Chapter 3 - Faya Oriana

"It's a fairy, it's a fucking fairy!" Kaito exclaimed in exasperation as he ran to the spot where the fairy lay. Its wings glistened with the high sun and small translucent particles seemed to detach from its body giving a fanciful appearance to the situation.

[Correcting Guardian, it is an ancestral race of fairies, they are bigger]

"Who cares, Celeste? It is magic!" Kaito was so excited by the new perspective that he hadn't reasoned that first, according to his knowledge these mythical beings shouldn't exist.

But this could easily be circumvented if you thought about your current situation.

But second, the fairy's supposed ancestor was bleeding profusely and some claw marks ran across her shoulders and back, not to mention a larger, deeper one that covered most of her chest and came close to her neck.

The more aware of the situation, the more nervous Kaito was, he certainly wasn't a doctor, let alone know first aid or anything similar.

"Celeste, what happened? She is dead?"

[Guardian, status is critical but can be managed through your energy]

"Huh? Can you explain better, Celeste?"

[There was no time to explain earlier, but Guardians are extraordinary beings and have latent potential for some branches of exclusive use of energy.

But everyone can become proficient in the basic usage of all branches of energy. That is, even if the guardian has no affinity for Restoration Energy, he will still be able to at least use the basics of it]

Kaito could only curse himself for being chosen and not having time to learn the basics.

I mean, he had just arrived and in less than a few he was bleeding on his lawn on the verge of death.

He had to thank brutal movies he'd watched, keeping a little bit of sensitivity in the copious amount of gore.

Kaito had previously felt the energy and could tell that there was now a steady flow through his body, like a thin line that ran through his blood vessels with a smoldering vigor.

"Okay, and how do I do that? Am I a MAGE?!"

[Guardian, Energy Works according to the user's intent. After you become fit which is compatible with the use of power is instinctive and that's how you know with branches.

But, she needs your help now! Place your palms on your body and flow your energy with the intention of healing you]

Kaito ran to the Fairy's side as he gently turned her body onto her stomach, and in order for her to get into a more comfortable position, he ended up using the pillow pillow.

While her body couldn't help but sigh deeply. It was incredibly rosy skin, as if she was forever flushed.

He figured the color would be more prominent when she got healthy, after all she'd been bleeding for who knew how long and probably should have been in weight.

Without much further thought, Kaito stretched out as he reached the Fairy's back, closed his eyes and formed a connection with the veins within her body.

After falling into complete darkness he can feel the energy flowing through his veins. It was a strange ability to feel but also instinctive, it came as if it was natural and he always had a sense of feeling or using it.

Wasting no time he directed that energy to his palms pouring all his willpower into healing.

He saw it, but his hands gleamed softly not a beautiful golden hue and pure energy coursed along the edges of the faerie's wounds as quickly as possible.

Being distracted, he also didn't notice when a notification sounded in front of him on a smaller, simpler screen than Celeste's.

[The Guardian's body resonates with Life Energy, his blood roars with life force]

[The Guardian's legacy strengthens your proficiency with Life Energy]

The rapid rate of healing became astronomical, and despite the cuts being relatively shallow, the wounds had healed within seconds.

Jairo felt the energy slowly diluting as the connection weakened until it no longer existed.

So he supposed the process was over and when he opened his eyes he couldn't help but raise his eyebrows in surprise.

If before it was a profusion of blood, now it looked like her skin was just dyed red, as if that dried blood was just body paint.

If he didn't know, he would never say she was hurt.

"What do you think?"

"The boy sure has a good affinity for Life Energy."

"How long has it been since a Guardian with a latent affinity like that?"

*clap, clap*

A clapping sound caught their attention and interrupted the conversation between the two people.

"Have you guys finished talking or have you forgotten what kind of meeting we're in?"

A much deeper voice emerged and despite speaking in a casual tone, it still resonated throughout the room.

The two people just lowered their heads politely, but there was an amused and mischievous smile that did not escape the notice of the other figure.

"You can only be kidding me while we're dealing with such an important matter…"

The two people were still smiling and looked at each other as if talking mentally.

"We just found something interesting…"

They said in unison.

***

Some hours later.

A small figure trembled.

She opened her eyes slowly, in fact, almost gave up on them when she felt a comfortable warmth cover her entire upper body.

Her body ached, but it wasn't as overwhelming, at least not like before. It was just a pain of fatigue, as if you'd been running too long and your muscles had started to produce lactic acid.

But even that annoyance was brief and soon passed only as a memory.

When she felt absolutely comfortable, she finally decided to open her eyes.

The first thing she saw was a black cloth, she ran her hands over the area and gently squeezed her 'pillow'.

"Oh..."

If it wasn't for the absolute comfort she was in, she would surely have jumped up. But thoughts and curiosity wouldn't allow her to hear the interjection.

Then she felt a pair of gentle hands touch her head and push her.

She felt no real strength or hostility, and only then did she realize that hands don't float on their own.

When looking up what immediately caught her attention were the two sets of unnaturally golden eyes.

Followed by the oval face, not too thin, but there was a delicacy to those features that certainly don't befit a human despite clearly being one.

His hair was a little long and fell over the person's shoulders.

The person looking at her with the curious golden pairs was not aware of her own change, so she found the delay strange in herself and was a little embarrassed.

"Fairy?"

The approximately five-foot-long figure stood up using the support arms.

She didn't fully raise her body and level her eyes with the man's before saying in an annoyed tone.

"Fairy?! I'm not a fairy, I'm a Faya!"

"Heh? And what's the difference? They look the same" Kaito didn't know the other races, nor did they know who the Faya's were, but he thought it would be fun to tease her.

Faya pursed her lips in offense before starting to explain in an exasperated tone.

"We are bigger, we have a greater affinity for energy and we are much prettier!" She said adding a proud tone.

"Right, right." Kaito stood up and brushed the dust off his clothing before reaching out to help the other one up. "You look better now huh. Why don't we talk about what happened?"

She accepted his hand after a slight sigh. "You can call me Oriana bec-" Oriana looked around, pausing to take a better look at the place and couldn't help but wonder why it was so empty.

"Why is this so empty? Where am I?"

Kaito felt extremely uncomfortable, it's not like he had any choice regarding where he was.

"You came here not knowing where it is? And don't talk about 'here' like that." Kaito felt strangely possessive of the place he guarded.

"Isn't this the realm of the guardian Tariel?"

"Obviously not, otherwise you wouldn't have asked" Kaito chuckled with some sarcasm before adding. "Looks like you've come to the wrong place."

"Sorry, but, the gate was obviously set up for another realm, I have no idea how I ended up on this transitional plane." Oriana said with a long, deep sigh, there was definitely something very wrong.

"Let's sit down and talk…"

"Is there somewhere to sit here?" That was Oriana's turn to say sarcastically.

Kaito was visibly embarrassed and opened his inventory to see if he hadn't missed any chairs or similar items unnoticed. But what surprised me the most was to see that there was a handful of 20 Transitional Points in his balance.

'When did I get this?'

[The Guardian received points for healing Faya, the system chose not to notify him as it was concentrated]

With pleasant surprise, Kaito browsed the furniture store and found two simple chairs for five points each and a table for ten.

Strangely the points he earned was the exact amount he needed. But without much thought he removed the three objects and set them aside.

He bowed amusedly and bowed like a butler indicating the chairs.

"Would you be so kind as to keep me company?"

Oriana chuckled at the scene and blushed a little as she realized that Kaito actually looked really good in those clothes.

They gave him a noble air, and the pairs of golden eyes made him look a little haughty, even if he was the one bowing.

She definitely found him very handsome but would keep that to herself, Oriana just nodded as she sat up and looked at Kaito who was also sitting down.

"Let's introduce ourselves again…" Oriana said as she straightened her posture.

"Faya Oriana, a general of the queen of Faya's"

Looking at her better and after hearing that she was a goddamn general, Kaito understood why the proud and haughty tone she always seemed to have, adding to her poise and sharp aura she had despite not being hostile.

"Nice to meet you, Kaito." he exclaimed with a warm smile. "I am the owner, I mean, guardian of this backyard."
