Chapter 10 - Sati of a rude queen

The queens started making preparations for sati. Jhala Rani was stopped by her son Chandrasen from committing sati and said that in two-four days all the chieftains would come, by promising them my help then to be sati. Jhala Rani had made Chandrasen, despite being younger than Udai Singh, after listening to Rao ji, made him the successor. Rani Hiradei also explained that leaving Chandrasen like this would cause a lot of harm in being sati. After all, Queen Sarupadei stopped, Sati did not happen at that time. The other queens, queens, concubines who were twenty one in number, died with the body of Rao ji.

The news of Rao ji's death very soon spread throughout the city. His great chieftains started coming to Jodhpur after shaving their heads. Rani Sarupadei gathered all the chieftains on the fifth day of his death and told them that Rao ji had made my son Chandrasen as his successor. Now I am sati leaving this decision in your hands. The chieftains said with one voice that Chandrasen is our Rao and we are his uncles.

Many more days were late in this mess. The queen would make preparations to become sati every day, but one reason or the other would have arisen that had to be stopped. At last he got angry, said jealously to the son - "You have stopped me from going with Rao ji for your kingdom and till now you are following me in the tune of your selfishness. But you or your children will not be able to take any advantage from the secret for which you broke my religion. By giving this curse, Rani Sarupadeh made a pyre and became sati with Rao ji's turban.

The second turban reached Kaleva on the third day of death where Kachhwahi Rani and Umadei Kumar lived with Rama. On seeing that turban, Ruthirani gave up at the same time. All his pride was gone. Rokar started saying – "Now with whom will I get angry, with whom I used to get angry, if he is not there now, then what will I do after living. He respected me. He fulfilled my pride. For whom should I live now? Make my funeral pyre. I will not leave Rao ji's side. A turban was sent to the queen who was far away.

Here Lachhaldei also started preparing for Sati. But his son Ram did not stop to become the successor of his father till the mother committed sati. left for Udaipur. This haste and rudeness of his mother felt very bad. With regret, she said, "Ram, for you we have to leave Jodhpur and spend our days here and you leave us like this and run away. Go, if there is some effect in your tongue, then I will never be destined to live in Marwar. Neither you nor your descendants will rule Marwar, will always roam around in other countries.

As soon as the funeral pyre was ready, the news spread far and wide that even a ruthless queen would commit sati with Rao ji's turban. Four-four, five-five kos people ran to see this Sati. Everyone used to say with folded hands – "Sati Mata! You are great. You are the true sati in this age of Kali. Blessed are you and your parents, this country Marwar, which you are purifying by being sati. Lachhaldei, you are also blessed. You are both goddesses of chastity, we salute you."

The pyre was ready, the horns started ringing, both the queens or both the ladies came out of the markets riding on horses. People used to be torn to see the jokes of the hut. Rupees, jewelery and jewels were being looted. On reaching the pyre, both of them sat face to face and kept the husband's turban in the middle. There was no one to fire. Everyone stood watching. Not even a sound came out of anyone's mouth. Ruthi Rani's face was shining like a moon. Suddenly Kumar Ram became headlines as soon as he thought of insulting. The words came out from her blazing heart scorching the delicate tongue - "I came to sleep upset with my husband, but no other woman would ever support her son's son like this." Let no one curse my son severely. She herself spoke in the middle so that the angry queen would be silent – Baiji, this kaput did not even care about the real mother and what would she do. Had he stayed a little longer, we would not have taken so long to go with Rao ji. Who was stopping him, if he had given fire, he would have gone.

Umadei was elated to hear her husband's lovely name. True love, true love of her husband engulfed her. At that time, the eyes on which he used to get drunk. Someone has said well-

Nain Chhache Baina Chhache Chhache Adhar Muskaaye

Let your eyes go, but the Romans lying on the ground may be spared.

That is, the eyes, the talking and the smiling lips are all intoxicated, and the one whose eyes fall on him, his tears become happy.

Then Ruthi Rani said with a little care- "Look, is there any Rathor here?" By chance, a poor Rathor named Jeet Malvat was found. He came frightened and said with folded hands - "Sati Mata, have mercy on me, I have left Marwar fed up with hunger and I work hard and work hard in Mewar to feed. I am not capable of setting the pyre on fire."

Uma Dei said- "Thakur, don't be afraid, take a bath and set fire to the pyre. You are of Rathore clan, that's why you have been called.

He again appealed- "Sati Mata, I will give fire, but where will I sit for twelve days after laying mournful floors. Even my house is not big enough that I can mourn the queen of Jodhpur after burning it. I spend the night under the trees in the shade of the stars."

Hearing this, Uma Dei gestured to the scribe. He wrote a letter on behalf of the satis in the name of Rana ji that Ram has left us without sati, now snatch this village from him and give victory to Malwat Rathore. In this way, Sati gave the village of ten thousand to the poor Rathor.

Jeet Malvat took the letter in his hand and immediately after taking a bath, he set fire to the pyre. In Dum Ke Dum, there was no trace left except a pile of chariots. In hour or two, the wind scattered the jars here and there and made all the more anecdotal.

Ta sahar she also left you o bade saba

Memorandum was bright and the blueprint of the license was

But if it is not there, then the name of Ruthi Rani still comes. People still adore his name. In this way, after twenty-seven years of marriage, the value of Uma Dei was broken and the cup of life with Mann was also broken. Uma dei Bhattani Bless you! As long as you were alive, you took care of yourself and died, you also died with pride. You get on the plane, the angels are waiting for you with flowers in their hands to see you and shower flowers. O holy goddess, the chastity is ready to be sacrificed on you and your beloved husband in whose name you gave your life, is waiting for you with your eyes laid.

When the news of Uma dei Bhattani's sati reached Jodhpur, people were blessed. May the Bhati dynasty, in which such princesses are born, lay down their heads at his feet, even when their husband is upset, whose chastity is never a stain on the sheet, due to which they get upset! Has anyone ever seen such anger.

On the twelfth day after the death of Rao ji, a Jodhpur turban came for the victory of Malvat. He tied a turban after performing all the rituals, then went to Udaipur and gave that letter to King Udai Singh. After reading the letter, he respectfully placed it on his head and wrote the bandage of Kaleva in his name. He returned and took possession of that village. Where Ruthi Rani was sati, a pucca umbrella was made there, the traces of which are present till date. Just as Jeet Malvat got Kaleva on the recommendation of Ruthi Rani, in the same way his baddua also did not go in vain. Kumar Ram was not destined to sit on the throne of Jodhpur. The combined efforts of Udai Singh and Akbar also failed to get him the kingdom there. Due to this failure, he finally died after facing the troubles of leaving the country for a few days and took his desires with him. His grandson Keshavdas, who is known as Keshav Maru among the rulers of Akbar and Jahangir, had got a small manor named Amjhera in Malwa. But it was also confiscated in the mutiny of 1857 AD.

The Baddua of Jhali Rani Sarupadei also finally paid off. At that time, Chandrasen became the Rao of Jodhpur, but later when Akbar sent troops to Marwar after receiving the news of Maldev's death, Kumar Ram, Raimal and Udai Singh met all three royal forces, as a result of which, in the year 1622 Vikrami, Chandrasen sent troops to Jodhpur. vacated. Akbar kept that country in his hands for sixteen years and handed it over to Udai Singh in the year 1640. His children still rule Jodhpur. Chandrasen's grandson Karmsen was given the pargana of Bhanae in the area of Ajmer by Jahangir. His son is still there. Thus ended the story of Ruthi Rani. He is not there, but his name remains the same even after three and a half hundred years have passed.

Whatever the poets of Marwar have written in praise of Uma Dei, it is so powerful and painful that even today, after reading it, one comes to cry and the heart swells. If there is no ritual of Sati at this time, but after reading those poems and songs, the compassionate scene of that time comes in front of the eyes. Asa ji Charan, who had separated Uma Dei from her husband forever by reading a couplet, lived at that time with Bhairali and Bagha in a lounge. When he got the news of the rude queen being sati, he said - O Uma dei, you are blessed. You said that till my last breath my respect remains, then praise me. You did as you said. Blessed again and again for your courage and your self-respect.

Asaji wrote a poem of fourteen bandas at the same time and sent copies of it to all Rajputana because he had promised that if I lived till after you, your name would be immortalized. Baat Ke Pakka fulfilled his promise.

Those verses are still on the tongues of the children of Marwar and as long as those who continue to read these verses, the name of Ruthi Rani will shine.

THE END
