Every eye snapped in the direction of the door watching Xavier majestically walk into the council hall.
Immediately they got to their feet and bowed when he waved it off for them to take their seat.
"My apologies for the delay," Xavier said and took his seat. Similarly, every leader present took their seat while retaining their grim expressions.
Not that he cared about it. He could envision what the meeting was about. It was an unspoken topic with the others but not with Zeno who knew it all.
"There are no worries, Your Majesty. Since you are busy, we would kick off right away." Snarls were sent at Zeno almost immediately, making Xavier want to burst into a fit of unending laughter.
"Go easy on him. It wasn't his fault I came late. I was caught in a situation."
"Like the one where you spent the night in your captive's bed?"
