Chapter 167 - Post Praimfaya Chapter 16

Clarke had ventured out of the safety of the raptor territory that she and Leon had used as a natural deterrent for the prisoners, mostly because she wanted to take a closer look at the ship that the prisoners used to land on Earth. She knew that there was a risk involved in her actions and that Leon would probably overreact, but she had to do it to find out if there was any way to end the ongoing conflict with the prisoners. However, her actions proved to be unwise as she found herself captured by McCreary and his men, almost as soon as she walks out of the raptor territory.

After leaving the raptor territory, Clarke had walked for a while before she heard the sound of footsteps approaching. She quickly turned around ready to defend herself, only to stop as she found herself face-to-face with a group of prisoners. From the way they were surrounding her, these guys had been tracking her movements for a while, and now, they had finally caught up with her. Clarke knew that she was in trouble and tried to back away, but it was too late. One of the men grabbed her and forced her to the ground, slamming her face-first into the dirt.

She tried to fight back, but there were too many of them. The man that seem to be the leader of this group, held her down as his men tied her up. She struggled against the restraints, but it was no use.

Once she was tied, the man stood up and looked down at her. "You made a mistake coming out here alone girl," he said, his voice cold and menacing.

Clarke glared at him, refusing to show any sign of weakness. She knew that showing fear would only make things worse. "Who are you?" she demanded.

The man chuckled. "I'm McCreary, and you just made my day," he said, grinning. "I've been hoping to catch one of you fuckers."

Clarke clenched her jaw. Leon told her about this McCreary, who seem to be a madman that no one should ever cross. But she refused to give up without a fight.

"I'm not afraid of you," she spat.

McCreary's grin widened. "Oh, you will be, little bird," he said, grabbing her by the hair and dragging her to her feet. "Let's go back, boys."

Clarke tried to resist, but McCreary's grip was too strong. She stumbled along behind him as he drag her towards the prisoner's village. She could see the looks of amusement on the faces of the other prisoners as they watched her being dragged through the mud. It was clear that McCreary was the one in charge here.

As they entered the village, Clarke couldn't help but feel a sense of dread. She knew that things were about to get much worse for her. McCreary took her to a large tent where she saw Dyoza, the woman that left the ship when it landed, waiting for her.

"Ah, you found one of them," Dyoza said, standing up and walking towards her. "I've been looking forward to meeting you or your boyfriend."

Clarke didn't respond, still determined not to give these people the satisfaction of seeing her afraid. Dyoza smiled, her eyes twinkling with amusement.

"I must say, I'm impressed," Dyoza continued. "You've managed to stay alive all this time. Not many people can say that. Not even amongst us, considering the rather unforgivable conditions this once beautiful planet is in right now."

Clarke gritted her teeth. She had been through so much already, and she refused to break now. She looked around the tent, trying to find a way out, but it was clear that there was no escape.

McCreary chuckled. "Don't bother trying to escape," he said, sneering at her. "We've got guards posted all around the village. There's no way out."

Clarke felt a sense of hopelessness wash over her. She had put herself in this situation, and now there was no way out. She wished that she had listened to Leon and stayed inside the raptor territory. But it was too late for regrets now.

Dyoza stepped closer to her, her eyes narrowing. "You know, we could use someone like you on our side," she said, her voice low and dangerous. "Someone who knows how to survive in this world."

Clarke shook her head. "I'll never join you," she said firmly.

"She speaks, what a surprise!"

Dyoza shrugged. "Suit yourself," she said, waving her hand dismissively. "But I think you'll change your mind soon enough."

McCreary laughed. "We'll make sure of it," he said, grabbing Clarke's arm and pulling her towards him.

Clarke knew that she was in a dangerous situation, but she refused to give up hope. She had to find a way out of this situation and back to the safety of the raptor territory. She looked around the tent, trying to find something she could use to her advantage.

That's when she noticed a sharp rock on the ground nearby. Without a second thought, Clarke quickly kicked the rock toward McCreary, catching him off guard and causing him to stumble backward. Clarke used the opportunity to pull her arm away from him and started running towards the tent's opening, but was tackled to the ground by one of McCreary's men. She struggled to get free, but they held her down, tightening the restraints on her arms and legs.

"You really shouldn't have done that," Dyoza said, walking over to her. "Now you've made things much worse for yourself."

Clarke didn't respond, knowing that anything she said would only make things worse. She looked up at Dyoza with defiance, refusing to show any weakness. Dyoza chuckled.

"I like your spirit," she said, leaning in closer. "But you should know that it's only a matter of time before you break."

Clarke gritted her teeth, refusing to give up hope. She knew that she had to find a way out of this situation, no matter what. She couldn't let these people win.

As Clarke struggled against her restraints, her mind raced with thoughts of her friends. She couldn't help but worry about Leon and Madi. She wondered if they were safe, if they were looking for her if Leon was even considering doing something foolish like trying to rescue her. She knew she couldn't rely on anyone else to save her. Clarke had always been the one to come up with a plan, to find a way out of dangerous situations. But this time, it felt different.

She was up against powerful people who seemed to have thought of every possible escape route. Despite her fear and uncertainty, she refused to give up hope. She had to believe that she could get out of this situation, that she could somehow find a way back to her daughter and to Leon. She thought back to all the times she had faced impossible odds and come out victorious. She knew she had the strength and the determination to overcome anything. Clarke closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing thoughts. She focused on the present moment, on the feel of the restraints on her wrists and ankles, on the sound of Dyoza's voice as she taunted her. Clarke knew that she had to stay strong, to keep her mind sharp and her spirit unbroken.
