Week passed. During the day he was working in the field, and during the night he was cultivating.
At this moment Xing was checking out his herbs. Dew grass was growing steadily. He estimated that it will need three weeks to fully grow. But then he will have to wait some more for it to begin spreading nicely.
Then he checked the hill where Whiffle Pansies were growing. Xing could already see something green coming out of the ground.
If this continues, he will get a nice haul at the end of summer. Which will greatly help him with acquiring Lustrous Ginseng seeds that he will have to plant in autumn.
Because he always tends herbs when he is done with his chores. Xing right now was going back home. He was happy because he could start cultivating right away. Yes, during last week, he slowly began adapting to the pain. Right now, he was confident that he can cultivate when he is home alone.
When he came back, he immediately went to his room. "How nice it would be if everyone had their own room." He had lots of ideas that could earn him tons of money. But just like in real life, to earn a lot of money, you need, who would have thought, a lot of money. But right now that wasn't important. It was time to cultivate.
He quickly sensed his body to check out his progress. By now he was pretty proficient with it so it took him only a second or two. "After a whole week, I was able to open about five percent of pores. Who said it was time-consuming? At this rate, it will take me around five months to open all of them. But in that letter, someone wrote that it's challenging for people to open more than fifty percent. So maybe there's more to it."
When he was done checking out his body, he began creating needles. He was able to do that for two hours. He had to stop because someone walked into the house. How did he know that? That was because he sensed it. At this moment he was able to sense things within five meters radius with him in the center. He was sitting near the door so he had some parts of the living room covered. Sadly he wasn't proficient enough to know who that was, he just know that someone was there.
He walked out of his room and saw his sister. "Welcome back Sister Lan" She looked at him "That's weird, I thought you were out. Why weren't you reading your book? You always do that whenever you can." While he was normally doing that, now he was able to cultivate. So his choice was obvious. Then he answered her. "I was going to do that. But when I came back I was a little tired, so I decided to take a quick nap." He didn't even think too much about it. He was becoming a good liar. "That makes sense." She replied and walked out of the house.
He drank some water and came back to his room. Even though his sister went somewhere, he didn't continue with cultivation, because another member of the family might come back at any time. He took the book and began reading. He was almost done with it and learned a lot from it. He even found a few more herbs that he can plant when he will have the money.
He was so engrossed that he didn't know that everyone came back. Only when he was informed about dinner did he realize how fast time passed.
At the dining table, he asked a question that was bothering him for a while. "How much does getting a well dig out cost?" Yaoting started laughing "So you were able to resist the urge to spend money only for a week?" Xing pouted "I don't wanna spend money right now. I was thinking about it because getting water takes us a lot of time. So it would be more optimal to have it in our field. And I only planned to do it, with money that we will get from selling herbs." "Hmm, let me think. I guess you would need at least 50 silver coins." His dad told him. "That's a lot." He was disappointed, but then remembered something. "What water we will get if we build it? I mean will we be able to drink it?" "Well, of course. That's what the well is." Chang answered his question.
He was delighted. "Then I have another question." He looked at his dad and he nodded "How much would it cost us to dig out a seven meters deep hole?" He pondered for a while but then he smiled "It would cost us nothing. I alone can dig it out" He said proudly. "But why would you need something like this. at best you would find water mixed with dirt." He couldn't understand him. "Why do we need water?" Xing asked. This time his mother replied "To water the crops" And then it struck her. "That's right, dirty water or clean, it doesn't matter. When we will water them, it will mix with soil anyway." They were all stunned.
His dad was the first one to come back from it. He started laughing like a mad man. "You are right. It doesn't matter. Let's do it! We will save so much time." He smiled and started eating. Rest quickly followed him.
After dinner, he went to his room and lay on the bed. He began thinking about what he should do when he was done with the book. 'Maybe I'll start learning how to use a sword? But that can be boring and I don't know if I will be able to do that for a long time.' He dropped that thought soon after. He will think about it when he finishes Herbs of the world. After that, he went to sleep.
He woke up when it was still dark. He removed Lihua's hand from his chest and went to the shed. Shelves that were destroyed by him were all repaired. He walked towards one of them and took something that looked like a few materials connected together. Xing placed it on the ground, sat on it, and began cultivating.
Not even an hour passed when he sensed someone sneaking into the shed 'Is this a thief?' He asked himself. He was pretty scared. He could even fight, and he didn't have any weapon. 'Weapon, that's it.' He slowly walked to the wall and took a shovel. He was prepared for a fight.
By now he was sure that the thief wanted to rob this shed. At first, he hoped that he was just passing by. But that was not the case. He was closer and closer. One meter, fifty centimeters, and finally.

Doors slowly opened, and he heard a voice "So that's where you were sneaking out every night, brother."
==============================
I've started wondering if someone even reads author notes. Not that it matters much, but sometimes I would like to know what you all thinking about it. Anyway, I'm really glad that someone is reading my novel and that's what matters to me. Also right before publishing i got my first power stones. Thank you very much it means a lot. I'm sorry for all my mistakes, and as always have a nice day!
