Another man in black emerged from the whirlwind. Their sense of style was definitely astonishing, but not the point.
The man bowed to Xie Qing and suddenly held out his hand, grabbing something from the whirlwind.
"Ouch!"
The Demon Baron fell onto the platform. He looked around fearfully and scared up when he noticed Xie Qing.
Xie Qing's eyes lit up and dark purple smoke came out of his body, enveloping the demon.
The man in black did not react and only stepped back, disappearing into thin air.
"N-no... Please, please-"
Before the demon could speak, his body was engulfed in purple smoke. Screams and pleas for help sounded for a few seconds before the smoke cleared.
No corpse or ashes remained of the demon. The Devouring ability handled the task very spectacularly.
Xie Qing snorted and walked away, disappointed. Even though he made it to the semifinals, there was no joy in it.
Contrary to his expectations for a good fight, all he got was a coward who didn't even come to the competition.
It's pretty hard to blame a demon for this act, though. Every demon race that has ever heard Xie Qing's name could not remain calm.
Especially after the recent events where Xie Qing single-handedly killed an army of demons and also a Demon Count equal to him in strength.

Lloyd, naturally, was also angry. For werewolves, the comparison to dogs was very insulting.
"R-r-r..." Lloyd growled softly and a silver aura enveloped him, creating a strong pressure in the air.
The maid froze, as she was only A- level. Xie Qing frowned and released his pressure in response, dissipating the werewolf's aura.
"Gha!" The werewolf fell to his knees and stained the clean floor with his blood.
His body shuddered in pain, and a strong sense of despair overtook him as his aura grew weaker.
Lloyd also felt his life shortened by five hundred years!
Harvest!
Xie Qing was able to collect all the fragments, gaining a skill from a past life. He looked coldly at Lloyd and stepped on his head, pinning him to the floor.
"Next time you sass me, think a thousand times. Though I'd advise thinking about it a million times, for insurance."
He shook his head mockingly, feeling Lloyd's emotions of shame and rage.
"I really hope you make it to the finals."
"Because then..."
Xie Qing smirked and pressed harder on Lloyd's head, making him wriggle on the floor.
Sensing the werewolf's efforts, Xie Qing's smirk grew wider, turning into a bloodthirsty smile.
"I will gladly rip out your heart and decorate the platform with your own guts."
