CHAPTER 130 – Challenge
By the time they arrived at the infirmary, Raven hesitated to move a step inside.
She had been all chatty coming here but now, the truth surfaced.
"Aren't you coming?" Xavier inquired.
"I am. I just..." She swallowed and stared ahead. "What if he is mad?"
"Well, I wouldn't blame him. Had I not intervened, you would have a life on your hands, Raven. But I am sure he would not hate you."
"Fine. I can work with that."
Together they both walked into the infirmary and then the young man's room.
As soon as he laid eyes on Raven he paled. His life once more flashed before his eyes with nothing in his control to handle.
Seeing the shock registered on his face now turned to rage, Raven stumbled backwards, keeping her hands to the side as she swallowed hard.
"Calm down," Xavier ordered peacefully. "Calm down!"
Instantly the creases in his brows relaxed and he looked away.
