"Madi?"
"She's safe. She's in the woods with the others. Diyoza won't look for them as long as Leon keeps an eye on her."
Clarke look at him, glad that for once, everything works as intended. "You're all still alive? Murphy, Monty, Raven?"
"As well as Echo and Emori." He nods, looking at Clarke, trying to convey his appreciation. "The two of you saved us all."
"And now you're home." Clarke smiles at him, still in shock, and he smiles back. "Wait a second Bellamy, why did Dyoza let us leave like that? I mean I trust Leon, but I don't think she let us go because of your threat."
"We made a deal. She agreed to open the bunker." Clarke look at him in surprise, shocked to hear the words she never thought she'd get to hear. Bellamy looks at her before he grabs his radio. "Raven and Murphy are up on their main ship, waiting to hear from us. We used their fuel to get down, but as we were loading it up, we stumbled upon the rest of their prisoners, sealed up in cryo chambers."
"So the sleeping prisoners are our leverage?"
"Yes. If Diyoza backs out on her word, we call Raven and she pull the plug, killing them all." He holds the radio up, showing it to Clarke. "It's time to check in wanna to join in?"
"Of course!"
"Raven, can you hear me? Come in."
"Tell me everyone's okay."
"Everyone's fine. We reached a deal with the people from that ship, and, by the way, the Laser-comm's an open line, so they can hear every word we say."
Clarke's grin widens at the sound of the next voice, comforted by the jokes of their professional cockroach. "Nice to meet you. We're not bad people, we…"
Bellamy cuts Murphy off, practically rolling his eyes. "Raven, keep him away from the radio."
Raven's voice crackled through the radio, filled with a mixture of relief and concern. "I'm glad everyone's okay. We've been worried sick up here. And don't worry, Murphy won't be touching the radio anymore."
Bellamy nodded, a sense of reassurance washing over him. "Good. We need to make sure everyone follows the rules. The prisoners know the consequences, and we need to hold them accountable. Diyoza, I hope you understand the gravity of this situation. We won't hesitate to take action if necessary."
Diyoza's voice came through, laced with firm determination. "I understand. We're not looking for trouble, but we won't back down either. We have our own people to protect. The deal stands as long as you hold up your end."
Clarke chimed in, her voice filled with determination. "We will hold up our end. We want to find a way to coexist peacefully. But make no mistake, if anyone jeopardizes the safety of our people, we won't hesitate to take decisive action."
Raven's voice came back on the line, her tone serious. "We're monitoring everything from up here. And I have access to the systems on the ship. If anyone tries anything, they won't get far. We're all in this together. Is that all?"
Bellamy looks over at Clarke, smiling. "No, that's not all. Someone here wants to say hello."
He hands the radio to Clarke, and she presses the button with a smile. "Raven, Murphy, it's really good to hear your voices. You don't know how much I've waited for this."
Raven's voice sounds shocked when she answers, and Clarke can only imagine the expression on her face. "Clarke? I don't believe it."
"Jeez, and they call me the cockroach."
Bellamy and Clarke laugh at Murphy's quip, as she was finally getting some semblance of normalcy that she has longed for in the last years, "You guys just be careful up there, okay? We'll talk more once this is all over."
"Okay, but first," Raven's voice is shaky, and Bellamy and Clarke could tell she was crying. "Thank you for saving our lives."
Clarke's voice softened as she responded to Raven's heartfelt gratitude. "Raven, you don't have to thank us. We're family. We've been through so much together, and we'll always be there for each other. We'll do whatever it takes to keep everyone safe, no matter the cost."
For the first time since Bellamy, Monty, Echo, Emory, and Harper made their way down, Leon joined in, filled with sincerity. "We're in this together, Tinky. There was now I would have let any of you die back then. And don't worry, we'll find a way to make things right, to build a better future for all of us, together. "
Raven's breath caught in her throat as she heard Leon's voice, a voice she hadn't heard in what felt like an eternity. Her hands trembled slightly as she clutched the radio, her emotions swirling within her. It took her a moment to find her voice, her words laced with a mixture of relief and disbelief. Tears welled up in Raven's eyes as she listened to his words, the depth of his love and determination shining through. It was as if time had collapsed, and at that moment, all the pain and longing she had felt over the years dissipated, replaced by a renewed sense of hope.
"Leon?" she choked out, her voice wavering. "Is that really you?"
Leon's voice was filled with warmth and affection as she responded. "Yeah, it's me, Tinky. I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere. We'll get through this, together."
Raven let out a sob of relief and joy as she realized that Leon was still alive and that they would be reunited soon. "I miss you so much," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the static of the radio.
"I miss you too, Raven. But we'll be together soon. Just hold on a little longer."
As soon as they sign off, Bellamy reaches out for Clarke, taking her hands and leading her into the transport, towards a row of seats situated along the wall. "We're scheduled to take off as soon as the check-in is complete. They're going to use the transport to remove the rubble, and they'll use their mining equipment to blast a hole into the ceiling."
Clarke nodded in response and as soon as she was secure, the transport takes off, lifting into the sky and flying towards Polis. Clarke and Bellamy sit in silence for most of the trip, too much to say with not enough time, but eventually, he asks about the time she spent trying to dig the bunker out, and Clarke passes along the story.
As she tells the story, the prisoners use the weapons and the transport to clear the way to the door, before landing the ship and coming to get them. Diyoza, along with McCreary, leads Clarke and Bellamy out and to the door, setting up a rig to lower all of them down into the bunker through the hole they have now blasted into the ceiling over the atrium of the bunker. Bellamy volunteers to go first, eager to see Octavia, and he stands patiently as they harness him up.
Meanwhile, I kept my sniper rifle trained on Dyoza, my eyes flickered between her and the scene unfolding below. Bellamy and Clarke were being strapped and made ready to descend down into the bunker. My heart raced with a mix of anticipation and unease, knowing that the safety of our people depended on their success.
Amidst the tension, I couldn't help but feel a rush of relief remembering hearing Raven's voice crackling through the radio. It had been years since we had last spoken, and the sound of her voice brought back a flood of memories and emotions. I cherished our connection, and knowing that she was still alive gave me hope in the midst of this chaotic world. However, that relief was tinged with guilt. The guilt of starting a relationship with Clarke, knowing that my heart still carried feelings for Raven. It was a complicated situation, and I couldn't deny the conflicting emotions within me. I cared deeply for both of them, and the thought of hurting either of them pained me.
As Bellamy and Clarke were being lowered into the bunker, I adjusted my grip on the sniper rifle, ready to act if the need arose. My attention remained fixed on Dyoza, calculating every move, ready to protect those I cared about. Despite the guilt and inner conflict, I knew I had a role to play in this part, and I was determined to fulfill it to the best of my abilities if Dyoza decides to screw us up.
