The next few days were long and quiet for Mazelina as she stayed in her room with either Turk or Rudi. Once, she allowed Anju in to play with the pups, but she didn't let anyone else enter.
Meanwhile, Turk had interregated Josiah about what the male had done in order to get Mazelina out of the den and into Skrimir's hands. At first, he wasn't so forthcoming. But when Turk threatened to let several other pack members interrogate him with more ferocity than he, Josiah spoke up.
He explained that a contact told him about the mating ceremony and how distracted everyone was with having an official Luna that it was easy to slip through Turk's defenses. He used a rope to get up to their balcony then drugged Mazelina when she screamed. Afterwards, he carried away, leaving the note in hopes Turk would believe she had betrayed him. When Turk asked about his contact, Josiah said he couldn't say or else he would die. Turk shrugged and said he'd likely die anyways for his betrayal.
