Two Weeks Later
"Okay, I think I'm going to propose to her," Neil said as we walked to class.
I was finally allowed to go back to school but my hand was still wrapped in a bandage from the wrist to the elbow. "Why do you make your own life hard?" I asked as I shook my head and hoisted my bag with my good arm. "You know that will only end up going bad for you. So why then?"
"Because you never know until you try," he replied with a coy smile as he walked ahead of me then turned back around, walking backwards as he acknowledged me. "I gotta try and make a great impression on her, maybe then she will finally notice me and give me a chance."
"And what if she still sees you as the kid you are? What then?"
