Halfway through the journey to God knows where, Axel stopped at a boutique and got off the car without saying anything to Hannah who was curious about why they suddenly stopped.
She didn't even know where they were as the route Axel took was unfamiliar to her and also because she doesn't go out much.
She looked outside the window and saw Axel coming out of the boutique, holding two shopping bags which only heightened her curiosity.
What was in those bags?
Axel opened the door and placed the bags on her lap "Get changed. You can't move about like this". And with that, he shut the door and walked away again.
Hannah looked down at her clothes and she saw that she was covered in blood. Even the stench of blood was all around her. She didn't even think about changing her clothes as she had totally forgotten about it.
She opened one of the bags and the first thing she noticed was the bright sunset yellow dress.
She frowned.
Colors?
She removed the dress from the bag and her eyes narrowed as she scrutinized it. The dress had flower patterns scattered around it and her brows knotted in annoyance. She shoved the dress back into the bag and threw it to the side.
She didn't remember the last time she wore colors. Most she wore were either black or grey and now Axel had given her a yellow dress and as though it wasn't bad enough, the dress looked like it was pulled out of a garden.
What's with the flowers?
She had nothing against flowers. She loved flowers just that… she has never worn something like this before and now…
She looked at the bag again. She really didn't have a choice, did she? Her clothes were covered in blood and she couldn't go out like that!
She opened the other bag which held a hairbrush, hair pins, a small hand mirror, a hair scarf, and a bottle of perfume.
The hair scarf was a perfect match for the dress as they had the same color.
Thankfully, the car windows were tinted, so she could comfortably undress and dress up in the clothes axel got for her.
Wearing the dress was necessary as she had no other choice but there was no way she was putting that scarf in her hair.
She held the scarf in her hand and glared at it like it was her worst enemy then she threw it back into the bag.
She finished dressing up and proceeded to do her hair. Her hair was a total mess and using the hand mirror, she brushed her black hair neatly and fixed the pins in her hair.
She nodded in contentment. Not a strand was out of place.
She took the bottle of perfume and sprayed it on herself. Much to her annoyance, the perfume smelt like flowers.
He got her a flower patterned dress and a perfume that smells like flowers?!
As though he was watching her all along, Axel came back when she was done and pulled her out of the car. He looked at the dress on her and nodded in satisfaction. His eyes trailed to her hair and he frowned then he brought his eye back to her face as though he was asking why she wasn't wearing the hair scarf.
In response, she glared at him and it seemed like he understood what she was trying to say. He nodded before pulling her into the boutique.
"Where are you taking me?" She pulled her hand forcefully and Axel stopped. He tucked his hand in his pockets and raised his eyebrows before looking down at her shoes.
Hannah followed his line of sight and saw that her shoes were covered in mud. She looked around uncomfortably and tucked one foot behind the other. But that wasn't enough to hide her dirty shoes.
Axel shook his head and without saying a word, he grabbed her hand again and pulled her to the shoe section. There were shoes of different brands and colors and all of them were beautiful.
Axel gestured for her to pick one, she nodded and started looking around.
One section had only heels displayed in it and Hannah didn't even spare those death traps a second glance. She kept walking and stopped when she saw a pair of yellow sandals that matched her dress.
She turned back to look at Axel who looked at the sandals and then at her.
She glared at him as if trying to say, 'Don't even think about it!' before picking a pair of black sandals that was next to the yellow one.
Axel understood what that glare meant and he only shrugged with a smile dancing at the corner of his lips.
Hannah wore the sandals and it was a perfect fit. She looked at Axel and nodded once and he nodded back to show that he understood.
After paying for the shoes, they went back to the car and the scent of Hannah's perfume hit his nostrils. "What's with the perfume? Did you have to use so much?"
Hannah kept silent as buckled the seat belt before leaning back and closing her eyes.
Axel smiled again and shook his head before turning on the car engine.
