he never felt that, this book is useless, it always taught him something new everytime he read this book.
After some time, there was a knock on Sorbey's door and Jirin spoke from outside, "it's almost lunch time come with me, I will bring you to mess hall to eat lunch, you will be hungry after travelling, and doing so much adjustment".
"Yes" Sorbey said, kept his book aside and went out .
"Have you seen mess hall", asked Jirin.
"Yes, earlier a girl showed me "
" You will see, when the hall is packed with students, it's magnificent. Some students complained before, why the mess hall is too far, then our master said that, walking after eating is good for your digestion, so, after eating and walking you feel much more energetic to do your work. And also, no one is allowed to use magic for going to mess hall unless, it is emergency".
After walking about ten minutes, they reached mess hall which was packed with lot of students all wearing colorful clothes. Sorbey never saw that many people gather together, even when he went to market. Sorbey just stood there, looking around dumbfounded .
When Jirin looked back, seeing Sorbey standing there looking all dazed, he said smiling, "when I first came to the mess hall, I was also like you. The mealtime is fixed, all students can only eat at that time, except for some students. So everyone come this time to eat".
Jirin brought Sorbey to backdoor to get him a plate. When Sorbey was walking, everyone was watching him, because he was the most unique looking person present there. Sorbey have long, snow-white, curly hair, pale skin like a ghost and very light blue eyes, very unique, out of this world.
Sorbey was accustomed to these gaze, but they were not looking at him like he was some strange creature, their eyes has curiosity. Sorbey didn't feel any disgust in their gaze. And, in magic world anything is possible.
Unlike, his village people, who looked at him weirdly and stayed away from him.
Jirin brought him plate and grabbed his own plate, then he brought him to 'Fire House' section and sat down. The table was really long and every four section has two tables, in one table for senior students and one for juniors. Sorbey noticed that eveyone wearing specific color in every house except for some people in junior table , in 'Fire House', most of the people were wearing red, 'Water House' people were wearing blue colored clothes, 'Earth House' was wearing green colored clothes, 'Air House' people were wearing yellow colored clothes.
Jirin noticed Sorbey's gaze and said to Sorbey, "The people who are not wearing specific colors are all newcomers like us. I brought school uniform because everyone knows what our school's uniform looked like, but, I didn't know which house I'm going to be selected in, so, I didn't bring red clothes. Tomorrow we will get measurement and get our clothes, we will get three pairs of clothes".
After some time the table was full, and Jirin's friends also came. Jirin introduced his two friends to Sorbey, Rayee was from same place as Jirin and was very tall girl, even taller than many boys there, and Layn became their friend after they got selected into same house.
They were not as curious as Jirin about Sorbey's history but, were curious about Sorbey's appearance. This time Sorbey didn't needed to open his mouth, Jirin told them everything.
After students settled down on their seat, teacher came one by one .
Jirin told Sorbey, " Not all teacher have to come during meal only, teacher, who are house master have to come.
Sorbey saw, there were 15 to 20 teachers sitting on different table in middle, both male and female with different and colorful clothes, all looking majestic.
Rayee said "our junior house has two master, male and female and seniors also have two master, these four teacher are all take good care of us, some time later they will come here".
