ETHAN'S POV
"Put yourself together!"
I pushed him off. I had taken us to the Sahara and we were standing right in the middle of it.
He turned away, breathing heavily. I knew at that moment he could only do one thing– blame me.
"I know this is hard to process but it is what it is," I told him.
"He might not grant it. This you know and we know why." He said with his back still turned to me.
"Then why not love her all you can now that you have got the chance?" I told him.
He remained silent.
"It hurts." He said,
"I know," I said,
"How do I look her in the eyes knowing this? How do I pretend that all is well? You know I can't pretend." He said, turning to me.
"Then don't. We do not need you distracted. I shouldn't have told you considering that it was partly my fault you never got to be with her all these years.
