Chapter 41 - [Leaving!?]

"What?!" Emilia repeated herself once more in disbelief.

"Chrono, you should already be able to remember your family and i surely don't want to deal with your dragon parents." Dawn spoke firmly as they walked through the corridor Emilia stopped and finally realized the motive of them going into the dragonfolk empire, it was for her to 'remember' what she was before meeting Dawn since she went along with the lie of having amnesia, "B-but where should i go then?"

Dawn turned around to talk eye to eye with Emilia and said, "To your parents of course, you might be nice but what about other dragons? If they are anything as described in folk tales or religion, i don't want to bring any calamity upon myself." Emilia froze, if she were Dawn she probably would think the same way but Emilia didn't have any strong dragon parents, neither did Chrono as she was born from time itself besides Emilia didn't want to leave Dawn as she was the first person she has ever felt kinship even when she was a human she didn't feel like that.

"T-they don't care about me!" Emilia stuttered on her own words nervously in a desperate attempt to convince Dawn that there was no problem in taking her in but as any 200-year-old being, she knew how to spot lies. "Chrono, you got to cherish your parents more. I know you like me and you see me as a sister, you also did help me resolve some problems but what about the people that care about you and raised you?"

Emilia's breath was fast and her heart filled with anxiety, "I.. I still don't remember anything!" Emilia's desperate attempt was nothing but a desperate attempt, Dawn saw many things in that 200 years+ of existence, and she already knew how to read people like a book.

"Chrono you need to be more mature, i don't know much about how dragons measure age but you should be old enough and strong enough to take care of yourself, what would your parents think if they saw you walking side by side with a mortal? If anything i'd be burned alive." Dawn's words hit Emilia like a sharp blade, Emilia was about to refute but..

"I still wonder why you are so clingy with her, Emi.. Ahem, did you know a soul has enough power to grant energy to 32 cosmos, or as you humans say, universes? Now what would happen if such a power source went wild?" It was Chronos, Emilia halted for a second, frozen in place as she could see Chronos right at her side with a confident smirk.

"You have my body Emi, my body isn't made out of flesh or bones, but nothing more than pure soul essence and spiritual synergy unlike lower beings that rely on flesh, we are pure. Your blood is yellow because my soul essence is yellow, and your scales are white because my spiritual synergy is of that color. I can only speak with you because of the current instability of our soul essence and if this keeps going, this whole cosmos might be ripped apart from the inside out, so do me a favor and calm yourself. We will talk more tonight." With that Chrono figure slowly fading into nothingness, Emilia's breathing slowly went back to normal.

Dawn looked at Emilia and smiled, Dawn thought that Emilia had already come to terms with it.

"My parents are dead." Emilia spoke with a shaky voice, Dawn looked into Emilia's eyes and this time she couldn't feel any lie.

"Oh- I'm sorry-"

Emilia looked down and spoke in a low voice, "Don't be. After all, you are my sister aren't you, you wouldn't leave me behind, would you?"

Dawn looked at Emilia once again deep in her eyes, the silent hall was getting dark as the sun was slowly setting down, "..I won't have to deal with any dragon coming to get you, right?"

Emilia quickly answered, "No dragon will come to pick me up."

Dawn took in a deep breath and sighed, "I only planned to take you to the dragonfolk empire so that you could remember a way back to your home, but i guess you can't go back?"

Emilia nodded, she couldn't go back to where she came from and most certainly she didn't want to be left alone in a world that she knew nothing about besides leaving someone that can help her.

"Alright i will take care of you then." Dawn approached and petted Emilia that cried in joy, Dawn looked surprised at Emilia, shouldn't dragons be more emotionally stable?

"N-next time at least tell me when you plan to leave and don't say it out of the blue so that i can at least be emotionally prepared." Emilia wiped her tears with her paw, Dawn simply shrugged, "I will warn you next time then.
