After that whole ordeal in the classroom, I quickly left with Najimi and headed to the library.
We would have less than probably half an hour to hang around there.
Well, I wouldn't call it a hangout but, it would be definitely just the two talking since we talked about them finally stepping up.
They used a lot of words to describe it, but it's just flirting. Hoshoujo didn't want to say it herself so that ended up being a tease fest for her.
Najimi: [Are we going there first before her?]
Mendou: [I mean, yeah? Unless you want her to be seen walking with two dudes on the way to the least crowded place.]
Najimi: [What's wrong with that?]
Mendou: [Uh... nothing actually.]
He's too innocent for that.
Besides, Hoshoujo would be probably much more knowledgeable in that sense and would smack my face if she heard that.
As we passed by corridors though, I feel like there are a lot of eyes looking and turning from behind.
I don't want to turn around and check, but I'm almost confident that it's the case.
Najimi: [There's a lot of people here today.]
Mendou: [Y-You're right... Ahaha.]
Usually, there are not a lot of people that would hang around here since the cafeteria is the other way, but for some reason, I have a hunch that people are here for something.
We arrived at the library, and apparently, there were a lot of people that came in.
It's the second week, and I doubt that there would be any subject or class that would require you to study right now.
Now that I've noticed though, most of them are women. Wait, no——All of them are!
Just what the hell is happening? Is it my popular phase?!
Najimi: [We should... go, right?]
Ah, I forgot that I was with him.
It's him they're here for. I'm sure.
Mendou: [Yep. Let's go and avoid this bunch of simps.]
We took and turn and just went to the annex building. But as soon as we did, I detected a few that began to follow us.
So, with my instincts ringing aloud in my head, I ran and grabbed Najimi by the arm.
Mendou: [If you want to meet Hoshoujo, RUN!]
I ran as fast as I could while dragging Najimi in. I was confident in my running skills as I joined track and field when I was in junior high school.
Najimi: [Where are we going?]
Mendou: [AAH—What the hell?]
Najimi was already running at the same pace as I was while holding him. I quickly released his arm since I thought he'd be slower than me.
Mendou: [We're going to the rooftop. I'm going to tell Hoshoujo!]
I pulled out my phone, dialing as fast as I can while I ran. But, as soon as it rang, I celebrated too early, not seeing what was in front of me and slamming into a wall.
Mendou: [Oof——]
I was able to let go of the phone though. I threw it towards Najimi who barely caught it.
Najimi: [Kotaro——!]
Mendou: [Kai! Go without me! Tell her where you are going! I'll catch up!]
I was down on the ground face down with my body flat on it. Everything hurts since that wall caught all of my energy.
Najimi: [I will not forget your sacrifice!]
He ran without a second thought. He left me shortly after.
He didn't just dip! He ACTUALLY LEFT ME OI!
Mendou: [Sigh... Anyways, no one is gonna be on the rooftop since I already checked and opened it earlier. All they need is to just go there and do their thing.]
This is the first time I actually set them up together.
Well, I didn't anticipate Najimi's fangirls flooding the library since I originally thought of just convincing them to go to a new place, but either way, that works.
Mendou: [Anyways... I think I'm gonna need to go to the school clinic.]
Nanoha: [What do you think you're doing?]
Mendou: Uh, picking myself up? How about you?]
And to my luck, Nanoha, the student council president was standing right in front of me.
Nanoha: [Hmph. I opened the rooftop door because we are going to move some furniture there to make space for a club. What do you care anyways?]
Mendou: [Huh? Wasn't it already open?]
I was sure that I already opened the rooftop door. But if they were talking about the other one, then that's locked.
Nanoha: [No? It was locked and I had the key to open it. What do you mean?]
Oop. I must change the subject before she asks me what did I do there——.
Mendou: [...Red.]
Nanoha: [What...?]
I was looking up as she stood. I just mentioned a color, and she still had no idea.
It was student code to wear a skirt that was issued by the school which is a few inches above the knees, but for Nanoha who is a woman taller and bigger than the average girl in our school, her skirt appears to be short.
Nanoha: [———?!]
Mendou: [Anyways, I need to go to the clinic. Can you help me?]
Nanoha: [——How dare you!?]
Oh, she finally noticed. But there's no way she's going to hit a wounded man, right? Right?
But she's raising her hand. She's surely not about to slap me, right?
I spent the whole day at the clinic after that.

Najimi: [Huff... Huff...]
I ran and ran to the top floor.
I was able to reach before my legs could give up, and so, I walked towards the door that would lead me to the rooftop.
I called Hoshoujo earlier, and she answered very loudly at first, but after realizing that it was me, she calmed down.
I told her to meet me on the rooftop, and unfortunately, the call got cut off.
I haven't told her exactly where.
I knew how a computer worked, but with Kotaro's phone, I didn't know a single thing.
I didn't know how to contact someone.
So, I was on the rooftop already, waiting for her to arrive.
But then again, I looked at the other side where there was another building, and on the rooftop, was a person.
That person looked at me as well, pulling something out of their pocket and putting it on their ear.
Najimi: [...]
The phone that I had would ring afterward after a few seconds, and as I answer it by pressing the green button, I heard her voice.
Hoshoujo: [I'm on the wrong building and we have less than twenty minutes which is enough for us to go down this five-story building and back to the classroom.]
She ended up in the other building. I'm not sure if it was my fault but, I had the impression that the rooftop doors should be closed.
Najimi: [Yes. I'm... sorry about that.]
Kotaro was nowhere to be found the whole day and later on, after class, he was discharged from the clinic after suffering a twisted ankle.
We were prohibited from running in corridors as we met the student council president who brought Kotaro to the clinic.
Today, we didn't get to talk at all.
