"This..."
Another thing that shocked Ryn was the quality of the air. It was so pure that Ryn felt like he had entered another world devoid of any impurity.
"Here's your 7-day trial card. Insert your card here and the glass door will automatically open for you," Jay said, tossing the man a card.
When Ryn looked at his newly acquired item, he couldn't help but admire the production quality.
The brown card was smooth and at its centre was a simple black dragon design that gave a feeling of dominance and power.
Then, he peeped at the boy's neck to confirm that his tattoo was the same dragon as on the card.
When both of them passed through the verification procedure, Jay acted as a guide and started introducing everything to Ryn.
"Our shop provides three main services — fitness equipment, medicinal bath, and body massage. I recommend you follow these three steps in this order for the best experience. Let's go to the gym area."
After seeing the spatial formation array, Ryn wasn't surprised by the neatness of the shop. Everything was tidy, giving the place a chill ambience.
The workout area had black gym floor tiles on the floor in case someone dropped something heavy. A range of dumbbells with numbers starting from one to ten was available for members. Further away were treadmills with a maximum speed of mach 100.
With such a high speed, there were many security measures.
For example, to set up a certain speed, the machine might require its user to have a minimum cultivation grade to avoid injury.
"This is called a dumbbell. We use it for muscle-building." Jay lifted the piece of equipment and showed it to the new member. Then, he proceeded to explain how to do exercises with it. "Remember this workout program and don't forget to rest properly for your body to recover."
With his knowledge gained from the system, he had no problem explaining all of this.
"Are you taking me for an idiot?" Ryn grimaced. He had some expectations that this place was legit seeing the shop's spatial formation array, but when the kid showed him the dumbbells, only a person missing a brain would believe that these tiny things could help cultivators increase their physical strength!
No one could blame Ryn for his reaction, after all, the man was a third-grade Grandmaster capable of lifting 2,000 kg (~4,409 lbs), and these things didn't look like they could weigh more than 10 kg (~22 lbs).
Without saying anything, Jay only gave him a mocking gaze as if saying "If you're so great, try to lift them if you can."
As if understanding the meaning behind his gaze, Ryn ignored the dumbbell that the boy showed him and walked towards the biggest one in the room which had a number ten on it.
"These things might be effective for kids like you who have yet to make their first steps towards the path of cultivation."
In fact, Jay was already a first-grade Warrior but since he didn't bother to check, he assumed the boy wasn't a cultivator yet from his young age.
A first-grade Warrior who was 13 years old?
Nah... Even a genius like Ryn only managed to get to that point at the young age of 20!
The man might cough up blood if he were to learn that it only took a week for the kid to reach the first-grade Warrior whereas it took him 20 years.
"But for a cultivator like me, they might be as light as feather—," he felt like being struck by lightning when the dumbbell that was supposedly easy to lift didn't move an inch.
5 minutes later
"Huff... Puff...," Ryn was gasping for breath while laying on the ground. Even after using both his hands to pull it with all his strength and even manipulating his Soul Fire, the result was disappointing.
Standing at the side, Jay sighed. He just wanted to quickly finish the introduction and go back to read his book in peace.
Instead, he was wasting his time with that silly man. "Are you done? I told you that the most you could raise was level 3. These numbers aren't there for nothing. Each number corresponds to the cultivation grade required.
"You're merely a third-grade Grandmaster, how can you possibly go for the one that even tenth-grade Divine cultivators struggle to lift? Even if there were a hundred of you, it wouldn't change anything."
"..." At that moment, Ryn just wanted to bury himself in the ground. He had embarrassed himself in front of a kid and even declared with confidence that he would lift the dumbbell without any issue. But, he finished by ridiculing himself.
"Follow me. I'll show you the bath area." Fortunately, Jay changed the subject of the conversation, dissipating the awkward atmosphere.
As they arrived, the sweet melody of flowing water rang in their ears and the mist from the hot water warmed up the air. "This is the men's bathing facility. We call this an onsen, the ultimate bathing experience. The Divine Ocean Spring Water can help relieve tense muscles, clear your mind and nourish your body. When leaving the hot spring, your body will quickly cool down which encourages you to relax."
"Divine Ocean Spring Water...," Ryn muttered in disbelief.
It was a legendary treasure that can help in refining the ultimate Saint-level artifacts, the dream of all artifact masters. Yet, it was wasted as mere bathwater here.
In the entire alliance of The Five Stars, the number of Saint-level artifacts they had could be counted on the fingers of one's hand!
When a sinful thought of stealing the treasure came to his mind, he disregarded it just as fast as it came.
The senior behind that kid must be powerful to possess so many treasures such as the spatial formation array, the powerful air purification formation array, the heavy dumbells, the Divine Ocean Spring Water, and there might even be other things that he wasn't aware of.
Although he wanted to teach this irritating kid a lesson, he must not provoke this shop without investigation!
As the saying goes, the fear of the unknown is the greatest fear of all.
