ANNETTE'S POV
I had left the room in which Nava was confined. Staying there any longer would make me do something I may regret. I found her little show of remorse disgusting. Blaming people for your actions is only manipulative.
We all have a choice, it's why we get to decide and whatever decision we come up with, we stick to it making us liable to whatever consequence accompanies it.
"Ann."
I heard Ethan call out to me. It seemed he had followed behind me into the passageway.
Steps paused,
"Hey," I said, turning to him.
"Are you okay?" He asked me.
"I am," I said,
"Are you sure?" He asked again.
"I am sure," I answered.
"Okay. I was– wondering if you– would like to go for a walk?" He asked,
"To see more people asleep?" I asked,
"You sound like I am a terrible person." He said,
"That's the point exactly, you are not." I looked deep into his eyes while I uttered this response.
