Synopsis
The idea of becoming an economist was never in my thoughts till I graduated from Chuka University. The spendthrift spirit in me always conflicted with the economics within me. Having graduated, I moved to Machakos, Kenya where my life was not easy but on train mode. Lieutenant Makori was all my I needed for the second graduation...call it life graduation if it really exists. The spendthrift spirit never let me astray despite beating the odds to survive the heat and harsh "Ukambani land" and everyday I would shout a better pysche up for that woman who retails porridge and some sweet pan cakes always never miss to get a smile for a punchy me...

Chapter 1 - The War of Time

Nairobi City welcomed me so nervously , the city was huge and confusing. I wouldn't help to locate a bus stage to Tala, Machakos county. After a few manoeuvre I helped to aboard a bus that made me so happy despite the worrying Covid-19 pandemic. It took me one good hour to reach Tala. As an hemp believer then, I rushed to a nearby crowdy boys who were smoking so happily as if the laws were exceptional to them. I swallowed a heavy roll of a puff that left me coughing. As usual i was in the battle field...fighting for time and you know how it feels when you are in a new place. My Kamba friend Willy was nowhere to be seen contrary to our agreement. I waited till 7.00PM and all i would see was a man approaching me while calling to confirm my authenticity. He greeted me and handed over Ksh 300 for my night room. I was bored, "high" and weary. Time was galloping...the night was calm and time would not let me observe more except to find myself asleep, sound sleep
