Chapter 65 - Chapter 64 - Choices to be made

" I'm not going to help. You people have done way too much harm to mine. "

Hearing what the ex-president said, Finn, turned towards his friends before reluctantly walking towards the door.

"Forget it. I should have known that he wouldn't have helped us. We'll have to figure out something else, let's leave him. "

"No. He's going to help us, whether he likes it or not. "Clarke assured them, stepping forward, taking the old man aback by her sudden confidence.

"You hear yourself, Clarke Griffin? Your people cut the power, putting every single resident of this bunker in danger. These are my people, my people! Even the ones who helped your friends and yet you are willing to sacrifice them. Truly a selfish girl just like poor Jasper described you. "

As soon as she heard about Jasper, the blonde walked closer until she was breathing on his neck. Even though she regarded Jasper as a friend, Clarke knew that from the day he let himself be lied to, he wouldn't be the same ever again.

"When we decided to disable the power station, I knew that your people will be safe on the fifth level. The teak that was sent there was instructed not to destroy the turbines so you could repair them. We're the good guys here! Not you! We just want our friends back, that's all we want. "

"Tell me, Clarke" Dante began in a low voice, unperturbed by what the blonde shouted back at him "if we released your people giving you the same deal we had with the savages, what happened to my people?"

"This is a waste of time, Clarke. We need to go, Leon and Byrne are most likely close to blowing the door. They'll save our friends without his help."

"Monty, can you get us in direct contact with his son?"

"If we have control over the command room, then Raven and I should be easily connected to his walkie-talkie."

"Good. Finn, let's take him just in case we could use him as a bargaining chip against his son."

With that said, Clarke stormed out of the room with Monty and Finn behind the two men as they all made their way toward the command center.

When Bellamy and Raven saw the five of them, they didn't know how to react, but even though they were surprised and confused, Raven had a job to do and now that Monty was here, her job would become many times easier.

While Monty and Raven were working their magic, Clarke was watching the monitor, staring at how Leon and the rest of the guards were held off by Emerson as well as what seem to be the last soldiers left in the bunker.

"Why aren't you with your people on Level Five?"

"You must be Bellamy, right? I heard a lot of things about you and your sister, mostly bad things, but you know how teenagers are."

"You still didn't answer my question, Mr. President."

"I'm not the president, besides, after how much pain and suffering I've inflicted, my people deserve to be free. I on the other side don't deserve that."

Suddenly, Raven's voice was heard from across the room "How noble of you, sir. You are taking the blame for what your son did."

"No, Cage isn't the one responsible for the deaths as well as the deal with the grounders, this old man is the one who did it. That's why he remained behind, that's why he doesn't want to stay with his people."

Soon Raven and Monty managed to hijack control over all of the cameras in the bunker and what they found wasn't anything pleasant to look at. Their friends as well as some of the people that were supposed to be in Camp Jaha had their hands tied on the wall while some people wearing lab coats were brutally and indiscriminately cutting them open.

"Oh, my God, mom!" As soon as Clarke saw her mother, she shouted out in fear and disbelief. Finn and Bellamy watched in horror as a familiar girl was being cut open by these people, as if these people were deaf, ignoring the girl's pleas as well as her yells of pain.

Finn reached over to the guard that they had captured and grabbed his radio. He then turned to Dante before grabbing the old man's collar.

"Tell them to stop! They are killing them!"

"I won't do that. Everything they do is for the greater good of my people. Some have to be sacrificed for the benefit of the many."

Raven and Mont both stared at the screen, completely horrified as Clarke finally broke her vow to resolve this whole thing peacefully. When Dante saw her cold piercing stare directed at him, he tried to hide his shock, doing everything in his power to not flinch under the pressure.

Thankfully, before she could hurt the old man, Finn hugs her, stopping Clark from injuring the old man, at least for now. "That's my mother tied on the wall! Call it off, right now, or I swear, I'll—"

"Emerson! Bellamy toss me the radio from Finn." Monty realized something before nodding at Bellamy. He threw the radio that Finn gave to him, as everyone, even the two men from Mt. Weather were unaware of what Monty was about to do.

"Carl Emerson, Mount Weather security detail, please come in."

Monty repeated the same message five times before a voice responded from the radio, clearly confused, yet suspicious of who may have contacted him.

"Who is this?"

"Aren't you and your soldiers fighting us in that hallway? Give the radio to your new President. We have a deal for him."

Amidst the chaos, Emerson agreed to put Cage on the radio after hesitating for a few minutes, but that wasn't what made him agree. Instead, the sudden collapse of the first line of defense when a blonde monster rip a man's head was the final blow that forced him to quickly run to Cage.

It didn't take long afterward for the new president to make up his mind.

"This is President Wallace. What do I own the displeasure of talking with you savages?"

"We have your father. If you don't let our people go, your father will have to die."

"Clarke Griffin? Is that you? How should I believe you? Especially after everything you and your monster friend had done to us?"

Right when they heard Cage's words, Bellamy and Finn both grabbed Dante's head and brought it next to the radio. The old man moaned in pain before he gritted his teeth. "Cage, whatever you do, don't you dare stray from our course. This is our destiny, our people deserve to go back to the surface!"

Soon Raven manages to connect the camera that was inside the command center to the nearest TV that was close to Cage. When he saw the gun aimed at his father's head, Cage couldn't control himself, but despite what he felt, he still decide to face Clarke.

"You won't do it! No matter what you say, you won't kill him. Otherwise, you won't get your mother as well as your friends!"

"You don't know me very well, Cage."

When Clarke pressed the muzzle on Dante's head, Finn, who had committed the same mistake when he thought Clarke was taken away by the grounders, quickly tried to stop her.

"Wait, Clarke. You don't have to do this, besides, we need him."

"No, Finn. We need his son to believe us."
