"Why is he here?" Jiang Yan asked. He is referring to Jiang Han. He was about to ask Meng Xing about his (JY) mother's situation but he saw Jiang Han arrive, too.
Jiang Han knelt along with Meng Xing and He Wenzhe who fetched them.
"Greetings, Your Majesty." Jiang Han spoke before he raised his head to look at Jiang Yan who was on the throne. "I came here to request a leave for me to see my (adoptive) royal father." He answered.
Everyone, including Jiang Yan, was surprised when they heard his answer. They didn't expect Jiang Han to request such, especially since he wanted to see the First Prince. It is not that they forbade to grant the soldiers their leaves. It is just that they knew that Jiang Han was a workaholic and had never taken any leaves when he was in the army.
