CHAPTER 3: NOTHING HAPPENED
He didn't say anything. He just listened to her silently. She meant every word she said and she was being sincere.
She suddenly stopped dancing and looked at the door to two people who had just entered. She could still remember the days she was still in love with Ronald. She smiled bitterly.
"Can you pretend to be my boyfriend today?" she asked Yuvan politely. He smiled and nodded. With that, he pulled her closer. She whined her waist so perfectly that those who were close stopped and made the two of them the centre of attention.
"Is there something I need to know?" he asked while rotating around her.
"No... Nothing." She smiled. "Am just too lonely now. Are you married?"
"Why would you ask?" Yuvan stopped.
"Someone's wife won't rush here and stab me in the heart. I still need to explore my youth." She said. He just smiled.
I want to forget... I want to get back to myself are the words that rung in her mind as she danced around. After a while, the two walked out of the club.
"Wow! Did you see that?" Patricia screamed out of happiness.
Quincy smiled and continued drinking. They watched the Ranvier cars drive away with their friend.
In the car, Nova fell into a deep sleep. She was exhausted and tired at the same time. Today, she felt better and at least forgetting Ronald in her life. She would want to come to the club always. She would want to drink and meet more men like Yuvan. Maybe that way, her days would be better.
Morning...
Nova woke up wrapped in a warm duvet. She was just alone. Everything around her was new. She quickly sat up and noticed her dress was pulled up. She immediately became alert. Before she could react, the door was opened and a young man with distant black eyes walked in. He seemed to be happy. Looking at the girl who was in turn looking at him suspiciously, the man smiled.
"Nothing happened." He said. Nova heaved a sigh of relief and pulled her dress down. Even though her relationship just ended, she didn't want to mess with just anyone. not just yet...
They didn't talk much because Nova remembered she had a lot to do in a span of less than twenty four hours. As a student and as a university figure, she didn't get enough rest and time to relax. She didn't even want to know more about where she was. She simply asked to be driven back to the club where she took a taxi back to school.
Entering her hostel room, all the other girls were ready for their classes. Seeing her, they suddenly got excited.
"Honey tell us your experience with the world class man!" Patricia smiled. Nova stared at them.
"Tell us already!" Quincy jumped on the couch and sat with her legs crossed. "Did you get intimate? I mean sex? Was he good in bed? How was the experience? You two looked good together! Are you getting your relationship to another level?"
"Mph... None of that happened!" she said and started walking to the bedroom but Patricia stopped her.
"Is that all? I don't believe you!" she said rolling her big eyes at Nova. Nova frowned.
"Am still virgin ok? I can't testify whether he's good in bed or not. I just fell asleep that's all." She gently pushed her aside and walked in.
"Hell no! Does she except me to believe that? Even though I've never heard any scandals on the great man but, she's outstanding and beautiful after all. She tempts everyone. Even ladies. Could it be that her beauty didn't move him?" Quincy asked while walking around the table.
"Quincy am hearing you!" Nova shouted from the bedroom. "It wasn't a matter of beauty and sex. You all know am trying to get over the Ronald issues so stop pulling things up!"
"I understand dear. Go take your bath." Patricia said in a lulling voice.
Nova walked into the bathroom and stayed there for too long. After what happened, she was feeling better at heart. She didn't like dragging her break up issues in all her work and studies. After all Ronald was still a student here and she was also a student here. She was a star in the university yet Ronald was a handsome guy with enough money to buy the luxuries girls would admire.
They had meet just after her first movie set before she attained her fame. He had been her motivation also in the past two years.
She hurriedly got dressed and rushed out. It was a long distance between the hostels and the lecture halls. But she was planning to get to the lecture hall. With her laptop in her hand, she went over to the theatre hall where she had a meeting with few of the school production team.
She was in a pink dress with pink heel. Her long black hair was freely hanging down her back. She walked into the building and sighed. Almost everyone was here.
"Sorry I kept you waiting." She sighed.
"You really did." Alaric complained. She just smiled and took her seat. Not all theatre students were as active as she was. Her super skills in acting made the school's fame to also right among all the national universities in the country. She wrote scripts and excelled in acting too.
The director walked in and cast glances at Nova. She opened her laptop and waited.
"Nova, am expecting you to be done by now. The last episode is out today and we need to start the new series. What news do you have?" the director asked.
"Mr. Director, I was actually done but I can say am on the final touches. A new idea came up to me, to introduce some political aspects in the script. Though there are not major changes, I want all of you to take a look and tell me if am on the right or wrong." Nova said respectfully.
Everyone came to take a look as she showed them the original script and the edited one.
"I like your ideas and your ambitions Nova." The director said. "The original copy is set and ok. The edited one is more fine and more complicated. It's nice we have both. Although in future, I would advise you to stick to one main theme first. The political part covered just a small part, but it might end up being incomplete if we don't alter from the beginning of the play which will take more time. As for the sake of this production, we will focus on the original one. I want you to write a new play with the political theme. What about that?"
